its fairly easy, its just automatic, i can play them while singing, dont exactly know how i managed but i guess its just repetition and playing the notes on the exact time all the time, you build muscle memory to just do it sub consciously i guess
@@tbhc415 well teddy picker is only on 2 strings and if Alex misses a note or stops, Jamie is playing the same thing so its ok but with crying lightning Alex is playing up to 3 strings, using 4 fingers and Jamie isn’t playing the same thing and it also took me much longer to be able to play crying lightning while singing than teddy picker
First: nick plays the BASS guitar Second: Some awesome guitar players play with their guitar strap really high, like Tom Morello, or the guitarrist from Living Colour, for example. Third: He plays lead guitar because it's easier to play and sing, jamie plays mostly fills that are easy to play, but really hard to play them and sing. Fourth: This is INDIE ROCK, not virtuoso music, you won't find finger tapping solos here, cause that's the way the want it to be, not because they can't.
Because they are appealing to the listener to get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook. Not the other way around. If you had said "four people are still on the bandwagon reading the handbook" it would have made sense.
I don't even know the hardest song that I can play...because I just learn random songs often that my brother teaches me. I've only been playing for like a few months. but I was able to play no problem within 2 weeks or so. and of course I don't mind. I accepted ;)
aww that's very sad. :( I feel your pain. well actually I don't. but still. and well it's not common in the USA I don't think. but thank youuu, I've never liked it but I'm glad someone thinks it's beautiful. lol :) and I just pause the video everytime I get on here because I'm listening to other songs. haha but we filled the whole freaking page. go us!
Yes so can I. but it took me like 5 minutes to just sit there and do it over and over again till I got it. I guess it wasn't that hard. but still never learned to play Lithium.. yet.
@StratocasterJoe sorry but have you ever actually seen a bronco? because its obviously a strat and not a bronco because it has a 5 way selector switch, strat pickguard, three pick ups and a strat body shape. this video was recorded before he even got his black bronco and even if it was his bronco why would he make so many mods to make it exactly the same as his black mexican strat?
well yea it wasn't THAT hard I suppose. It was difficult though. My brother taught me the guitar part and I already knew the words but it took me a bit of practice to be able to say, "despair up to the point where they provoke....etc" while playing the guitar part.
wtf??? i thought for a moment i´'m in the waltons' show when i read the comments on this one page - this is not fuckin city supaware meeting - who the fuck wants to read this flock of seaguls kinda shit - like for twenty times to read on one page good night, goin sleep - dear god
@simonisCRUNK Black and white mexican fender stratocaster, with white diles and pickups You'll av to put your own pickguard on though, for it to be all black
It's real hard to sing and play songs like teddy picker and fake tales but if you practice A LOT you can do it. Well, I can. haha. I guess that's what Alex did.
Yup, Alex dresses exactly like my grandpa and his brothers did back in '61, per photographs my family kept, when he was 22 and working on cars. Only difference being that my pops belonged to the original greaser subculture, and wasn't from Rotherham.
I love how Jamie looks like he's struggling when they all sing "kick me out".
He's so shy and cute.
love him.
I never understood how he can play the riffs of "Fake Tales" and "Teddy Picker" while singing perfectly?
Must be plenty of practice plus talent :D
its fairly easy, its just automatic, i can play them while singing, dont exactly know how i managed but i guess its just repetition and playing the notes on the exact time all the time, you build muscle memory to just do it sub consciously i guess
It gets quite easy after a while of doing it, teddy picker is definitely the easiest but crying lightning is the hardest I’d say
@@murrayfarmvids9630 id say its the other way round for me dk if its just me or anything
0:39 I like how Jamie steps forward like 'YES... MY TIME...'
Como se extraña esos viejos artics
anyone tried playing the riff whilst singing. He has real talent tbh.
Love them!
alex looks so adorable in those hoodies.
i love them!!!!!!
the best band

so badass
Me too dude. I was in middle school then, now I'm graduating.
Just good tunes.
@CurtinBones for sure! crying lightning it's almost impossible.

