    If I had a nickel for every time a pro player posted a video about a cool but mediocre budget deck and the prices for that deck proceeded to skyrocket, I'd have... well I'd probably have enough to buy a single copy of predapractice back when pros were hyping up branded predaplant...

    2:58 Nah, I think Skull Guardian is more likely to be reprinted in an OTS pack (like OTS 25) than in a Speed Duel product, especially as we don't even know when the next speed duel product will drop and there are two (already announced) opportunities before INFO where it could be in, the other being Terminal Revenge.

    The biggest thing about Nirvana is that it's a Spellcaster Tenpai can make to make Village live, which kills the deck's worst matchup, Runick.

      The whole point of making this is for going first. If you can activate Flashing Fire obviously the Tenpai player is going second and is not going to make this. People are not going to keep Secret Village when they are going second either.@@EpicKingofFail

    Majespecter 100% needs Kirin. Been playing the deck a little recently and you always feel like you’re missing one more monster to bring out with the engine because you summoned everything else already. It’s a massive hole in the strategy without Kirin

    Skull Guardian has to be part of the Mandela effect because I clearly remember it having a super rare printing when I was a kid. Can't remember what set though 🤔 guess we'll never know. Now we have to deal with a $190 rare 🙄

    One funny thing about Dinomorphia is that, if you activate dinomorphia intact, it completely shuts down tenpai--the card reads "you cannot die to battle damage this turn"

    • @zerolove02
      @zerolove02 Місяць тому +2

      Dinomorphia intact will only stop one monsters battle dmg from that battle (not battle phase), not all of them.

      @@grodon909 Would you like to?
      When a monster effect is activated, while you control a "Dinomorphia" card: Pay half your LP; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that monster, also whenever you take battle damage this turn, the damage taken becomes half your LP at that time. During damage calculation, while your LP are 2000 or less, if you would take battle damage: You can banish this card from your GY; you take no battle damage from that battle. You can only activate 1 "Dinomorphia Intact" per turn.
      This is entirely different than what was said.
      So you could sit at 1 HP and then still lose anyway due to dinomorphia just being trash and you'll likely get burned for the dmg anyways or have no follow up for next turn.

      I think you might be unfamiliar with dinomorphia.
      My original comment is true. Tenpai mainly does a ton of battle damage, not much burn damage. The reason I say that intact says that you cannot die to battle damage this turn is because that's more or less exactly what it says. No matter how much battle damage tenpai can deal, if intact was activated that turn, they cannot bring your lifepoints to 0.
      Burn damage is a concern for dinomorphia, but only if a deck has an accessible way to cause repetitive burn damage. The normal traps all prevent effect damage for the turn, so as long as you have a single dinomorphia normal trap in the GY, you can ignore the burn damage most decks can do. The gameplan for dinomorphia involves getting out a big fusion monster or two, which uses their fusion trap, a normal trap card.
      Effectively, what this means is that Dinomorphia has a unique advantage against Tenpai dragons. Tenpai is a going second deck, that tries to deal a ton of damage in the battle phase and OTK; Dinomorphia intact completely prevents them from winning via that mechanism, at least for a turn, and doesn't have a way to consistently do enough burn damage to overcome Dinomorphia traps. It's a worse deck because it's a trap deck, but it actually is a little stronger than normal in that matchup because it gets to go first.
      I'm not saying Dinomorphia is a strong meta archetype or anything--it's a liability with current time rules; but I'm also not saying that it's trash. All I'm saying is that Intact in a Dinomorphia deck basically hard-counters Tenpai's entire playstyle; and that the important part of intact is the first effect, not the GY effect that you posted first.

    • @babrad
      @babrad Місяць тому

      @@zerolove02 - op said "you cannot die to battle damage this turn" when you use "dinomorphia intact".
      - you said "Dinomorphia intact will only stop one monsters battle dmg from that battle (not battle phase), not all of them." even pasting the 2nd effect not reading the lingering part of the 1st effect.
      So it's pretty clear you just didn't read the card (dinomorphia intact) properly and the rest about the deck being "trash" (it's certainly not meta and tops at tier 2 if I'm generous) are just semantics so you won't admit you were wrong on your initial comment.
      Yet the wording for Dinomorphia will be very annoying for Tenpai. Rexterm says "Your opponent cannot activate" so it stops them from activating their effects even under the field spell protecting them. The once per Duel revives mean if you loop 2 Intact the opponent is immediately out of gas while it is a solid counter to Black Rose nuking the board (if it can even activate under Rex).

      The trap specifically says you can, theres been updated rulings to cheating out rit monsters since way back when. A good rule of thumb for two cards is that they supercede rules more blatantly than quick plays and monster effects

      Look up rulings for ritual foregone

    • @babrad
      @babrad Місяць тому

      Official ruling:
      Generally speaking, Ritual Monsters in your hand and/or Deck can only be Special Summoned by Ritual Summoning them. However, as an exception, they can also be Special Summoned by effects that ignore their Summoning Conditions.
      Additionally, if there is no text on the Ritual Monster that limits the ways in which it can be Special Summoned, the Ritual Monster can also be Special Summoned by an effect that specifically allow you to Special Summon a Ritual Monster.
      ("Effects that specifically allow you to Special Summon a Ritual Monster" include Ritual Foregone, Aquamirror Illusion, Buerillabaisse de Nouvelles, Confiras de Nouvelles, Poeltis de Nouvelles, Foie Glasya de Nouvelles, Balameuniere de Nouvelles, Baelgrill de Nouvelles, and Sauravis, Dragon Sage of the Voiceless Voice.)
      However, even if the Ritual Monster is Special Summoned by one of the above exceptional methods, this will not be treated as properly Special Summoning the Ritual Monster. (If the monster Special Summoned this way is then sent to the Graveyard, or banished, it then cannot be Special Summoned, except by Ritual Summon.)
