The situation with Cellbit is so heartbreaking, he had to expose so many personal things about himself just to 'prove' his innocence to the community :(

As an english viewer I'm so privledged in this situation T-T but still it is disgusting to see and im glad some ccs have talked about it themselves, Im so sorry this is happening to the brazilian community and i hope people sort their shit soon
      (edit)
Hearing what you were saying the english comunity were complaining about made me so mad lmao- not because you were saying it!! the fact it needed to be said. just all the racist shit people pull for the dumbest reason (like quackity, a HISPANIC creator, wanting to do SPANISH content, and people getting pissy ab it) its so dissappointing to be in such a close minded community, even if its not the majority, they can often be much louder than the more accepting qsmp community.

As an English viewer of the QSMP, the amount of content that the Brazilians put out was and still is inanely entertaining! I am a Tina viewer and I love the relationship lore that she has w Bagi and I have sooo much fun watching them interact! I had a go watching Bagi´s content (Even though I don’t understand/speak Portuguese so I try to read the translations as best as I can lol) and she´s amazing. All of the Brazilians are amazing and so are all the others! I´m so sad seeing something that was supposed to unite is being targeted in such a negative way from uneducated people. I really hope they, like you said, find solutions cause of the sake of the creators to still play, interact and put out amazing content for us to watch. Culture sharing is one of the most beautiful and important thing to understand others and to LEARN!

I read the document and was immediately disgusted with the ex-girlfriend. SHE abused him, not the other way around. SHE cheated on him and literally manipulated him while dating a whole different person and WHILE dating him. She doesn't have proof of any accusations she makes; meanwhile, Cellbit does. I might be an English viewer, but I'll side with whoever puts out actual evidence of any of these disturbing accusations. Cellbit does not deserve this. I am glad that he is out of the toxic relationship SHE created.

I'm American and Mexican. I started watching just as the Brazilians arrived.
It's almost a relief to me, that you said you could feel the divide between the Brazilians and all other Latinos. I wasn't sure if it was just me. I know, living in the US, I'm in the majority within the Latino community and Brazilians are one of the minorities, and that's part of why I didn't know much about Brazil growing up. But I really did also draw a mental line circling Central and South America, with a dotted line along Brazil's borders. We're all Latinos, but it often doesn't feel that way. I thought of Brazilians like distant cousins, in the same way I think of Filipinos like distant cousins, when we SHOULD know each other so much better than that.
I have this distinct memory of going to a Spanish-speaking camp as a teenager. As we were waiting for the buses to arrive, there was a group of maybe 5 Brazilian boys, partying it up at 7 in the morning in a little group. On their own. And everyone else wasn't sure what to make of it. They felt like a distinct entity and very unapproachable, and it stayed that way throughout the camp, even when they didn't stand out as much as at the start. I'd thought they'd established their clique then and there, and that was that.
I'm very grateful that QSMP broke down those barriers for me, personally. I've been learning Portuguese (maybe in a kinda chaotic way, but still learning) because I was frustrated at how little I could catch of the lore when the translator didn't work as well, and was SO annoyed with how well Cellbit faked Spanish ajsokwfkw Sometimes, spite is a great motivator :D And I'm gaining more and more interest in Brazilian culture when I had near-zero before, despite having a Brazilian roommate years ago! You're becoming more and more mi gente!!
I have hope, too, that the QSMP will live on. But I don't know what we can expect Quackity Studios to do about this, beyond Quackity's statements. I think it's more up to us, as a worldwide community, to clean up our own act somehow.

he was not faking it, there's something here in brazil we call "portunhol" it's when we basically don't know how to properly speak spanish so we end up merging words unconsciously, we're not trying to make fun of spanish, just trying to communicate with a language that is so similar but so different in many ways, not trying to correct you just point a funny thing that maybe spanish speakers don't know about brazilians

