the fact that the name sandstorm was chosen for a 4 different characters from the same contunity, make it even more funnier
i always loved the obscure beast wars characters, but sandstorm hits different to me,his color scheme is so unique and cool,i'm really glad to see him get attention, the beast wars version of him will be always holds a place in my heart
Bro u made 4 separate comments, calm down
@@0Warpath what's even the bad thing about that tho ?
You couldn't have just edited the first one?
The fact that IDW basically turned him into a serial killer at one point was an interesting direction to go with his character
Chris: "But the discontinuation of Sandstorm's toy in 1988 soon led to him being killed off, blown to bits by-"
Me: "By a cosmically powered Starscream?"
Chris: "...by GALVATRON."
Me: "Oh..."
Same
Never expected Chris to start this off with a Star Wars joke. I loved it.
Same!
Never joke about Star Wars. It always feels forced...
@Silvestre JoJo 😂😂😂
@@windsweeper8002 I had Fun Once. It was Awful
"This is where the fun begins."
"Another happy landing."
Reminder, you can take Generations Sandstorm's kibble and turn it into a wheelchair making him a Cripple-Changer.
For me it's springer for I was always fond for his look when first appeared in the g1 movie with him turning into both a futuristic muscle car and attack copter
The OG Triple changer is the only one that matters to me.
Even if sandstorm is a decepticon-autobot-predecon,all the time he will be always the unique g1 triple changer and the obscure beast wars character and the best decepticon in the color scheme
"It is now time to fight for what we belive in.Our planet, our freedom, our lives!"
Why do i see you in alot of transformer videos
with the legacy tot of him being released,i'm really glad to see such a unique obscure beast wars character like him get attention,i hope we can see more of him in the upcoming beast wars media especialy the fact that his name was chosen for 4 different characters from the same contunity, which is funny as hell
Why do I see you in a lot of Transformers videos?

Also, Armada Cyclonus' Japanese name is Sandstorm. I knew that pretty early on and I always thought it was a hint that the character would redeem himself and become an Autoboot.; something I think wouldve happened if Cybertron was a true sequel to Energon.
Your description of Sandstorm's bio suits his Earth Wars character to a tee.
Triple changers have 2 special moves, and his can be used in unison, rushing in and deploying a toxic aoe, followed by taking to the air and dropping a bomb for more damage to cons (heals for allies).
Sandstorm's robot mode was on cover of my first Transformers VHS tape. Good times.
“But the discontinuation of Sandstorm's toy in 1988 soon lead to him being killed off.”
Here it comes! He’s going to say the thing!
“Blown to pieces-“
Let’s all say it together!
“-by Galvatron.”
… What?! No cosmically powered Starscream?! THAT'S JUST WRONG! I feel dirty just hearing that!
Still not clean! STILL NOT CLEAN!
(Yes I know it was the UK comic, I’m just making a joke 😜😜😜😜😜😜)
I loved that the Dark of the moon Sandstorm was just a giant weaponizer for a random dude
7:21 Well there was a cameo appearance of the original Sandstorm from R.I.D (2015).
Loved the G1 episode he had with Octane, always felt that the episode gave more depth to deceptions as a whole with fighting in their own ranks etc.
It is a third season highlight for me and much better than Sandstorm's origin story with a bunch of generics on Paradron.
9:16/9:26 The only major connection these Sandstorms have is a desert themed color deco.
Well, the other Sandstorms all tend to share a similarity with the G1 Sandstorm in some way. Whether it's simply the color scheme, or sharing an alt mode, or even having a similar personality.
I am so happy to hear that my "Predacon" re-paint is actually a hero and played a big role in Transformers Storylines. XD
1:48 Sandstorm: "It's as beautiful in death as it was in life"
Rodimus: "Well no need to get all mushy, Cybertron's a better place anyway. Not so perfect."
Morning coffe and McFeely telling me stories are the best moments of the week
The 2014 toy was one of my favourites. It really moves and transforms like a mecha, and having a highspeed land mode and a versatile air mode makes it easy to imagine various scenarios for him.
I really like the "rotors folding to look like bandoliers"....never noticed that before on those helicopters transformers.
Man, it's weird to hear a G1 character didn't die at the hands of an Underbase powered Starscream after hearings it so many times.
To be fair, when it comes to Simon Furman's iteration of G1 Galvatron. Power-wise, they are basically the same.
I was expecting it. Then it was like wait, what?
I Remember it like this if a wrecker galvatron killed them anyone else a underbase powered starscream
AND he wasn’t killed by a Decepticon-controlled copy of Optimus Prime.
Sandstorm (the original) was one of the first Transformers I owned.
I remember having the original Sandstorm. The episode he had with Octane was super cool. ~_~
I always liked seeing Autobots and Decepticons working together/being friends. It's funny though that the episode is about Starscream's Ghost and like 60% of the episode's runtime is Wacky Hijinx with Sandstorm and Octane.
@@ShinGallon that's a good ass episode, I think imma watch it right now
I knew SandStorm had a long & varied history, but I feel this was one of your most surprising and informative episodes yet!
