I appreciate that the video is not just a speed drawing and that you explained the process and keep focus on the main subject, the artwork, and a very natural way to promote your brushes and other products. Thanks for the video is awesome.
I'm suspicious of giving my opinion on your isometric drawings. Your work is one of my main inspirations and I thank you for that whenever I can. I like the long & uncut video format (similar to streaming style) because you always bring comments about basic principles of outlines, color and composition. I would love to know more about your prior research to achieve the artwork idea (elements, research, 3D uses, etc.) and how you bring everything together to compose the image. I can't wait for more. 🙏🏾💜
I love the split screen and seeing some of the details of the final artwork on one side while also seeing the process of your lineart on the other side :)
I enjoy this format. A time lapse can be interesting but I much prefer the commentary. However the length is short enough that I can hide from my kids to watch it. I save replays of your live streams for laundry day 😂😢 Btw, the way you promoted your stuff in the video was well done; it felt natural. Some UA-camrs build an entire video around their product without any real substance.
I'm learning how to draw and it is overwhelming at times. You make it seem so fun and easy! I'd love more fun tutorials like this one or, even better, a whole course! Can't wait for my copy of Lines to learn how to handle colors and shadows 🙂
Thanks so much man! It is BOTH fun & easy AND overwhelming, even for me haha. Regarding the course I've got good news, I just signed a deal with a producer and we'll make a bigger course in the next months :)
Great video, love this style! A video with further details on how to set up the canvas drawing guide to match that isometric angle would be amazing! Or even a Procreate file with the isometric grid set up would be super handy. I would love to give it a go :)
Thanks! I can definitely do that - I also share open files on my Patreon, so far only PSDs cause they can be opened by everyone. For the standard 30° isometric grid in Procreate, the trick is super simple though: you just go into settings -> canvas -> drawin grid (or something similar as I have it in german), and there you can change it to isometric :)
I love isometoric drawing, and your explanation really gives me a lots of hints for getting better. Hope to see another video of this kind (maybe a little longer)!
i LOVE your isometric drawings, would like to see more of them, especially on procreate! it would be also really interesting to see a longer/more detailed video about that process with all the different layers etc. you use :) more like an in-depth tutorial Keep up your amazing work!
Thanks so much for the feedback (and sorry for replying so late!). I'll put the layers video idea on my list, I can certainly do something like that some time! :)
Amazing work. I thought this was vector, but doing all this in Procreate is amazing. I always forget the perspective and geometric tools in Procreate😮. Having videos teaching how to use these tools during a small drawing could be nice, but this will depend if you want to invest so much time doing videos. Live drawing or draw wit me sessions is also another option and you don't need to spend time editing videos. Now it only depends on your goals. But I like this style of video very good, short, with comments and advices, and we see all the process.
Your work is amazing! I'd love to know how you gauge non-linear and irregular shapes and angles that aren't directly running along the isometric guidelines? I get completely lost 😅
Great cheery happy colourfull cabin a la oodles of noodles!! Your choice and reason for the analogous colours are good tips. Pen choices, too. I luv detail, so your whimsical additional touches are cute. I like details because it creates stories within the overall story a illustration has. So, i feel not just me but others would find it reallly helpful if you would go through the steps from a to z. Start with: what is isometric? vs other perspectives? How to import a sketch that we want trace over? What tools does Procreate have for isometric images, grid, drawing assist, snapping, etc? What size is this cabin’s canvas? The different blend modes you mentioned, what are they? Etc etc. And where these different elements found in Procreate?
Super great to watch you draw and find your thoughts. Great also the small details like with the potential couple who lives above the kitchen. What kind of brush did you use for the steam? Very cool. And why am I so hungry for „Ramen noodles“ now? 😂
Thanks for the feedback Carsten 🙌 I just used my outline brush for the flat steam, and then airbrushed it with one of my grain brushes (the grainy ones will be released some time, I'm still working on them!)
Looking forward for more details on the grainy brushes as soon as they are ready for public. I really love grain in my photography and do love this effect in illustrations, comics and graphic novels. 🎨 ✏️
How do you know how to do gabled roofs in perspective? Do you know of any tutorials for that? I struggle with both round things and gabled roofs, somehow anything that does not follow the perspective lines breaks my brain 😂
Good question, roof gables are reaally tricky. Did you take a look into my free Isometric Art ebook? I'm describing ways to get such shapes right in there. grossehalbuer.com/isometry
Did you try it the way I describe it in this video - first drawing all the basic structures, and only then adding the details? I think this way you don't get frustrated too quickly because you see where the artwork is going!
That's most likely either an issue with the pen you're using (do you use the original Apple Pencil?), or there's something wrong with the pressure sensivity settings in Procreate. Did you play around with different brushes and checked the "Pressure and Smoothing" options in the Settings?
Also midjourney shmidjourney, the journey is the destination and anyone using AI just completely misses out on that. So midjourney is a journey that's just... mid. Fitting name.

Thanks for the nice feedback! :) something similar and new is coming soon!

I love watching your art process. I discovered you through the isometric art, love it!
Thank you!!
This is very inspirational and takes me back to the days when I used to draft engineering drawings...😍
Glad you enjoyed this! :)
Its really nice watching you work, deep dive would be super nice
Thanks Diego!
Yes to more videos like this! Clear explanation, snappy execution. Thanks for sharing your process.
Thanks Kitty, love to read such feedback! :)

@@evangelospapathomas8859 Great! :) I'll send out an info once the course is available!
Love these little behind the scene video’s, Stefan. Perfect explanation, pace and length. Keep’m coming 😊
Happy to hear that mate, thanks for the feedback!

Subscribed ^ - ^, I love this kind of isometric architecture art with storytelling elements ^ - ^
thank you!

I love your style so much
Many thanks!! :)
Someday if i have my own big drawing pad i will be just like you
Always keep it up and you'll get there! For building up skills, you don't even need an expensive tablet - pen & paper is fine :)

Hello Stefan! Many thanks for your video! Your links in descripton aren't correct (Brushes; Noisy Textures) Thank you!

Thanks mate, much love back from Germany :)
How much time it took you make this? I am starter as my sketch is not good but i am good enough in colors. Do you have paid in detail training ?
Around 9-10 hours! I've got a couple of tutorials on my Patreon, but I'm also working on a big art & drawing course right now!

How to fix bad behaviour to go details everytime 😢 makes me ony focus one area then get bored finishing other parts

My problem with Procreate is that I can’t control brush pressure and Thinness and thickness 😢