As a Spanish viewer my two cents from the POV of the Spanish speaking community is basically that a lot of people are in fact feeling nostalgic, but not only because of the lack of Spanish speaking creators but because of the lack of the "Karmaland boys". So mainly Vegetta, Rubius, Luzu, Maximus, Willyrex and Quackity. Before creating the QSMP, Quackity was part of another series, exclusively Spanish speaking, called Karmaland which involved the people previously mentioned with Vegetta being the main owner of the series. This series is huuuugeeee in the Spanish speaking community and from the beginning QSMP felt a lot like Karmaland but with added Latin American creators, which I am sure a lot of Spanish speaking Latin American fans were extremely excited to see them interact with the "Karmaland boys". The English speaking creators also were there just to add a little bit of something different for the Karmaland boys.
I am sure Quackity was heavily inspired by this series and I bet also the Spanish Speaking creators themselves were also involved in the core administration of it at the beginning as Vegetta and Maximus mentioned that they knew about the QSMP coming out for months in advanced. The way roleplaying in Karmaland worked was different from previous English speaking servers too. No one had to memorise lines for it, they just set up their characters and the main arcs and they would improvise along the way. Some storylines were even created on the spot while this improvisation, and later implemented by the admins, it is completely not as stressful as the English speaking ones and it was always about a group of friends goofing around. QSMP seemed to replicate a lot of these traits in its role-play not to mention the eggs were clearly inspired by Titi, a little alien thing that Karmaland used in the same way so creators would be accompanied by someone whenever they logged in by themselves (there were way less participants so there were days in which someone would be there completely alone).
Since QSMP started shortly after Karmaland ended, with all the similarities they have, the core Spanish speaking fandom were basically the Karmaland fandom. This fandom is very passionate and can get quite toxic at times just like any big fandom really, so I feel like the main sentiment of the fandom is that they just miss their Spanish speaking creators alongside their precious Karmaland, and maybe also they feel like something that was once their thing is just not theirs anymore which maybe saddens them a bit too. I doubt people with an ounce of common sense blame the Brazilian creators for it though, the Spanish speaking creators, particularly the Karmaland boys, are preoccupied with other projects and other things in their lives and they are really not expected to log in frequently anymore. Plus, they understand this is not Karmaland and it should be appreciated as its own thing.

3:47 As a Hispanic viewer, you are so right regarding the topic that we barely have content creators that speak Spanish and start streaming at a good time for us. That's why some of us would love for Quackity to give the call to some streamers from Purgatory 2 that manifested their interest on participating like Rodezel, Molly, Soarinng or Duxo. Tho, probably it'll take some time for more Hispanics to join since it looks like the focus right now is making sure the arrival of all the Koreans goes well
Don't get me wrong. We love the tides of creativity, culture and good vibes the Brazilian creators bring to the server just like the French and that now Acau and the Koreans will bring. But sometimes we would like to watch the stream of someone we could understand almost immediately without needing to read the translations

    Older English viewer here.
Thank you for sharing the view of a Brasilian QSMP viewer. I learned some new things from a different perspective and educating ourselves is the most important thing here.
I've watched quite a few SMPs over the years, and have tried to be even handed in my appreciation. I was pretty sad that people were complaining about Quackity doing content in Spanish. I saw he was streaming Karmaland and made a friend in that community to learn more about the lore so we could enjoy it together.
When the QSMP was announced and the USMP days later, the lines and divisions were drawn up so starkly. It was a glimpse of what was to come.
The idea of the integration the community has THE POTENTIAL to be seems to always be overshadowed by peoples personal biases and the inability to parse the difference between Lore™ and the content creators and the admin team at Quackity Studios. These folk attack the CC's and their fans over in-game scenarios.
I have always been curious by nature and I have been stoked to learn from other cultures, picking up other languages from conversation on the server (I know a lot of swear words T_T), but language seems a lot less daunting and accessible! It reminds me of my youth when Sesame Street was how I learned English and Spanish with a little help of actors (content creators) and Muppets (Eggs and Admins).
Oh P.S. I think your hair is pretty! 🤩

