Those were a long 3 seconds.
His tutorial isn't supposed to be 3 seconds, when YOU test your glasses it will be 3 seconds. Ass Dumb
Oh my god..

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
not worthy Free information has value
Lol
Learnjng is 2 min 30 seconds, but doint it in real life is 3 sec, geez these old comments are too salty
Got mine recently. Was scared if they weren't polarized. Your test proved me wrong! Kudos for the good work.
You can also use a second known polarized lens, from another pair of glasses for example, and you basically do the same thing. You look through both lenses, and then as you're looking through both of them, you turn one lens 90°. If both lenses are polarized, then they will be relatively transparent, and light will go through both of them when the polarization of both lenses are aligned in the same direction, but when the lens's polarization are 90° to each other, they will turn opaque and not let any light through.
Best video on shades ever!! I just bought cheap one yet doubting if it’s really polarized or not. And yes, I have real polarized pair. Thank you!
What are the benefits of buying polarised pair?
You said you need to use an LCD display and you used an AMOLED one...
This method works both on LCD and AMOLED screens.
true
It shouldn't work on AMOLED screens at all -- they do not need polarizing filters. it's possible some manufacturers install them for optical clarity, whereas in LCDs they are fundamental to the way the technology works.
If you do this with an LCD screnn, the LCD will go COMPLETELY black. This is the best way to test, as it is very, very obvious if they're polarized.
Rafal Iwanczuk I was thinking the same thing watching this on my galaxy.
Rafal Iwanczuk
I worked as an optician and all you have to do is look outside and look at a hot spot on a car or something shiny, and if it diminishes almost completely they’re polarized.
Thank you!!!
Tried that today and got slapped.
Looking into the sun still hurts, I'm taking these back
@@CigsInABlanketMaui Jim... you won't be disappointed or damned.
Are a cheap gas station polarized lense equivalent to high end polarized lenses from oakley or Ray-ban etc??
Thanks for this post. You´re an angel. I plan on buying polarized. I wanted to make sure there is a check system
This video was great at explaining the difference of lenses. Thank you!