ART IMITATES LIFE ??

Vox AC30 + Fender Stratocaster = Heaven
Fuck yeaaaaaaaah!
this is such a good fucking song!

alright. nighty night ;)
I agree. Gracias por el dato, boludo.

yea Nirvana has some ridiculously easy songs too. and fun to learn too. I love bands like that.
i know they alot of drumers but this one is sure a very good one
aww that's very sad. :( I feel your pain.

@StratocasterJoe dude thats a strat
@dixon247366 dude, you can change the pickups of a guitar.. big wow.
@dixon247366 i feel like honey is being poured in my ears.
does anyone know if alex is playing with a lonestar strat its such an awesome guitar
where and when did they make this performance... I see there's more than just one video :S:S:S
FUCKING LMAOOOOOO.
he does :D
Yes so can I. but it took me like 5 minutes to just sit there and do it over and over again till I got it. I guess it wasn't that hard. but still
never learned to play Lithium.. yet.
@gamizuco what about in general.. crying lightning and singing?
andy did have a right arm of steel but nick is still good
@robbie0507
Would it not be life imitating art in this case?
@StratocasterJoe its a strat, it has three pick ups
dude but.. lead guitar and singing is harder.. to me at least
It's all practice.
Does anyone know where is this? When did they record it? Can I get it in DVD? Thanks!
I live in Pennsylvania. I hope that's specific enough ;) haha.

well maybe like.. 10 minutes. but I just kept playing and attempting to sing it. it all worked out eventually ;) haha
well yea it wasn't THAT hard I suppose.

i prefer nick to andy, he gets involved more if im honest! but there playing is just as good as each others!
Whatever people say I am that's what I'm not
you have to understand that alex is who writes all the songs so even if jamie played lead he would still just be playing what alex wrote
wtf??? i thought for a moment i´'m in the waltons' show when i read the comments on this one page - this is not fuckin city supaware meeting - who the fuck wants to read this flock of seaguls kinda shit - like for twenty times to read on one page good night, goin sleep - dear god

what guitar does alex use here?
Joshua Charleston Its a black fender strat, black pick guard, maple fretboard and neck.
@ahlightning5 cool just wondering
Is this really that long ago, that the old bassist still was in the band? When was this 'gig'??
2005 or 06
How tall is Alex?
Like, I know that is kind've lame to ask, but he always seems small but when they play he looks the tallest.
So just wondering.
5'6- 5'7
Matt is the tallest at 6’2
5'7 or 5'8, they are not very tall but i think Matt is the tallest.
I miss Andy Nicholson
Fender Stratocaster MIM?
@ahlightning5 how can you tell its mexican?
Am I the only one who wonders why Jamie Cook doesn't do backing vocals anymore?
I wonder they same thing.. he should sing again in their next album..
Mr. Burns He stopped singing when Nick came hahahaha
Those were the times that there are still 3 microphones on the front :(
well it's cause alex has a huge ego now
lyna zidane that’s sounds like a lot of hoopla
You've got the meaning backwards.
mmmmm
It's real hard to sing and play songs like teddy picker and fake tales but if you practice A LOT you can do it. Well, I can. haha. I guess that's what Alex did.
looks like a fender telecaster
United States. shall I be more specific? lol
and you?
@EoinLfc09 i prefer nick too!
that means they're good lmao
I think it's a Strat, not sure though...
Shame they became a fake tale from san francisco lol
Ishmael Forester why?
went from Sheffield boys to american greasers
Yup, Alex dresses exactly like my grandpa and his brothers did back in '61, per photographs my family kept, when he was 22 and working on cars. Only difference being that my pops belonged to the original greaser subculture, and wasn't from Rotherham.
Yeah but his bird thinks it's amazing, though
So all that's left
Is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf
dont compare alex and jamie.cmon
@CurtinBones not thaaaaaat hard.
this looks like the strokes :/
