  • This video shows you how to code your daytime running lights to be your angel eyes instead of your high beams. This will apply to any early E9X made after 04/2007.

      @@midadisdown I just followed every step in the video I have aftermarket headlights with led angel eyes and it works for those as well. Don't be afraid to watch it multiple times before attempting to modify the hexadecimal code it's very important to only make the changes he does in the video and first make backup copies of All your factory files just copy and add a .copy or .backup at the end so you can find them easily if needed. Good luck you'll be able to see the difference in brightness once their coded

    03/07 is the "key" manufacturing date to be able implement this mod straight away. Starting from this date the vehicles have the NFRM ECU (or FRM 2).

    Hi, i have a 2006 E90 with CCC Msport kit from factory, on NCS expert if i follow your exact step i get a file "FSW_PSW.TRC" with 23KB and no "VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL" but if instead of do the step "process ECU" i do the step "process CAR" i get the same file but with 236KB and with "VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL". Can i use this file change it, and save as MAN to enable the AE on the DRLs?

    First, i tried this code and it works very well. Now i have a question for you, i own a bmw 320d e90 2007, and i have xenon lights, i was ruined nfrm and i needed to reset from stock, and that is what i did, now when i am flashing (pull) it work only halogens light and that shutter from xenon not working anymore, only when i turn on high beam and not flashing. Do you know what code its necessary for this? Thank you!

    Great stuff! I got an '11 z4 that I'm rebuilding and I installed aftermarket headlights, so I need to get rid of the adaptive headlight error. So, I was concerned about screwing something up, but I think if I follow your procedure for saving the original file I should be able to return to the original coding. That's the portion no one was showing.

      OK to answer my own question (and hopefully help others) all I needed to do was enable DRL using the BC button/ indicator (turn signal) stalk standard settings menu. It appears the UK spec is set to Angel Eyes by default and they are much brighter than normal side lights (probably maxed out) - result!

      I can not find a clear explanation of how to do this! But I guess it's a hardware part I need to replace? a control unit? Do you know something about where it is located and will it be possible to change it around or will it require wiring work?
      I guess the coding should be the same on the two? would it be posibel to save the old one and write it on the new module?
      Thanks upfront! :-)

    • @AlexTurbo
      @AlexTurbo 6 років тому

      Ashihara5Kyu I know this is way too late but I may be of help. The FRM is located in the driver footwell behind the piece that holds the hood and trunk releases. It is very easy to physically replace but it also requires coding to work with your car's VIN and its features. If you have no experience with any kind of programming then I would not suggest doing this yourself. I did mine, but I am a computer science major with years of experience. There are people out there that will do the coding for you at a cost (not sure on the avg price). As for finding an FRM2 module, you can look on eBay. There should be plenty there. I got mine for about $60, programmed it, and now I have lots more features to play around with. Just make sure you get the correct FRM2 for your car's features. Check out this link for that list: www.e90post.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13225455&postcount=223

      Arnis Rubīns auto or just normal. DRL means that anytime during the day when your lights would be active, these will run. This essentially does two things. Cuts the ugly amber low beam from turning on, and activated your Halos anytime the car is “running”.

    Hi will this work on my e90 2007 m sport (japan) with no idrive? Cheers

      lamadrid It should, what is your build date? As long as it has an FRM2 module it should. You don't need idrive to do this.

      Aveman1 I'm trying to locate the build date of my bimmer, I've checked under the hood and all doors but can't find any information. My BC doesnt also have the drl option. If it's produced earlier than April, is it still possible to do this? Thanks

      You should be able to find your build date on the b pillar when you open the drivers side door. Check for a label with your VIN on it. As long as you have an FRM2 module you can do this.

      It might not, you would have to verify if you have a NFRM2 module or 2nd generation lighting module.

    • @derekgharris
      @derekgharris 5 років тому

      Jerezelm, a veepeak adapter module and Bimmercode app. About $50 combined for both. Way easier than this, takes about 5 min. Plus you can change all kinds of other stuff too. So worth it...

    i wired my angel eyes into my high beams. how did you wire your angel eyes

    • @VehicularDIY
      @VehicularDIY  7 років тому

      It's done via coding, no wiring required if you program the module.

    • @dregenius
      @dregenius 7 років тому +2

      Only a hack would splice wires to do this on a BMW. It's not a cheap Japanese car where there's virtually no electronics besides required engine management. lol