When i heard about people hating the Brazilian community this makes me wonder if people understand the concept of qsmp, and if you don't understand the concept let me explain, qsmp is ment to bring everyone from all around the world together and break language barriers, and it would be very bad if we had racism in the community, its ment to bring everyone together from all around the world who just like Minecraft, very simple concept of the server

As a Brasilian viwer I wish the french creators weren't so overlooked when it comes to the events, they deserve better! Also something very cool about portuguese and spanish is that even if we don't know eachother's language to a T we can still understand eachother from context and similar words. I used to consume so much fandom content in spanish when I was little bc the spanish translations came before the portuguese and it was awesome, fancomics, fanart and fansongs in spanish were very well made and it was great to be able to learn a new language and culture while so young. Today I can watch almost all of the POV's without the translator(I'm still strugling to learn french, but I'm trying very hard and I'll succed mark my words). The thing is that my parents weren't as excited to learn that I spoked spanish as they were when I learned english and that was very heartbreaking because I was so happy that I was able to speaking another language, but because It's similar to portuguese they saw it as the lazy man's route because it is "easier" to learn.(fucking Bullshit it's what I think)

As an English speaker, thank you so much for shedding light on this situation. I honestly had no idea it was going on. I've been having so much fun learning about new cultures and new languages, I feel heartbroken that any of us from this community, exhibited racism or xenophobia. I truly hope we overcome this and keep promoting the ideas that the qsmp was founded on. One of open mindedness, and embracing cultures. Brazilian creators and the effort they put into the lore is insane. I really hope that despite the barrios that exist, we can work on the community, and create a much safer space for everyone that we can all be proud of.

Hello to the brazilian community, I am very sorry about your situation and I wish that this wave of racism will stop soon (because sadly we can do many thing about racist on internet excpet ignoring them and wait that their hateful speach fade away). It is a lesson that we learned with qsmp, even if we have different culture, even if we live in the opposit side of the globe we can have together happy moment. And because of what qsmp created, the bond despite the language barrier, it is our responsability as a community to support each other in a time of trouble, such as what you must be feeling now. So I wish that you could that the french community is with you.
So please, I know it can be difficult but if you can, if you see a racist message, just ignore it, hate feed itself,so don't be hateful like them. And if really a message really trigger you like really really bad and you have to answer, i know you won't be calm and might be hateful(it is normal we are human we all react like that at first), please at the very least remember that the one who wrote this comment is an person, not a community so don't hate the community back, don't be racist asshole like they are... The next part of the message will explain as I (and probably many other french people) feel as a part of a french viewer, so don't bother reading if you think that it would be not interesting to you.
So firstly, thank you so much for talking a bit about our situation, I am so glad that some other country may talk about our community and our problems (that we might share with other community like the new east asian one, the australian or with the UK for the hour of event).
When the french arrive on the island, at the start there was like a huge feeling of "the server is the server of cellbit and friend" but mainly cellbit, it is kinda logical he is the biggest (active) streamer on the server so it is logical that he would get more lore then other and more attention. We can't really blame anyone for that, it is totally normal. But the problem is that the french like tried really hard to have even a bit of lore, like it was about three month of normal server minecraft before the first sliver of lore, it was cool don't get me wrong bjt when seeing the other community, i really had a feelingthat the server let us behind, and this feeling was reinforced with some problems that are not huge of themselves which when accumulated was really heavy, the fact that all the event where at 3am, the fact that in the first movie night they didn't put any animation with the french(event thought they already were really good one), the museum without any french fanart, the fact that there is on at least half of the visual proposed by quackity studio, the french were really often forgotten... Even some streamer like antoine or etoiles felt that. Now all of that is really on the past and most of it is behind us but the start was pretty rough. And the worst of it was something that i didn't speak sooner the harrasement of the french content creators, and when I talk about I speak about all of them(except of course kameto) in the first 2 month there was a case of harrasement on literally all of them, baghera, aypierre, etoiles, antoine, it was like really really not a nice periods, they all talked about it at least one time on stream, so yeah there was some racist messages, many hateful, and it was hard to see our content creators in their state after their harrassement, mainly by a really small (but noisy) part, of the spanish and brazilian community.
Actually the french content creator live their best life on the server and everyone is happy to be on it no problems like there was in the past (except maybe a lack of representation by quackity studio on their visual (like the one announcing qsmp2024, that had sign of every language except the french one (like for real we would have taken any french speaking or even partially country, canada, belgium, switzerland, but please at least represent every languages if you can't represent every country))).
But for real at the end huge love on every community on qsmp, every content creator and at the quackity studio (that even if we critcize a little do an insanely good work on the server and outside of it) ❤

