Realheart is developing the world's first total artificial four-chamber heart that mimics the structure and function of the human heart, with a natural pulsating blood flow.
"The first patients to target are those that are on the waiting list for a heart transplant. The ten year European data shows that one patient dies for every three patients, that get a transplant. And these are unnecessary deaths that you can avoid with an artificial heart," said Ina Laura Perkins.
