Funny thing about 13 Sentinels is the fandom almost never answers questions because time not being a straight line is a major theme where ones decisions can cause the story to jump between the 13 sentienels in a different order, or cause changes in the 13 stories which themselves each embody a different sci-fi trope. Its one of those games that became famous because its so unique in execution and concept there's nothing similar you can compare it to
You guys were right on guesses when you said it was a tactical rpg and especially that ending bit showing the results and your points overall very fun video love hearing 13 sentinels tracks whenever they come up very fun sci fi game that basically mech vs robot combat
we cant really explain the game without spoilers, just think of it as a Sci-fi love letter to the genre. The most vague we can get is "schoolkids with robots" but it is scraping the surface of its amazing narrative. you can listen to the Branched version of the soundtrack which was re-arranged by the same studio in a faster rithmic and honestly is one of my favourite videogames album ever. the same music leader was responsible for Vagrant Story OST so maybe you can hear some similarities with that game too. The game was nominated for Best Videogame Narrative in 2020 alongiside The Last of Us 2 (which ended up gettin the Award) but I really believe 13 Sentinels had the chance to get the well deserved Award. There are really few games that can count on 13 stories (or perspectives, atleast) and managed to get a stunning game that in the end is not overly complicated (the story get convulsed in the beginning/middle part and fantastically makes sense at the end) . Maybe the combact system (a tower defense-ish type of gameplay) is not everyones cup of tea but i really suggest to give the game a possibilty.

All of the soundtrack is Fire. The story is one of the best in gaming period.
