There was a few others doing a Funky head bob and sway as they shopped as well. I miss watching Soul Train on Saturdays.

We really enjoyed and celebrated each others differences. How did we lose that harmony and togetherness? People gotta try to get it back together!

took me decades to find where they filmed the movie, but one day when i had nothing to do before work i found the place. it was on 6th st and cross street is Rampart. basically it's all people from El Salvador but there are a lot of the old building still there like the apartment complex that was in front of the car wash and Big Al's Market is still there but it's not El salvadorians Market. this is by far my favorite movie and soundtrack of ALL time!.. I watch it religiously I know the movie word for word inside and out and have seen it more times than I care to mention. it is a Classic for black cinema in my opinion 😊

Songs like Oliver Cheatham's "Saturday Night," Styx's "Blue Collar Man," Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter," and some of Billy Joel's work. Songs these days all seem to be about this unobtainable standard of living, of champagne wishes and caviar dreams. Songs like "Car Wash" remind us that there is grace in working with our hands.

I've been listening to this song since I was 3 and it never gets old
We can talk about how songs don't sound the same, and kids these days don't know about the jazz etc etc until the cows come home but what I miss? Songs that acknowledge the working class. Songs like Oliver Cheatham's "Saturday Night," Styx's "Blue Collar Man," Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miner's Daughter," and some of Billy Joel's work. Songs these days all seem to be about this unobtainable standard of living, of champagne wishes and caviar dreams. Songs like "Car Wash" remind us that there is grace in working with our hands.

I remember my neighbor playing this on his turntables back in the day.... I miss him and all the music he had.... I received some 45s from him and this was one of them... I still have the 45 and I have a another one from a friend of mine a few years ago.... I do have a hard time looking for the extended version of this song.... I miss them days...... I didn't realize until recently how lucky I was to have been a kid in the 1970s. The 80s were over-the-top and the 90s were bland and boring, but the 70s were full of attitude, style, and the greatest music ever!
