'buying less has allowed me to focus on buying better' YES I CANNOT AGREE NO MORE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE. when i buy less, I always search for better quality items in order for it to last longer!
I am trying to be more minimalist, but I don’t think I will ever stop buying books! They make me so happy, I love to read them again and again and I have a growing collection which I love. I nearly always get them second-hand (unless it’s a textbook or something recent that doesn’t have many second-hand options) and I love to buy the really old books that nobody else seems to want... if it has loose pages or a broken spine, that just adds to its character! My favourite old book is from 1850, and I bought it for £2 because it “had a sun-damaged spine”. Who cares‽! I am happy to be minimalist in every other way, and books are something that make me happy :D “Have nothing in your house that you do not believe to be useful, or find to be beautiful.” I’m paraphrasing, but originally by William Morris (I think!)
your channel is so refreshing, I wish I could declutter faster but I'm having a hard time with my allergies:( thanks for making this journey easier tho, you're very inspiring 🌱
I'm still sort of decluttering/organizing and using up old stuff. But I am trying to be more mindful with my purchases since I am trying to save up to buy property next year to rent out one side and I love in the other, Lord Willing.
Congratulations on 100K subscribers!👏Great practical and thoughtful tips. Your videos are always so helpful and make me feel more motivated to live a simple lifestyle. 😊
Congratulations Christine !! So proud of you and your 100k ! Loved the video as always especially the experience part. Wishing you a wonderful end of the week.
I still buy books but I plan to sell or donate most of them when I've finished reading them. I also buy ebooks because they are cheaper than physical books sometimes.
I'm a Christian, so we often like to do daily bible readings to get in the right headspace in the morning. I usually do a few bible verses, observations, an application and prayer that gets me off on the right foot (:
Weird question; why are you using the carpet head of the Dyson on your laminate floors? It uses more energy than the head meant for non-carpet floors & there isn’t much of a difference in how quickly it cleans in my experience.
I used to do that too coz I hadn't read the manual properly and by looking at it,other head was more like for carpet one😁.. Till my husband told me.. Love this hoover... Battery just not last cleaning for 5 rooms at the same time😉
If you don't buy physical notebook and use it, you will forget to write. Notice that if I don't write for a couple of months starting to forget to write /grammarly and legible/. So people don't stop writing!
Sorry, but a "minimalist" accepting sponsorship from a SHOPPING app provider....no, thanks...... "Minimalism"-no matter how you define it for yourself-should be a lifestyle aside from consumerism.....not a turn towards it..
There are certain items you would want to shop for so I don’t see the problem. An example would be me replacing my garden boots. Why is this bothering you, too sensitive? Perhaps a minimum of EMPATHY might be in order.
@@MaryLovesLex Too me, minimalism is defined as living with the things you need-without excess. This means different things to everyone, and I am not promoting "non-consumerism". I was pointing out that it is hypocritical that most (though not all) "minimalists" are "selling" stuff through their videos.. What has empathy to do with anything?
Things I still buy: Things that make everyday easier and more enjoyable. Things that spark joy over a very long time or serve a hobby.

I use a bidet in my home I installed myself. No toilet paper needed. I use reusable wash clothes cut in half and quarters. Helps save so much money.

Absolutely!! (: Love that you can find joy and charm in those books!
That's my weakness too lol 📚❤
keeping things you enjoy isn't wrong. means the book you purchase is intentional. and more other than that, it makes you happy :))
You can always buy ebooks and not worry about physical clutter

I just find that it picks up Cooper's hair and dust better, even though we don't have our rug anymore! Just personal preference (:

How about buying electronic gadgets cellphone or laptop? Are you buying second hand or brand new one?
I would prefer getting a secondhand/refurbished electronic from the original manufacturer!

Eyyyy I'm early, love you christine!!
I prefer to buy things that are multipurpose so I don’t have to own multiple things.
That app shop tageer was presented in shark tank.😓😓 They used the girl ideas and create this app wow.
Is anyone else's mom angry at you for wanting to give away stuff every day? Cant wait to move out some day
the irony of a minamalist promoting a SHOPPING PLATFORM

That's your personal choice. It makes you happy. There's no one size fits all minimalistic living and it's a continuous journey to some people.
