Once if you're lucky, an artist appears that is so talented it's almost unbelievable. Such was the case with Alan Price. A smash from the 60's! FANTASTIC backing horns too!

IT's great to see some interviews of Alan Price as there aren't many on UA-cam ! I think Alan Price is one of the most underrated artists of Britain .

Agreed! His early to mid 70s albums are superb. I’ve seen him live a couple of times in more recent years - a very, very funny man, and a very talented musician.

At this point (1975) his accent is still so thick you could cut it with a knife. Malcolm McDowell jokes about it years later during the making of O LUCKY MAN..he does a funny quick impression of Alan...the guy is brilliant, no argument.

I met Malcolm at a convention last year, and he was talking about being good friends with Eric. Wish I’d asked him about Alan!

Alan is a great keyboard player. I enjoyed him when he was part of the group “The Animals.” He’s a talented guy, but I enjoyed his Animal’s period more so than his Cabaret period, he sure is talented.

In the 70s Nick van Eede toured with Alan; would you have any videos of Nick? Thank you!

when he left the Animals- he was in NY with bob Dylan-he was one of the greatest organ players in the 60's-his organ solo's are incredible-he put the Vox continental on the musical map

@@crazypainter56 Yep. The fact he was the only one who refused to take part in the big interview on Uncut just says it all. The Animals are hometown heroes for me, but that situation is utterly lamentable. ‘Price’ is a fitting surname.

@@DeanH92 I never knew about the interview on Uncut-I saw another interview with the guys and as soon as the interviewer brought up-thotrs-Alan started making faces and was getting real uneasy and said 'do we have to talk about it-and ignored most any questions -he even took credit for the way Hilton played it -he said "he taught Hilton to play the song-" Alan used to walk off stage -he thought it was corny-he would not play it -according to Chas-- they only played about 6 times before it was recorded
