As an actor myself, Matthew McConaughey is someone I’ve idolized for a while now. Throughout high school, I was only casted as the funny best friend or idiot, and was told that I wasn’t leading man material no matter how hard I tried to be exactly that. Now I’m in college and going into the second semester of my sophomore year and I’m finally getting looked at for more complex characters and getting chances to play leading men at callbacks. A lot of my drive comes from Matthew.
@@SavvyMuhon I really appreciate your support! I don’t have a demo reel right now but I have a running resume with all of my roles on it. I’ve considered starting a page where I can showcase things that I’ve learned or things that I’m working on, but I haven’t fully committed to that yet. Sometimes I’ll go to the basement of my school’s library late at night to get an empty classroom and try to connect my blocking with everything that I’m saying.
As a 1 season thing. Yes. I'm with you. Mr. Robot is my favorite personally. All 4 seasons are essentially perfection in my eyes. Yes, it's an opinion. I know some of yall who read this will say something stupid. It's okay if you don't agree with me. That's life.
@@Magdalena8008sdo you think they're all equally good? I'm genuinely curious. I thought 2 would've been considered great if it wasn't following 1 (colin ferrell was outstanding and i still tear up watching the scene where he talks to his dad in purgatory in his dream), but I couldn't get through 3.
Wow, what a breakdown, I loved the romcom era because it was so easy to watch, directors loved it more because it was a blueprint for short success. But then it got rinsed and people wanted something new. For actors it’s really hard for them to transition out of genres you’re specifically known for but to rebrand completely and succeed twice in value is no easy feat. He isn’t known for romcoms at all anymore👏 can only admire greatness
His performance in true detective has to be one of the best I've seen from anyone. Hard to imagine he hasn't been in those types of roles his whole career!
As someone who wants to be an actor your channel recently has been invaluable to me. I tend to get really easily winded by the industry sometimes so your videos the last few weeks have been rejuvenating me, Thank you. So much. I’ll remember you when I make it. Or maybe it’ll be the other way round!
so, the first movie I ever saw with Matthew McConaughey was Reign of Fire. He did NOT look charming and handsome in that movie, but he was the hero and impressive. I went on with my life, and then saw him in something romantic like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Wow...charming, handsome, intelligent. And he was on my radar. THEN I watched Angels in the Outfield for the umpteenth time and he is in that movie! He had a couple of lines even and was on camera quite a bit. I remember thinking how odd it was to see this superstar playing a background character...and I'm happy for him that he made it big. He deserves it. He is one of the good ones.
this video is well edited, it has precise commentary and (inter)stellar (sorry) interweaving of commentary and clips. you've clearly researched this super well and i really enjoyed the video !!
I have watched two videos so far and I already love this channel. I love the breakdowns, the appreciation for an actor's work, the soft narration, earned a sub!
This is my 3rd video in a row I just watched of yours! I couldn’t stop watching these. It’s inspiring to see these videos as a video editor i am taking notes 🙌🏼
True Detective's first season, I feel, would have been vastly different without the total dedication of the cast and crew, not the least of which would be McConaughey.
Wow these videos are really impressive. I honestly don’t understand how you don’t have a bigger audience. Keep it up because it’s only a matter of time.
@manoskallios1321 mmmh, there were several if I remember correctly 😅 They were from the Greats. Satie was one of them, I think. Or Shostakovich. Or both 😅
I think the scenes of him crying in Interstellar are the most gutwrenching scenes ive seen of a man in film crying. It feels so incredibly genuine and raw. He's such a force to be reckoned with and im so glad he got out of the com rom rut he was stuck in . I feel bad for all the actors that never get to break out of type casting trap. Also, Matthew is so incredibly sexy which is an added bonus. He has so much sex appeal , more than most actors .
Man, Renzy bro, I feel for you. It must be incredibly frustrating putting all this effort into your vids and the view count being completely random. Just looking at your page, I can't tell if your channel is about to blow up or not. The algorithm just doesn't seem to know what to do with ya!
Rom-com roles were also bound to dry up as he got older, so going for more dramatic, character-driven roles was less of a choice than an imperative, if he wanted to continue as an actor.
yea..when i watch Dallas Buyers Club, and watch Wolf next, i knew Matthew will win come on man...that role fit perfectly for him and what matters most, it touches many people
Funny how jlo and McConaughey started out in dramas and worked with great directors until they started doing rom coms for a decade, until they got Oscar buzz for playing strippers (Magic Mike, hustlers)
Matt has always had an alternative series of films in his rom-com era that did show his range and proof that he could do other projects Frailty, Amistad, Sahara, A Time To Kill etc.
Funny because I don't remember ghost of girlfriends past at all, and I haven't thought about wedding planning since I watched when came out when I think about him. Yes, he did some RomCom but the variety since day one and way more interesting characters he played.
Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio very well might be the greatest living actors...and all of them are still active. What an unbelievable treat!?!
I know it’s “I’m not like other girls” syndrome, but I started to like him when he played Rustin Cohle (which is at least his top 3 characters to play)
I thought the other day, Matthew McConaughey is one of the few people I know of that basically have a real-life catchphrase. It helps that he plays into it too
really enjoy your channel, but there’s a distinct lack of acknowledgement of women in your videos. kinda weird. do you have any female actresses or directors you really enjoy/respect?
That stupid song 0:37 seconds into the video made me like "yeah, i get that you new but don't copy other "creators", you don't need that shitty song, just a good mic
@@Renzy_YT that's an excuse to justify that pretty much everybody uses that song because it's classical? Not because it's used everywhere and for some people will be like the main point into liking the video because they hear a familiar sound?

I love his iconic line “pew, pew, pew”
How did you know I wanted a mathew video?

Would love a jake gyllenhaal and ryan gosling video

I hate that Sahara always gets overlooked. it was such an awesome action flick. felt like an indiana jones / uncharted movie

The Gentlemen is my favorite most recent one of his films

The fact that not one clip of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen is in the video is unacceptable to me. But amazing content other than that