dodgeplow thank u
@@riyaan1993 Thank you!
Thank you!
Thankyou man
Thank u
That was super easy....thank you!
Thanks for that explanation. Was remembering people complaining polarized making phones turn black and my coworker checking out my new prescription sunglasses and noticing they could see their phone screen when I mentioned they were polarized and started to worry the dealer didn't hear me say I wanted them polarized
A much easier way is using a common calculator quartz screen, turn calculator on, press some random numbers and do the same, screens turns all black on polarized.
How would i be able to find my favorite dg sun glasses that i purchased 1 year ago but i lost them on vacation and i don't know the model number, i just have a clear discription
Thank you. That was quick and easy to test my new polarized sun glasses
You can also look at tinted car windows. Not after market film tinting, but the kind that is built into the glass. When you look at the window through polarized glasses you will see diamond shapes.
Or not at all. Depends on who makes the glass.
Short to the point. This is rare these times.
thanks :)
my polarized glasses at horizontal position does block all screen and when i tilt head left or right it brightens, so yea kind of different experience or maybe ray bans got shit polarization
That’s true! I found the colors changing weird at first haha but I have the best vision with them on while driving on sunny days. 😎☀️
This works great! Thanks. I wasn't sure if some lenses I bought on Ebay were really polarized but they are! Yippee I got a deal. 👍☮️🌞👓
Wow, didn't know my 4 year old prescription oakley glasses were polarized untill now. thank you!
3 SECONDS ISN'T 3 MINUTES!!!!!!!!
Re: how to tell if sunglasses are "polarized", there is another simple test: if you have one pair of polarized glasses, you can place a 2nd pair of lenses behind (so you are looking thru both lenses at the same time. If aligned on the same plane, turn the bottom ( ? lense) 45 degrees (either Ryan. Or lt.). If this blocks out ALL light thru the lenses, the questionable lenses are polarized. The reason being that polarized lenses block light in one direction. If light travels thru both lenses initially, turning one lenses. Perpendicular to the other will block all light telling you that both lenses are "polarized".
if u have a LCD monitor, wear your sunglasses while looking at the screen, then tilt your head left and right. If the monitor darken, u have a polarized glasses.
Thanks! Just done that. It works for me. I have polarized Rayban Aviator. :)
@@navhayer3 Mine gets completely dark when I tilt on the right side, and gets brighter when i tilt on the other side. I bought them from china...
Jack T lol
this is true 3 seconds
Mine are darker when sideways, is it just badly designed or just as effective?
Very good, thank you. There is no way I would have thought of that.
how much are the Polarized version you had in the vid, i have thos exact same ones on rn but i cant seem to find a value for em, i can only find a value for the non polarized
I have polarized optical sunglasses as you showed in the video the lense of glass full or little bit coming black but in my glasses it comes in broken portion dark black color. So why it is like that tell me sir please?
Is it normal that one lens is polarized at a different angle than the other one? (Whenever I see a display, even the ones on my car's dashboard, both lenses receive a different amount of light, making an effect akin to the one caused by the 3D glasses in movie theaters)
Thanks for all advices!
Help me a lot
Cheers from homebase bali))
just found classes)
Thanks for the valuable information, but I want to ask, I see through the polarized sunglasses the sun reflected in the glass of cars in the form of a blue dot. Isn't this a blue light pass to the eye and is it dangerous؟ Thanks again
Great trick, dude! Mine get a complete dark blank at 90 degrees.
I love how he says have a great day, you don’t
hear that these days on UA-cam, it’s people
shoving down your throat to like and subscribe
You can also use a pair of polarized sunglasses. Look through one pair while rotating the other. The lens will you are looking at will turn dark and light depending on the angle you turn it. If no darking/ lightening then one pair isn’t polarized.
Thank you for the information..You have a great Day
Thanks for sharing this idea. It is a great help.
Very nice !!! Easy to verify. Great tutorial !!!
you could alternatively just wear your sunglasses and tilt your smartphone display at odd angles whilst looking at it.. if you see areas on screen that are non uniform in terms of color or brightness it is polarized
THIS WAS THE MOST HELPFUL WAY TO FIGURE OUT.
JUST TILTED MY PHONE AND SAW THE SHADES CHANGING THROUGH GLASSES.
When i rotated my VINCENT CHASE glass it was an absolute black out😅.
This doesn't always work.
Really useful. Thanks!
Just seen your video, simply USEFUL. Thanks a lot. Keepup
One of the best videos I ever seen,👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
How can anyone give a dislike! That is straightforward valuable info. I’d bet that the disljets will secretly use that technique though!
Because there glasses didn't pass the test of polarization!😅
Will this trick work with led screens like AMOLED, sAMOLED?
Love my Oakley polarized sunglasses, every fishing trips they are with me
That was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing mate!
Excellent! Quick and easy.
so as long as the color shifts slightly gets darker or lighter the glasses are polarized?
Good to know! I learned something today!
clear and fast explanation thanks for your effort
Adjustable angle polarizer sunglasses are best !!! Is there a trade-off between UV protection & glare protection?
Thanks for this quick hack... It helps
That was a cool effect! Thanks!
and i was wondering why i cant see anything when my smartphone is horizontal
I just bought Oakley batwolfs on the Letgo app. They were advertised as non polarized soft grey lenses but when I perform this test on my LG LCD TV the lenses fade out to almost all black at around clockwise 2:15 angle. Are they polarized? I payed $50 and theyre mint. The pretty girl seller said that the boyfriend she broke up with a year ago left them at her place and that they were never used once. She said they have been collecting dust in a drawer for a year. Her loss my gain?
So what if mine are only darker when in vertical position and not horizontal.
ME TOO! Are ours made incorrectly or something?
@@rickyrixon Lol wish I knew. I like my pair but b the fact it's not likeb these still bothers me.
Can you get non polarized lenses that still have UVA and UVB protection.
Thank you so much. How I know how to tell the difference.
Before the advent of the smart phone...we did exactly this but instead of using a smart phone "lens" as the 2nd lens...we held up the questionable sunglasses up to another pair of ACTUAL polarized lenses. If they turn darker (or blackout) as you rotated....you knew the 'questionable' sunglasses now passed the test and are actually polarized. *(I realize most people know this...but there might be a 16 yr old or really young person who doesn't know this.)
Thank you, very easy and good video.
Excellent tip ! Bravo !
Thanks for the idea..... Didn't know this...
Excellent tip, thank you!
Thanx a lot dude, just checked to see if my cheap sunglasses (25 usd) are polarised. and they are..
what ink is used to make those test cards in shop
Which one is better sun glasses in sun light
unless it's an amoled display, those are uneffected by polarized sunglasses completely. no color shift or brightness change.
just bought a 400 dollar pair..this works on both my tv and my laptop..not only do mine get darker as i rotate them, they completely block the picture. awsome tip.great video.
empire mica Luxoticca says thank you
I tested it on my phone (Samsung galaxy a5 2017, clearly an amoled) and it went completely dark, while my friend's Xperia m5 (ips lcd) wasn't affected
I have no idea what you're talking about
I bought polarized sunglasses but Im struggling looking at the screen of my iphone 13promax because of the rainbow effect? does screenprotector affects the polarized rainbow effect? can you help?
Wow thanks for the tip I’ll check mine
TIL!!! Such a neat little trick to learn if a pair is polarized. 7 yrs late but TY!!
Can anyone tell me if it darkens whether you tilt to the right or left. Mine only darkens when I tilt right. Thanks
Thank you so much. It really helped.
Very Helpful , thanks
My prescription lens is polarized but it has a burnt like shade on the sides is this normal? It has no effect whatsoever on vision though...
It worked fine, thank you
Works with any LCD panels not Samsung AMOLED PenTile matrix displays.
LCD will show up almost black.
how we can get that image?? to put in our cellphones to test , please share us
Hi is it the ray ban pictures how can I get the pictures on my phone Thank you
Is the photo you used to check need to specific or just a random pic
My €4.50 shades are actually polarised very surprised aliexpress you beauty👌
Great test bro
Great.. make a video on Airforce military sun glasses too
Thanks. They helped. Bought cheap pol sunglasses but they actually are. So thanks

super easy thank you
Legend! Needed that
Thank you 😊❤️
thanka granda bro for charing impotunt fedio..😊😊
Any image works.
That is so cool! I got polarized sunglasses about a week ago. When I aim at my phone screen and rotate the glasses my screen goes completely black.
Hello! How much? It can be use for senior?
That's a really cool trick
actually pretty useful
Mine get Dark when you turn them but it doesn't change color like yours did.
this is like the call from the wife while in the pub . “I’ll be home in 5 minutes “ ..........🤣
0:27 Well... Old CRT TVs and new OLED/AMOLED TVs or Smartphones have pixels but aren't necessarily polarized. Even LCD displays aren't all the same. All in all, it's a reasonable way to test your sun glasses. But if you don't have this effect, that doesn't necessarily mean you're sun glasses aren't polarized...
Cool and practic vid!!
I just see to a neon light, or any reflex on windows or even confront two polarized, and there's the point where there's no image, 'cause they block all the light.
I can"t live without polarized at outdoors, since I got the fist ones (arnette) 25 years ago. It"s funnu how some people love polarized (me) and some peole just don't get use to them (my wife).
Thanx !!