I want to continue the encouragement for your great work with our hobby! Thank you
You opened with a Star Wars quote and have earned 100% of my like
"Which triple changed from Dune Buggy to weapons platform that could be manned by his human partner *Squints eyes* Ted Danson?"
Props to the nod to the infamous Star Wars prequel trilogy line in the intro.
Now, I believe a number of Autobots did share G1 Sanstorm's trait of struggling to find purpose post-war, but him pretty much becoming a Cybertronian Dexter was especially dark.
The quote cannot be escaped
Now we need a story of Sandstorm teaming up with Sandstorm Machine Wars to fight Decepticon Sandstorm and Predacon Sandstorm to save G.I. Joe Sandstorm.
Sounds like a FunPub story.
Needs more Sandstorm.
Did not expect a prequel reference from Chris, but I got a good laugh out of that.
Keep up the awesome work, Chris! 👏
I had to do a double take, thought I clicked the wrong video lol
Very good episode, and that last retool of the springer toy looks so good as Sandstorm
0:30 the original G1 toy had its feet made from colored die cast metal (like Soundwave), while in the next version they were made from plastic.
The original triple-changing incarnation is my favorite. Until recently, it's the only one I knew of. I had never heard of the jet or scorpion until the latest figures were announced.
That Thrilling 30 Generations toy is absolutely awesome. Sandstorm, Whirl, Roadbuster, and Springer are my 'Wreckers' from that era of figures.
Sandstorm is one of the most underrated characters (in all his incarnations) and so I’m glad the basics has led him to become more well known and more people can learn to appreciate him as I have
My favourite is the IDW version. His arc in Punishment is simply chilling
The idw version really show what they can do with the transformers, for sandstorm is a good example that sandstorm being a wercker shows that he have the feeling of bloodlust or those type of people that jumps out of planes, climb skyscrapers and walk on rope lines.
So, the transformers legacy figure was basically a mass market release, with a new mold, of this botcon toy. That’s pretty cool that a bot con figure made it into transformers legacy.
I can't wait to see where some of these IDW storylines go in the animation space I love them all
Fantastic video! Great job!👍👍
In my school vr game he had a cool bit where him whirl springer and the rest of the wreckers head to the tree of harmony and stop desepticon secret weapon goalius from removing a curse and fyi in a cutseen he accidentally killed primus granddaughter and goalius cousin peludium by using the requriem blaster to save bulkhead from goalius quick firing assault but it was too late shattered glass shade ( he is involved In the next few weeks) had entered the area and it was sandstorm who blamed peludium death on Goalius which the games mission ended with goalius ultimately trapped everyone in the area in a nightmare loop that renders there abilities useless and in the next mission called a sandy storm was where you play as sandstorm and free the wreckers and shade from the loop and find goalius and it has a big boss fight against goalius which ended with sg shade being too late as he losses control of the gigaverse to the original first entity named davoth and sg shade ordered sandstorm to kill goalius and sandstorm did it and it leads to the next mission called a living nightmare where you play as sandstorm and try to find out the cause of the endless nights which revialed to be a entity known as cataclyst a unkillable entity that can live by nightmares and she was on the hunt for sandstorm as he was the only bot with info of peludium death and in the games Cort peludium was revived and sandstorm was forced to admit what happened and he ended up getting killed by a goalius veriont named dreadagon and after that he ressurected both sandstorm and goalius and the mission ended with sandstorm arrested for murder of peludium
Imagine if they made an incarnation that brought elements from the G1 and BW versions together. Triple changer with helicopter and scorpion modes, lives in a pacifist colony but is secretly an ancient Transformer waiting for the day he's needed to fight Unicron. Something like that?
Thanks for getting the sand out of our curious eyes, Chris. G1 Sandstorm is my favorite along with the other triple changers. Shame about the limited number of roles, maybe my fanfiction could spice it up a little.
That ending is a gem XD
I had the original Bot. Though, probably the rerelease in 91. Loved it
I remember the G1 incarnation of sandstorm very well. It would have been interesting if they could have combined the Bob butianski profile with the portrayal on the G1 cartoons. Maybe reconning the story to where the Daredevil version of sandstorm might have come from velocitron before relocating to the other planet and helping liberate them
I think Botcon Machien Wars Sandstorm would make a great fill-in for the Prime incarnation. Hoping we get to see new Generations toys of the G1 version, alongside Broadside, but that doesnt seem super likely as of right now
Wow, he turned out to be much more interesting than I thought!
The 2014 Generations Sandstorm is in my list of favorite Transformers figures.
Great video!! I'd love to see a video on Broadside to complete the original 6 triple changers!!
Me after hearing the opening segment being; “It’s coarse, it’s rough, it’s irritating, and it gets everywhere.”: Was that a Star Wars reference?
Can I just show my appreciation for the prequel meme in the beginning?
2:57 surprising someone who wasn’t offlined by a cosmically empowered starscream
The episode that Sandstorm appeared alongside Octane for the two part series, Blitzwing was supposed to be there with Sandstorm but they wanted to push the new release of Octane so the show made writers had to change Blitzwing with Octane
As a way to make sense of all the different characters I've always seen Sandstorm as a common name on Cybertron like a John or a William.
