It's so nice for the lost generation after the incident to finally find Janet Jackson. ❤ They were robbed of her superior talent, and then so many other girls filled the vacuum but not as well IMO.
The original album release ended with "Anytime, Anyplace" and the 2 short interludes that follow. The CD contained the hidden track "Whoops Now". The last 3 songs you listened to were originally single B-sides that were tacked on as album bonus tracks in 2023.
What a great album I still remember how pretty she looked on the cover ❤

Another lovely review! "Hey Hey Hey Thats What I Say" was from a Rolling Stones song, so thats why Mick got credit. "What'll I Do" is a cover of a song originally sung by Johnny Daye. "Pillow Talk" (another remake originally recorded by Syliva) was recorded for this album but was never included. Questlove got a snippet of it, and played it on his radio show. Check it out. Janet said she regrets not including it on the album.

So I was ten yrs old when this album came out, and I convinced my Mom to get it for me. Lets just say Janet had me questioning many things about myself, at ten! Then The Velvet Rope at 14 😳 I had no clue who Michael was but I was a toddler loving Janet thanks to my Mother, I loved Mike later. It's nice to see the younger folk listening to and appreciating her work because she's that bish okay!

@@thechanelissue The deluxe edition makes for even better listening, in 93’ & 94’ those b side tunes like 70’s luv groove weren’t on the regular cd, so if folks didn’t buy the single “ you want this” they didn’t even know it existed if their local radio stations didn’t play it on a “for lovers only “segment, because in my region in didn’t get regular air play as good as it was.
