what about Married... with Children? it's great sitcom.
@@deadman626 WM won't promote something that's been criticised by many for not being politically correct.
Frasier is a rare example of a spin-off that's better than the original.
Boy Meets World
It’s an actual CRIME that Community isn’t on here or even an honorable mention. Not only is it one of the funniest shows of all time, it’s probably the most creative sitcom ever made. And It’s always sunny in Philadelphia also deserved a spot.
I'm also here because of Community!!! I would also think The Nanny should have been mentioned.
We need a bigger list! Yes Community is amazing, it's just maybe a touch further down on an all-time list than the top spots.
And they had they audacity to include Big Bang Theory but not these amazing shows
Was literally just watching the vid to see where these 2 shows would come up…
The lack of community has made me question all of the lists I have watched on this channel. In addition no it’s always sunny and Parks and rec is also ofd
Parks and Rec? It's Always Sunny? Community? This list has some bug misses
Add Arrested Development and 30 Rock- two other big misses!
It's a top 20 list....those aren't worthy of top 20 bub. This is of all-time...not your lifetime youngster.
I hate bug misses. You can't miss a bug!
The King of Queens, Family Matters, Married...with Children, Two and a Half Men....this list misses a lot and is crap.
Exactly.....the longest running sitcom doesnt even have a mention?
Cheers, 11 seasons
Frasier, 11 seasons
22 years of fantastic NBC Television!
The greatest 1-2 punch in television history !
Fun fact: Alan Alda from M.A.S.H is my mom's first cousin. My mom's maiden name is D'Abruzzo, and Alan took the AL from Alphonso and the DA from D'Abruzzo to make the surname Alda. I've met him many many times over the years, particularly birthdays for my great aunt and my grandpa, who were both siblings of Robert Alda, Alans father. He is such an amazing and humble man, and his wife Arlene is an absolute doll.

Very underated
"The Middle"???

My favorite sitcom will always be Night Court. I love the way funny way they worked and laughed together.
Curb is super underrated! I love the vocabulary they come up with! Especially phrases like “chat & cut” and “accidental text on purpose”
I actually prefer Curb to Seinfeld.
Really agreed. Let it like that, few know good.

The Nanny was awful, not remotely funny. Can’t argue with the rest of your list though. King of Queens is criminally underrated.
3rd rock from the sun, everybody loves Raymond
@@GG-sr4ww Lies, The Nanny was GREAT!
I didn't even finish the video yet, but reading the comments and arrested developelment isn't in this is disappointing
I would vote Fran Drescher's character on the Nanny The most annoying in television history.
If anyone has ever watched any episode of 'Taxi' and then an episode of "Always Sunny In Philedelphia",you'll see how Frank Reynolds is just Louie DePalma 45 years later...LOL..
Pretty much 😁
Please excuse me, but anyone doing a Louie Depalma other than Danny Devito is a very pore imitation!!

