When a Highlander kills another, they absorb their power. The villain has killed all the other Highlanders, while the hero has slain none. He should be absolutely no match for the villain of this series!
This cartoon uses a loophole where Quintin holds the sword with an Immortal. Through this soul exchange, the Highlander gains knowledge and power while the Immortal becomes mortal. With enough of those, he'll be strong enough to match Kortan who'd been getting his knowledge the old fashioned way for centuries.
They're not all called Highlanders. They're Immortals. Highlander is a nickname for members of the clan Macleod, because they're from the Highlands of Scotland.
this show was great and had a lot of potential to tie into the tv series and movies. its a shame that in order to see the conclusion you have to play the video game of the same name on the atari jaguar and that is pretty pricey