I love QSMP from the bottom of my heart, but i feel that us french, are very ignored ^^' Quackity an Quackity studio made great efforts so the events are at a kindda correct time now (10pm usually), they really listened to us and i'm very thankful (well, they still forgot we existed in the Acau arrival poster XD, but this was kind of heartwarming because i saw so many communities fighting for us XD).
So yeah, i'm sorry i feel like i vented (and i have still a lot to say about the french situation XD) but that was not the principal subject !
What I can say is that the french community definitively loves and support all communities, and if some of us don't, we will just punch them in the face >:D

  • @zAether_

    • @zAether_
      @zAether_ 8 місяців тому +2

I would like to add one bit of Spanish content not mentioned: Leo always writes their signs in Spanish and Foolish always tries to translate and understand them on his own before using tts. Tallulah will also write signs in Spanish for Philza sometimes. I really enjoy those interactions.

POV from Spanish speaker viewer: The OTHER thing with about Spanish streamers is that they are not used to make long run series (And less SMP)
This happens because they are constantly moving between games, proyects and connections. Just for the sake of their own boredom or. Into the other hand. keep the attention of their viewers.
(This also makes them to get into a lot of controversies too... Stuff that lately has been the bread for every day lol.)

Regarding the Spanish speakers been gone at the arrival of brasilian ppl, the only person who had a problem with brasilian community was Spreen who did not empathize with Forever at that time, but the rest of them they had their own reasons that had nothing to do with brasilians.

Spanish speaker here, just wanted to point out something to have in mind about the lack of hispanic cc on the server:
The difference with the hispanic CC and the Brazilian CC is that the Hispanic CCs (regarding their content) are mostly variety streamers, and some of them usually don't stream that often (Missa is mainly a youtuber, Germán is in charge of a fútbol team) The others like Rivers, Mariana, Spreen and even Roier usually play on minecraft servers that last a week or two. With Luzu however, is mostly a timezone + streaming time sort of issue (very early, 1hr/2hr-long streams). Unlike the brazilians like Pac & Mike, who seem to focus mainly on minecraft and Cellbit or even Bagi who prefer the Roleplay aspect most of the time.
So I think the Hispanic cc decreasing + brazilian cc login more often than others at almost the same time is just a coincidence.
I don't know what to say regarding the rac1sm and xenophobia that wasn't said in the video, so I'll just agree that, despite being literally connected, latam can seem pretty divided sometimes... But I will say, I've learned more about Brazil thanks to the QSMP and I've grown attached to the brazilian community and culture, I can't wait to learn more about y'all, even if our countries have a complicated relationship x'''d (I'm venezuelan)
P.S: YES THE FRENCH COMMUNITY DESERVES WAY BETTER. Literally THE most mature community so far