Married with children 100% should've been on this list or at least in the honorable mentions. Al Bundy was one of the best characters on TV
100 💯 facts
I do not want to live in a world where Parks and Rec isn't even an honourable mention.
Married With Children, Community and Always Sunny are some unforgivable omissions. I do agree with the top spot for Seinfeld. Modern Family deserves better than an honorable mention.
Modern family per def is a mocumentary more than a sitcom
“Married With Children” was side splitting AND unique. It copied no show before it. And it seems like nobody tried to copy it. Most likely because it’s so hard to duplicate. It may not have aged well, but this is forgivable after about 20 minutes of wisecracking dumb people.
I expected Modern Fam to be 1. Better than most sitcoms here
I don't know Community, but definitely agree on both of the Ed O'Neill snubs.
Nah everybody sleeping on Everyone loves Raymond and Kings of Queens
This probably should have been a top 50. There are so many great sitcoms.
I absolutely agree here!
King of Queens is such an underrated show.
Seinfeld Show is just genius. About "nothing," it was always relevant and still is. It changed the way we speak and think about the language, which is no small feat. And so many unforgettable moments.
i just finished watching it for the second time, i would kill to be able to watch it for the first time again
not really, Jerry is just annoying.
Seriously? No room for Community on Top 20 list? I think that’s a mistake.
WatchMojo is streets behind.
Biggest misses for me:
Community
Married with Children
Night Court
Three's Company
Married with Children should be Top 5.
FINALLY somebody that appreciates Night Court. Married with Children is so good I bought the entire series on dvd.
Night Court was good, but not great. Three's Company should have made the list.
I said the same exact thing, not Community, but the other ones are legendary
Brooklyn 99, and arrested development
I don’t understand how the Cosby Show didn’t make it either. I don’t care what “did”, that show was superbly legendary
This was your first countdown when I didn't mind all of the narration. It was a list well represented by all decades and put together very well. Loved that you didn't spend much time with each item. But why such a short list of honorable mentions?
I don't get how Always Sunny in Philadelphia doesn't get added to the list of even mentioned. It's the longest running live action comedy series of all time, should be enough to warrant being at least in the top 10
Sweet Dee’s fault. God damn bird
It’s a live action comedy not a sitcom there’s no stupid laugh track
@@markhammond150 hahahahahaha dee’s a bird 😂
Not even an honorable mention 😡
It's in the implication
Considering that Modern Family has 5 consecutive Emmys for Best Comedy Series, it is hard to fathom why it did not even crack Top 20.
That doesnt make it good, if Britney Spears was the best selling album does that make her good? Married With Children was a million times funnier then Modern Family
Modern Family is garbage..... not even slightly funny. How is it even called comedy??
It’s entertaining but it’s not great
@@Ezoangelofdeath this list is not based on how good a sitcom is (cause I refuse to see Friends higher than TBBT and HIMYM) because that would be too subjective

Oh man, found a season of Taxi on dvd, unopened for $1 so I snagged it. It was a skosh before my time. I never had got into it before. But man it is golden! I love it.
I love Lucy is number one. They really did start it all and paved the way for sitcoms and syndication. There is also another franchise they helped called Star Trek.
Great Show but i think Gale Gordon and Lucille Ball Pairing was the best slapstick moments on The Lucy Show later Here's Lucy.
The fact that it’s always sunny isn’t on this list makes it completely wrong.
"The Gang Makes The LIst"
Not even an honorable mention for "Always Sunny", "Community" or Arrested Development?
Brilliant series, Arrested is my favourite 👍🏻
OMG I forgot about Arrested Devlopment! yes 100% should be on here
The Honeymooners pioneered every show on this list.
I think "The Middle" is incredibly underrated. So many shows try to show the average family, but the Hecks are the only one I've really identified with. The show is perfectly written and cast even better. If I had to make a list, I'd include The Middle, Modern Family, Frasier and That 70s Show. All of these shows have made me laugh and cry.
Also forgot "Married... With children". One of my favorite shows.
The Argentinian Version is much better
Damn shame MWC isn’t on here. My #1 of all time.
This list lost all credibility because of this...not even an honorable mention...
MWC is one of the best shows of all time!!

How does The Honeymooners, Everybody loves Raymond, the Cosby Show and The Carol Burnett Show not even get an honorable mention?
The Carol Burnett Show was more variety or sketch show. Mama’s Family should’ve got an honorable mention, though.
How could you omit Sanford and Son !?
Redd Foxx was a comedic genius
Was expecting Married With Children on this list but now I'm sad since it is my favorite sitcom.
Al was a better role model than bill Cosby
Fun fact the only mention married with children a few times in this channel
the show had something people this day and age don't remotely have at all.

Yeah, that was a complete letdown on WM part. At least an honorable mention would've been enough.

Other great ones not mentioned: The Andy Griffith Show, Parks and Recreation, The Good Place & Home Improvement
The good place is no doubt my favorite show of all time

Doogie houser and wonder years were good too
Today I just learned that *MARRIED WITH CHILDREN* is in fact a sports documentary series
You could have mentioned Leave It To Beaver. That was a great show that sometimes tackled tough subjects, like alcoholism, racism & poverty.
The fact that Arrested Development isn't here is a blow to my heart - it's arguably one of the absolute BEST sitcoms of all time.
Parks and Recreation, Always Sunny and 30 Rock are huge misses as well.
I’m sorry but something is wrong with u if u think arrested development is the best sitcom of all time, it’s good but has way too many just unwatchable episodes
I am a die-hard fan of AD but tagging it as the best sitcom of all time is bit of a stretch.
30 Rock is absolutely hilarious!

