Dylan Vickers can't do that when the Cowboys are a run heavy offense with one of the best receiving cores in the league(Beasley, Witten, T Will, and Bryce butler). it's hard to get him 100 catches when that happens

    • @mrravimc

Ethan Key Then why would Dez even respond? CC is an analyst. And the critique he made, based on the facts that he presented, was 100% fair. But to call him a puppet? Dez was outta line. And he just continues to show us how immature he is.

Derek McGee Why does every cowboy argument end up with someone challenging the opposing person team? Were talking about the Cowboys. This is the same old Dez who gets flustered easily when challenges rise up. The NFC is weak and the Panthers were the biggest example last year in that embarrassment of a superbowl.

This is ridiclous. Did you know that in this same exact point in Carters career he didn't even have a 1000 yard season ONCE yet. It took his 7th year to finally get one, and BARELY. Carter has only gotten ONE season with more than 1300 yards in 16 YEARS. Dez did it in his 3RD YEAR, while already doing it twice. He was 50 yards away from doing it EVERY SEASON from his 3RD year until he got hurt last year missing most the games. DEZ HAS DOUBLE THE TOUCHDOWNS CARTER HAD AT THE SAME POINT IN THEIR CAREERS LOL. This goes back to why Irvin is stiffed most of the time, because idiots can't see that Dallas likes to RUN THE BALL.

john Perry Chris Carter wasn't a starting receiver and got a lot less snaps. Also how can you really compare stats when this is a more watered down era in football. Chris Carter put up quite impressive numbers due to his position as well as time he was playing football in.

    • @Brandon195718201
      @Brandon195718201 7 років тому +6

Look at the receptions you put up. Look at them. If Carter got as many receptions as Bryant, the numbers would look a lot more similar, if not, more in favor for Carter. If you tried to pump up Dez, you failed. You ended up making Cris Carter look more impressive.

Clear case of people thinking they are smarter than they really are.
Dez is in a run first offense with a rookie QB after being injured for the fist month of the season. Dez is a guy who catches the ball in traffic . He is not a speed demon like Odell, Brown and Jackson. He needs a QB to throw it up there and trust for him to come down with it. If Dez was on the Falcons right now he would be having more 100 yard games because of the system. You are not goin to have many 100 yard games in the Cowboy offense when you only get 5 targets in a run first offense

Ike with the Iverson jersey 7.9....lmao so that's almost 8 targets a game when you round it off. People need to stop the excuses for Dez. The only excuse they have that is legitimate is that he's been hurt, other than that ain't no excuse.
Dez in the off season needs to step his fundamentals up.

Ike with the Iverson jersey Simple not all those throws were good passes. Dak had a hard time finding a connection with Dez. Especially on fade routes. That stat line is misleading if you don't watch the games.

“To be perfectly honest with you, Cris was a bona fide diva,” Ismail told SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio. “That dude would make, as far as his play, some outstanding one-handed grabs in practice to the point where when we got to the game we were just like, people would be like, ‘Oh, no!’ And we were like, ‘Yeah, and? Well, that’s just kind of Cris Carter.’ However, to me, when I say the greatest guy that I played with was Shannon Sharpe, because he raised the game up for me as a player. I know there would be times when we’d get in the huddle and he’d look over at me and go, ‘Q, we need to make a play.’ Or whatever it might have been in that moment. And I swear to you it would be like, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to make a play because Shannon just called me out.’ And sure enough, boom, it would be there. Shannon was that kind of a guy that you just knew that he was in your corner. You couldn’t say the same thing for Cris Carter. You couldn’t say the same thing as far as his attitude towards his teammates. You couldn’t say the same thing as far as his attitude as far as the coaching staff. You knew that he had a selfishness to him that was an extreme selfishness.”

At the time of his retirement, Carter's 1,101 career receptions and 130 touchdowns as a receiver placed him second in NFL history behind Jerry Rice, although his totals have since been surpassed by Marvin Harrison (receptions) and by Randy Moss and Terrell Owens (touchdown receptions). He is one of 14 players in NFL history with 1,000 or more receptions.[15] He was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. Carter was one of fifteen finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2008, but was not elected in a surprise to some commentators. Carter was once again excluded in 2009 and again in 2010 as receivers Jerry Rice and Tim Brown became eligible for the first time, though Brown did not make it.[16] Additionally, Andre Reed was another possible candidate that diminished Carter's chance for enshrinement in 2010. In 2011, he also did not make it despite not having a single wide receiver in the class

I think Dez is the same player he was two years ago. Maybe even better. The only difference is quarterback play. Not saying Dak isn't a great quarterback, because he has proven that he is, but he's a different type of QB than Romo. Romo and dez were a match made in heaven because romo was a gunslinger and the type of receiver dez is, a lot of time he might not be "open" but just outmuscles the DB. With Dak, if dez doesn't look open he'll throw the ball somewhere else. Romo may not be best for the cowboys but he was definitely the best QB for dez

Tbh Dak doesn’t have crazy talent slinging the ball around the field but after looking st him play, creative route running and consistent play is gonna take us far. Keep doing those quick shots and wait for someone to bust the coverage or miss a tackle for a big play, get rid of players like dez who live for the gunslinging qb and get more tactical players who can play a role.
I can understand why you don’t like dak, he doesn’t fit the previous cowboys mold. It’s a bit more technical football here and it’s slower now

The problem that these two didn't address is that Dez's so call "regression" has coincided with Tony Romo's injuries. The truth is that Romo and Dez's relationship from QB to WR was really good. They made each other better. Romo had the passing talent to help Dez flourish. Matt Cassel and the other guys from last year couldn't get Dez the ball. This year Dak is learning how to get Dez the ball. You have to take these things into account.

Honestly don't find it fair to critique Dez based on his stats. Cowboys are committed to the run and don't need Dez to rack 200 yards a game. We're talking like Dez completely fell off and the team is failing. Last time I checked Cowboys are 13-2 with Dez an integral part of offense and he is contributing as a big play threat. That's all I wanna ask of my player; someone who is committed to the team and plays with a lot of passion. He isn't caught up in stats which is how Cris gauges his "expectation" of him. Dez is helping win ball games plain and simple. To say Dez is no longer good because his stats aren't high like in 2013 and 2014 is ridiculous. I agree I still feel like Dez hasn't developed fully into the player he could be his routes are mediocre, but to minimize his impact is just sad...

I talked about Dez a while back about running his routes, that he wasn't fundamentally sound, and I got my hat handed to me, but I kept saying this is the reason why the Cowboys were reluctant to pay him all that money! However if they want Dez to be better then the coaches need to criticize him privately. Dez also needs to show up on time and go to meetings and that was leaked out but again that's an internal issue that the coaches in that locker room needed to address!
Chris Carter can be right all he wants but honestly Dez doesn't answer to him and doesn't owe him anything and when someone is dogmatic like Chris Carter was and especially publicly then that's the kind of response you will get, and even if Chris Carter was right it was HOW he did it. Does Dez need to improve? Sure! but Carter could have done this better, go look at the clip, he's insulting/condescending and he let Shannon Sharp rub off on him (he was showing off) and no one is gong to listen to you if you do them like that.

Anyone who has Dez back on this, never seen playing career. Chris Carter was a "Leader" who had tons of respect for the game.

Dez is good he is a volume receiver which won't happen with Dak he needs to make better use of his limited touches since that's how the offense will be with Dak at QB.