I have been friends with a brazilian for almost 3 years and the part abt brazil isolating itself…actually fits a lot with some conversations we had, it makes more sense to me why we had these barriers and we still have some of them…
I remember one of those conversations where he said he thought the “monkey” thing was to refer mexicans and i thought it was to refer brazilians and then a chilean friend told us is actually for both 💀
In resume this video has been really helpful even with something that had nothing to do with the qsmp, now a lot of our interactions makes more sense now, but also i didn’t knew how large the gap between portuguese and spanish was bc here in mexico or at least the people who surrounds me show a lot of interest in the language, the accent, the culture (even tho i must admit that after meeting my friend i realized it has stereotypes) I genuinely thought we were more closer since the few times i saw brazil and spanish speakers interacting it was wholesome, they would talk in their own language and the other could understand with a little bit of effort and it was amazing for all, but now that i see it in retrospective, i can visualize the gap more clearly, it was so large, that when we had these little connections it was wholesome, bc there weren’t a lot of times you would see it, but it wasn’t more than that, just a few texts amazed abt things they could understand, maybe some little cultural exchanges and that was it
I hope this changes with time, i have been learning in a really rough way portuguese to talk more with my friend, it’s not necessary since he knows English but i am really interested in the language (he laughs at my accent help LMAO)

As a person who grew up knowing two very different cultures, the QSMP is a project that I never thought would become so huge, but once I realized what they were trying to do: "break the language barrier", unite people from different cultures; I thought it was amazing.
Growing up, I've always been very aware of the way people from different cultures can be intolerant and ignorant, basing their view of a different culture solely on stereotypes and jokes often said. I always found it was a shame. Thankfully I never really suffered very negative racism, but hearing people talk about my culture in such distorted ways affected my self identity for some time.
But the way QSMP ccs actually try to understand foreign cultures, the way they try to learn the languages, the expressions, the memes, the history of different countries, is a breeze of fresh air for me. I feel like it"s something I've never really seen before, not in such a huge scale anyway.
It's very nice, but also very sad to see negative people try to ruin this project.
I hope the passion put into the QSMP project will prevail against the intolerant and ignorant people who, I know more than anyone, can have quite a narrow point of view of a culture that isn't theirs.

As a member of the french community I recently heard that a lot of french content creators will stop going on QSMP. The main reason is that it appears that staffs working on the serv aren't threated (not sure about this word, my bad) well, aren't paid enough for the amount of task and dedication they put in it. Also one of the french staff that plays "Pomme" has been quite abusively kicked from QSMP. I don't know how work Quackity and I hope they will improve their collaborators comfort.

I'm not directly from any of the communities in QSMP. The only CC I was actively watching was Jaiden (and BBH when he was posting on YT). Honestly, I understand the statement that Brazilians are loud. The culture is very different to mine and at times those differences clash. However, I wouldn't call brazilians any louder than the fans from the US; I find both cultures very reactive, and they are also both very large so the reactions can feel overwhelming to outsiders.
The other factor possibly adding to the feeling of loudness is the in-group-out-group thinking that is a big part of Brazilian culture (according to the single Brazilian I know personally who decided to leave their country, so I understand this might not be entirely true). Brazilians often seem to carry their nationality as a group identity (Mexicans do the same, I've noticed, but as stated, their presence is rather minor.) When they partake and view one community as their in-group, they are absolutely wonderful (even if I find them to be somewhat pushy), but also will jump to defend that in-group vehemently, which might cause clash. I don't feel animosity towards the Brazilians in BBH's community, which is my main POV. In fact, I've started to understand written Portuguese thanks to them.
Coming from a culture where patriotism and cultural pride is seen as something that should be done quietly and individually, I often find myself hoping that the Brazilian community would set QSMP as an ingroup higher in the "hierarchy" than the nationality since the server aims to unite different nations' communities. And yes, some Brazilians have accused me about allowing xenophobia before, when I told them not to bring the topic to the stream chats... I don't, to be clear, partake or accept any xenophobic acts even if I sometimes feel like I can't be heard through the passion that the Brazilians bring.
Also, this regards only the communities. I find no issues with the Brazilian CCs. Bagi is absolutely my pace; Cellbit (although I felt like he kind of overtook the Federation investigation with his intense hyperfixation, in the beginning) I love whenever I see him in any POV I watch; Pac I love, and while Mike can be very overwhelming for me, his chaos comes from place of caring. That is why I feel like most of my personal occasional discomfort with the community comes from the frequent barrage of national pride that feels rather isolating from where I'm standing.