Everybody Hates Chris should've been an honorable mention. That sitcom tackled racism, poverty, and adolescence in a hilarious and heartfelt way.
Scrubs needs at least a honorable mention. That show makes you laugh and cry, it's the most medically accurate hospital show and I don't recall any other hospital sit-coms, so it's also pretty original concept.
Agreed. Scrubs is incredibly well done and there’s typically a very uplifting moral inside each episode. Not even an honorable mention - ugh.
I agree with that so much! Loved Scrubs so much. I also felt Brooklyn 99 and Malcom in the Middle needed more than just an honourable mention, in my opinion.
I was coming to the comments to say exactly this!
I agree. Scrubs had moments where I actually started to cry like the episode where they are saying goodbye to Laverne.
100% scrubs needs to be on this list not enough people understand the brilliance of that show. Scrubs greatest show ever
The only two I watch regularly is Curb and Seinfeld. They are both of the most rewatchable shows ever.
Came to the comments to confirm my suspicions that y’all didn’t include Always Sunny which is ARGUABLY the best sitcom as it is sitting as the longest running live action comedy.
Everybody Loves Raymond and Married with Children would have to be in my top twenty!
And Scrubs.
And King of Queens
Night Court should have been on this list, along with Three's Company and a few others....
There are some great choices on it as it is, but I would have arranged them differently....
Where is Seinfeld in it?
Love Night Court!
@@armedjaquar You mean in my list? I'm not exactly sure, but it isn't my #1 pick.

I forgot Night Court better than 70% of the shows on this list
Seinfeld is timeless.
Seinfeld has helped me through so many dreary days of boredom. Sometimes, I feel like the show was tailor-made for my sense of humour. I've seen every episode a dozen times, and I still belly-laugh every time.
“Look, I got a few good years left. If I want a Chip Ahoy, I’m having it.”
I so agree
most of its comedy has not aged well at all
Agreed. I had my kids watch both Seinfeld and Friends, they enjoyed Friends much more than Seinfeld. They thought the Seinfeld jokes were all 'grandfather' type comedy.
Many sitcoms are really worthy of being in this list Broad City and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia should really be in this list. Their originality and Witt are really remarkable
Not Broad City that show is awful
I'm actually downright shocked "Married with Children" (the Bundy's deserved a top 10 break in this list at least)did not make it even to an honorable mention , "Two and a half men" (pre ashton kutcher seasons, yes I'm that type of person and I stand by it) .
I'm not surprised that Living Single isn't on the list. It's has been highly overlooked over the years. However, it should at least be an honorable mention
Thanks for the feedback
It is underrated
Living Single, Martin, Waynes Bros, Everybody Hates Chris, Different World... I get leaving off Cosby show..
Ummmmmmmm......and the fact they stole the idea for Friends from Living Single
3rd Rock from the Sun and Spin City aren't mentioned.
So we're not considering Arrested Development a sitcom? Gotcha.
I believe I am in the extreme minority, but though I adore both 'Cheers' and 'Frasier', quote both shows on a countless basis, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great sitcom, I am personally a bigger fan of 'Wings'. For those who don't know, Wings was a show by the same writers as Cheers and Frasier that aired from 1990-1997. It is set in the same universe, and is centered around brothers Joe and Brian Hackett who run an independent airline at the Tom Nevers Field airport. Other regulars include Joe's on-and-off love interest Helen Chappel, who runs the lunch bar at the airport, Fay Cochran, a sweet old lady who works at the ticket booth, Roy Biggins, a mean and greedy conman who owns a competing airline, Lowell Mather, the dimwitted and loveable repair man who was directly inspired by Cheers' Woody Boyd, and Antonio Scarpacci, the sad-sack cab driver known for his clever one liners and excellent comedic timing portrayed by the hilarious Tony Shalhoub. Several Cheers characters make one-time appearances throughout the show, including Norm and Cliff, Frasier and Lilith, and Rebecca. A truly great show. I highly recommend it for those who love Cheers and Frasier, or who have already seen every show on this list.
As an additional sidenote, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' should have been waaaaay higher on this list.
Wings was popular and the show beat many on this list for actual laughter.
@@angelaandradeus6290 I couldn't agree more.
Frasier is the good one... I think the title character is funny looking... but his brother Niles is sort of handsome
I totally agreed with Seinfeld at number 1. I liked Seinfeld a whole lot more than I liked Friends. I couldn't get into Friends at all. Seinfeld had the hilarious factor sure but look at the concepts it brought to light. Double Dipping, the whole candy machine issue with the Twix, shrinkage, and multiple other topics they had. Even the characters made the show great with the episodes. It brought out the best in John O'Hurley in my opinion
Sht up nothing can match with frnds

