    How many people watching this have done a charter flight in Africa before? What else would you like to know?

    We loved the charter flights in Tanzania. The time saved getting to the north is well worth the expense of course at times you may miss a photo opportunity but traveling on dirt roads for hours compared to a 60 minute flight is worth it. We can't wait until we are able to get to Botswana next year.

    The weight limit makes sense however how do they account for very large passengers? I mean one person on board might way 120lbs and another 300lbs. This weight difference makes the luggage weight limit pale in comparison!

      Seriously, it was very nice. I did my first African trip in September of ‘19. Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia and South Africa. Safari, Gorilla Treks & Cape Town. I’m a seasoned global traveler but it was hard to reconcile ‘hard and soft’ rules as it pertained to Bush Planes. My camera gear alone (multiple bodies and glass) was a load. As instructed I used a soft ‘wheel less’ bag for clothes only to get to some of the smaller airports to see some folks successfully using soft ‘wheeled’ luggage. Now that I’ve taken several flights and added a 2nd African trip (Londolozi) this past February ‘I get it’. That said I would have rested a lot easier before embarking on my first trip if I’d seen your clip beforehand!!!

    Another question would be - why are all of these flights so eye-wateringly expensive?

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  4 роки тому

      They can be quite expensive but when you consider the costs involved you soon understand why. For example the runways I the Delta need redoing nearly every 5 years at a huge cost each ($400k) ands without the economies of scale of bigger planes it soon adds up.

    Is the weight limit still 20kg each? Asking ahead of Mara next Sept!

    Thank you for your video! One question, please: what about soft-sided luggage but with wheels? Is that ok? My travel agency told me no hard luggage nor wheeled-luggage and I bought a travel backpack, but I have back problems and wheels would be better for me if allowed...

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  4 роки тому +1

      I have a soft sided bag with 2 wheels and a solid structure to the back that attached the wheels to the handle. as long as it scan squeeze into the cargo pod you will be ok.

      @@PangolinWildlife thank you so much for your reply , that was really nice! I'm eager to go on my safari trip that was cancelled due to the covid outbreak (it was a birthday present for me and my mom, out birthdays are on the same week). We were really excited to go but, oh well, in a few months or next year, we hope! Thank you!

      @@PangolinWildlife What are the maximum dimensions allowed for luggage on these charter flights?

    thanx for the info but are there restrooms on the planes ? this is very important to me & my wife

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  4 роки тому

      Hi Ernest. No there aren't restrooms on the planes but there are facilities in Maun and Kasane for just before you depart. We suggest maybe skipping the morning coffee and too much water on the day of a charter flight. Most of the flights last around 1hr as an average. Hope that hasn't put you off? Alternatively we have other safaris that dont require charter flights such as our Best of Chobe Safari. www.pangolinphoto.com/safaris/best-of-the-chobe

    Does the 20kg limit apply to all luggage or only what is stowed away in the hold below? I'm asking since my camera bag itself weighs 15 kg 😟

    • @PangolinWildlife
      @PangolinWildlife  4 роки тому

      Yes it does apply but we have a very good relationship with the charter companies and especially on our hosted safaris like the Chobe, Delta, Kalahari packages we tend to charter the whole plan for the groups which allows us extra baggage per person as we take the extra seats too. Check it out here: www.pangolinphoto.com/safaris/10-day-chobe-delta-and-kalahari-hosted-photo-safari
