I've stayed at arm's length since then, but recently added a copy of Anita Ward's Songs Of Love album to my collection. There is a place for disco in the world, if only a guilty pleasure. Cheers!

Hello from New Zealand. Im in my sixties, and started going to Discos in 1977. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was charting then and I remember dancing to the Bee Gees. I had their Main Course album 1975, which had a soulful funky sound. I own alot of Disco music compilations. Chic I like very much and Rose Royce who were commercially successful were cool too. The Tramps are my favorite Disco band. Their hit Disco Inferno was on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Thanks for giving us samples of tracks from your collection. From Carl.
Yes! Sylvester was an amazing artist, and even though he's known for the disco hits, he has some really fantastic soul records and gets really funky as well. That side of his music can be overlooked, although there seems to be a but more appreciation of his work these days. Cheers!
Generally I'm very happy to take a risk on any cheap or unfamiliar looking disco record in the hope that something weird or wonderful might be on there. I've got the Yambu lp you showed, think there are a couple on that one I really liked. Found this last year when I was in Cyprus, absolutely delighted with that.