WKRP in Cincinnati and The Andy Griffith show should have been on this list, but the biggest oversight was not having the Dick Van Dyke show in the top 10! I’d also argue that Park and Recreation should have at least have been an honorable mention. Another oversight of a really funny show that should have been mentioned, Good Times!
A crime that Dick Van Dyke was left off -- one of the first to really focus on the two worlds of a character with Rob's home and work life. Andy Griffith did it as well, but that was more blurred lines.
Good times was kind of mentioned, though only if you're accepting technicalities. Listen at 1:45. "The Jeffersons brought in a decade of good times." Completely not what you were talking about, but I'm a smartass so I felt obligated to point it out.
The Golden Years didn't get a mention minus I Love Lucy no Bilko, Dick Van Dyke, Addams Family, The Beverly Hillbillies, Mchales Navy etc.
Not even an honorable mention for Community? This list is NOT streets ahead.
It's a cult sitcom that's never had mainstream popularity.

It really broke my heart.

Boy Meets World had it's ups and downs, but overall Seasons 1-5 are pretty great. Once he gets into college, I feel like it really goes downhill. Season 4 was easily the best one. I'd give it an honorable mention.
I understand why The Cosby Show isn't on here. But it still doesn't justify it. Just because he's bad, doesn't mean the show is as well. That show WAS many of our childhoods, and should have at least been on here with a disclaimer
But it took away the Legacy of Bill Cosby.

So modern family gets an honorable mention, but no married with children? Ed O'Neil will always be known for being Al Bundy
Married with children is not only one of the best sitcoms, if not the best (F*** Friends and Seinfeld), it's also ground breaking.
Married With Children has always been the black sheep sitcom since it debut it always had a tag on it that if you mention it to high your assume racist, homophobic, fat shamer and a bad human. This is why it never rated high in public but high in the minds of people.
My favorites are friends, how I met your mother, the office and I used to watch some of I dream of jeanie when I was younger. A new sitcom that I love so far is how I met your father, it’s super good!!!

Everybody Loves Raymond is hilarious. One of the best casts ever and some of the best writing.
Frasier is a pretty good one too,if a bit classier than your typical sitcom
No way Rayomond´s show wasn´t better than Will & Grace to name a 90s show.
Whoever says Big Bang Theory is better than It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia doesn’t deserve to make a greatest sitcoms list.
As a 30 year old, It's Always Sunny is legendary however, if you're talking ALL time, I see why it was left off. It's a niche type of humor. The shows listed were watched around the world and of a higher quality with story telling.