For me, Micron Legends Sandstorm sprung to mind, aka Armada Cyclonus in Japan.
7:45 Thus a recolor of Beachcomber (Like the Universe figure).
I was honestly expecting you to say his comic book adaptation was killed off by a cosmic powered star scream
2nd Generations Sandstorm has to be one of the best Transformers toy of all time IMHO. I loved the G1 version as well.
I wish I got the first Generations Sandstorm, mainly because I had the OG Dunerunner and lost him...
That mold's pretty fun, because the hands actually transform into the seats in buggy mode.
Wow, once again you present another fine and in depth episode. I can only remember the one episode he shared with Octane from Season 3 lol. I really like how you go in details about all these comic appearances as I am not a comic reader. Keep up the awesome work!!!
That intro... is that hinting at a possible Basics episode covering crossovers with a certain other franchise whose characters often have a certain distaste for sand?😆
Whirl, Skids, Chromedome, Rodimus... all these characters I've just known about in More than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise explained thoroughly? Consider that an instant sub! Can't wait to see those vids too after I finish up with them comics ^_^
Great Stuff! Those newer takes on the Sandstorm character look pretty slick.
The one I like is the repaint of the characters scorpionok and I found him at my local Ross store from the legacy line he is my favorite character and I like his color scheme more better than the original character and I really enjoyed all of your videos and reviews of all the Transformers characters can't wait for the next up coming videos of new unsure characters of 2023 and 2024
Very cool video as always Chris
Sandstorm has to have the most convoluted history of any Transformer. I have the Thrilling 30s IDW style Sandstorm on my Wreckers shelf, hoping for the day we get a new more G1 accurate version. However, with two recent releases under the same name, that seems unlikely.
Chris, I'd be interested in hearing your take on the Star Seekers, even if 90% of their significance is "what could have been" instead of "what actually was."
The G1 version is my favorite Autobot triple changer.
0:29 G1 Sandstorm is going to get a new toy next year!!!!!!!
Can always count on you Chris for another informative video 👍
I wasn't expecting that Star wars quote
It's a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
3:01 At first I thought he was gonna be killed by a cosmically-powered Starscream.
Definitely an Autobot I had all 3 of the originl triple changers growing up. We the old heads had an imagination.... what happened
0:03 Good to know that one of my favorite Transformers youtubers is a cultured prequel memer.
gotta love the "I don't like sand" opening to the video, I was laughing for 2 minutes straight
Wow...I was unaware of the deep history for this character name. I just loved his original G1 toy and character. I have several of the toys in my collection and your video has brought new light to the oft used name. Keep up the great work and I await the new video....
When Chris made a Star Wars reference:
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
his legacy United figures is right around the corner
Thank you so much sandstorm is one of my favorite figures I got the transformers generations sandstorm and I loved the character
Sandstorm might be the only name that was reused in the same generation-continuality.
Could be especially them keeping on to the trademark but either way he seems like a cool bot
3:01
I swear you were 'this close' to saying "By a cosmic-powered Starscream"
I just noticed something about Beast Wars Sandstorm.
If his real name is Scorpius, *that means he had the same name as the lead villain in 1999s Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.*
How did you manage to find MW Sandstorm’s box artwork. I’ve been looking for that for ages
I love how Beast Wars Sandstorm in comics is essentially a Maximal in all but faction.
nice man keep up the good work!!!
The fact Sandstorm had a hero mold from thrilling 30s Springer and to me was his most badass version is great to me.
7:52 Man, I want this figure now.
I think my favorite approach to Sandstorm is in Punishment. I like it when series take on that sort of DC-esque take, showing the dark, grimy side of war and pain.
I’m so glad you covered Sandstorm. He was the first Transformer I ever fell in love with as a kid.
Fun fact Sandstorm was the only transformer who wasnt offlined by Cosmically-Powered Starscream
I think several bots didn't get offed by starscream, I think time wars oofed like most of the wreckers and mayhem attack squad
I like to think every character sharing the same name in each different universe is the same character
Not just sharing the name
Obviously with a few exceptions
Like beasts wars!
You the best when come to dis kind of stuff. Thank you for sharing dis info 😬
And now we have a "Legacy" version, which is the g1 version with modern toy engineering.
I had/have that 1986 toy. It's in a box in storage somewhere along with the rest of my transformers toys. As a kid, I used him as a substitute for Springer. Seeing the 2014 updated version, I kind of want it.
I love this channel!
Love how he’s a Wrecker
Sandstorm's appearance in the American G1 cartoon season 3 episodes "Fight Or Flee","Starscream's Ghost" and "Thief In The Night".
Sandstorm really does sound like The Punisher of Transformers.
The original G1 Sandstorm was my favorite transformers toy as a kid! I liked the bot and two vehicle modes, and for some reason it just felt the most satisfying among my other Transformers, GoBots, and other changing robot toys.
Amazing stuff