I’m an avid English watcher simply because a lot of my viewing is done more passively and I’m on fluent in English. I’m also not involved in a lot of the extended fandom (ie twitter/reddit) so the only time I hear about drama like this is if someone like this wonderful creator takes the time to bring it to my attention or if a qsmp member mentions it themselves. It saddens me that some people can’t bring themselves to enjoy something like qsmp without tearing others down in some way. I hope in the future it becomes less of an issue and more of just a rough point in the qsmp history. I miss the Spanish creators but I understand that they have lives outside of this silly little block game and the French do deserve better. I think quackity and quackity studios are doing what they can as far as the community goes but they can’t micromanage millions of people online sadly but the streamers do what they can to keep it out of their own chats and it’s appreciated. I know I will continue to enjoy the server and even individual streamers I didn’t know about b4 the server as long as I’m welcome to.💜

I mean, french viewer here, i din't even knew things like that were happening. I'm just enjoying QSMP and can't even tel who is brazilian, spanish and problably some other people that i think are inglish but are just talking it... and the content is made by the persons who play QSMP i guess if the content shifted it's probably because there were not enought "OG deffenders" it's called evolution ; that's why we have republic, that black people are not slaves anymore, gay people can mary and many other things ...
In france we try to just not "give interest" to those people : they are here, they say things and you probably can't change theire minds because they don't want to, so we ignore them. It's content, if you are not happy just go watch something else because that will not change just for you.
The other topic about the frenchs position in the QSMP is not a situation that easy because we don't have that many streamers on minecraft, and on QMSP's french members there is essentialy Baguera and Aypierre. Because Etoile don't show up to often those times and same goes for Antoine. And the last one .... Kameto ... do half of the QSMP members realy know that this guys ever played ? probably not.
So, i'm gonna say it's already kind of an honnor to have french representativs (is that a word ?) on QSMP that we can't blame QS. It's like when someone cook for me, i won't say it's bad ... even if i think it is : because the only thing i did has been get sit and eat. If i wan't something better/different i'll do it myself or propose to bring help during the preparation.
Short story long : just enjoy the island (as it is)!

      Lo que parece, un "enfrentamiento" entre hispanos y brasileños, fue por diversas causas, diré algunas: el día de la independencia de México, muchos brasileños se quejaron en el post oficial, por no tener un evento de su país;

I have a small take on the thing about the br community
People be saying that the br community is way more toxic than any other (this started arround march) this can be presumed by 2 reason
1 the brazilians are way more numerous than any other comunity
2 said toxicity can be assumed to the to say the least "vulgar" common brazilian dialect (so brasilero tambem e posso afirmar que nois manda os outro tomanocu muito mais frequentemente doque o necessario)
This second part i always saw as what i call the brazilian online defense mecanism
This is a rabbit hole that i will not get into but for some reason brazilians get a lot of flack for no actual reason online and thus we developed this barrage of insults to go against this certain thing

It’s not the QSMP, and it’s not the fanbase/community or creators. It’s Twitter. I’m a Spanish viewer, and although not many Spanish speaker creators are still active on qsmp today, there’s a reason for that, and it’s Twitter. All massive communities eventually end up being toxic, specially if full of children (Minecraft attracts a lot of kids audiences). People fear the reaction on Twitter. On the internet everything gets amplified, even if it’s tiny or irrelevant. Ignorance and prejudice will always be an issue, but how you deal with this will change the outcome. In a productive, educating, non-aggressive way. But that’s impossible with Twitter. People should be allowed to be ignorant, no one is perfect. We all make mistakes. But Twitter culture forgives no one.