I was beyond hoping that golden girls would be #1 instead of Seinfeld. I wasn't surprised... But golden girls has aged so well and a lot of the progressive storylines have made it so I'd argue golden girls is funnier then when it first aired.
@@GlutenFreeVegas I just mentioned this to my husband! I wasn't old enough to completely understand it's humor when it first came out. I look at it now and it blows me away. These women were comedic geniuses.
It's been said that many sitcoms through the decades were influenced by I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners. Only one was listed. Carl Reiner's The Dick Van Dyke Show didn't break any new ground but it laid the groundwork to be broken by future sitcoms. Next time maybe a longer list including Leave It To Beaver, Bewitched (the series was about prejudice), Everybody Loves Raymond, Married With Children and The Golden Girls? Doing a new list is warranted this time. There's quite a few shows on this list that had no business being there.
Agreed, though The Dick Van Dyke Show was indeed hip and groundbreaking in its time, given that it was at heart a satire about show biz. It was also one of the first “ensemble” comedies in the truest sense, in that rather being a semi-sappy family sitcom like Father Knows Best, it fully realized the idea that you could make a “family” out of disparate characters. Every sitcom on this list, from All in the Family to Seinfeld, owes it a great debt. If I Love Lucy is the Elvis of sitcoms, then DVD is the Beatles.
Everybody Loves Raymond should have been on the list. Enjoyed watching this anyway 😂. Good job 👏🏻
I went to Craiova Romania in the 2000s. There was an Al Bundy shoes that actually sold really nice dress shoes. That's cultural impact! Why isn't Married with Children on here?!?!
Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens deserved at least an honorable mention each.
The scene in Fresh Prince where he met his deadbeat father really hit hard.
No list about best sitcoms can be taken seriously without the Cosby Show, I know the reason it's not on but the fact is the show was hugely popular and should be here in spite of Cosby's crimes.

The fact Married With Children didn't make the kist is insanity
Well-put!!👍
My favorites are It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, How I Met Your Mother, and The Office. I would've put The Office higher but for a good portion of the show it seems to be Michael being cringey and that's it. Now the other 2 have some of the best forms of modern humor. They always seem to push boundaries with their topics but the best part is the character development. Watching Barnie change from a womanizer into a huge romantic is always one of the best changes in the show. Each character in IASIP showing off their psychological issues like Dennis slowly shifting towards a psychopath or Charlie showing signs of brain damage as the seasons continue. I will still say that Charlie and the waitress spending the night on the beach together was one of my favorite episodes even if it was all b.s. That and the message in the episode when their phones update so they dive into all of their own realities only to realize that you create your own truths even if they end up actually being a lie. That one blew my mind away with how interesting it played out. Reminds me of a Futurama or Rick and Morty episode that gets you thinking.
Oh and How I Met Your Mother has some of the best writing. They can talk about something random that shouldn't matter in an earlier season but because of the writing that detail comes up again 6 seasons later as if they live real lives. It's tough to find a plot loophole in that show.
What are you on about now? HIMYM had an awful ending. Sure, the rest of the writing was good, but the ending was horrendous.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 I said it has some of the best writing and explained how the show backtracks to tie up loopholes in its plotline. I don't understand why you questioned me and then proceeded to say it was good writing.
You guys spoiled how i met your mother for me, I was at season 7 and just had to watch your video for some reason. GREAT
The fact that Always Sunny doesn't even get an honorable mention even though it's the longest running sitcom is depressing.
Can someone give me an egg for this trying time?
IASIP as the longest running sitcom of all time is a very big half truth. Yes the length of time its actively existed is there, but in terms of number of episodes they are still way behind several other long running network shows
@@williamgiesen4910 That doesn't make it a half truth, no series runs the same amount of shows, airs it's seasons in the traditional way past its time network format any longer, stations have creative control and independence which is one of the main reasons Sunny destroys any network sitcom that has ever existed, accept for maybe Married With Children, even that was a black sheep.
Scrubs, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Arrested Development and Community all being left off is crazy.
I knew Seinfeld would be #1 the whole time
I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but Community, Parks and Rec, It's Always Sunny, and Everybody Loves Raymond should have been on this list.

Good list overall, personally I'd put how I met your mother higher and add Archer and community as honorable mentions at least but I agree with the no. 1 pick
I'd say it's missing more of Ricky Gervais. His shows seem more "profound" then most sitcoms. Like the classic "The Office" as well as "Extras" and "After Life". But Seinfeld is definetly the king of sitcomes by far
I wouldn't say After Life is a classic Sitcom.
Everybody loves Raymond deserve an honorable mention.
ELR deserves top 10! Maybe even top 5.
Really?
Agreed!
Yes a top 10 for sure!
Should have been #2
How do they not even me mention " it's always sunny in Philadelphia" ?
Peep Show deserves a spot on the list.
