Thank you very much for making this video. It was VERY educational, informative and easy to follow. I also really like how you let the viewer know that it is a bit frustrating and if you can't handle it, get it done.
thank god for someone who shows how to unscrew each bolt and where they are unlike other videos that show you everything removed and say 'just do what i did its easy'
I’ve searched my owner’s manual from cover to cover trying figure out which bulb to purchase and how to change my daytime running light that’s out. Of course I couldn’t find anything about the bulb in the owner’s manual and decided to look on good old you tube. I knew that this was more than I wanted to deal with myself when I saw all the tools needed for the job. Thanks for doing this video, it was really informative.
You’re the kind of mechanic I got my primary education of gearheading from so needless to say I like the way you work and educate, thanks for the video!
$200 at BMW huh? Good luck with that one! Our BMW dealer service gave us the $375 answer to the replace the halo bulb problem. Thus I just watched your video and I’ll save almost $300 USD and do it myself! Thank you Canadian friend.
Well - I just want to say Thanks a million, i have watched your video multiple times before pulling the trigger and buying the $45+Dls bulb and installing it my self. The dealer would charge $164 for labor only. So I saved that cash thanks to you.... A pain in the rear for sure. Mine was the right side, which the panel that covers the wheel has a sensor of sort. This is on a 2008 - 335i. Remove the cable to the sensor to remove the cover completely and i had access to the area where the little black housing for the bulb resides. Thank you again for taking the time to create this video.
Thank you for posting this video. Those of us who aren't necessarily mechanically inclined find that necessity demands we attempt the "relatively" simple repair jobs should be at least considered done by us before bowing down to the paymasters at the dealerships and unsavory repair shops.
As those of us who work on our own cars know, the details of BMW's can vary depending upon the year/model and the type of headlights, Halogen vs. Xenon. My US spec 2010 328 sedan has halogens and the process is identical to the video except, the bulb is very different which affects the installation of the bulb. There is a funky cage around the front of the bulb. This snaps around the ends of the plastic rings to provide the light. But when you remove and install, it doesn't just pull out, and can't be just pushed straight back in. To remove, you need to remove the right screw and then the left, pivot the unit counter clockwise slightly then remove by pulling back. To reinstall (this was a pain) you need to position it, insert the left screw almost all the way, then pivot the bulb clockwise, then tighten the right screw. Hope this helps anyone who has a similar bulb. Problem is there are so many variants it's hard for any one process to apply to all.
Sorry for the late reply Kevin - no surprise BMW and most others sub parts on the fly sometime - good info for people to know - thanks and Cheers from Canada!
Great video - very clear. I started looking at doing it on my 2006 325i - opened the wheel well access panel and confirmed that was a non-starter, thought about getting it jacked up (this car doesn't even come with a jack since it has run-flats) and the whole wheel well cover removal, then tried to access it from the top by removing the air filter. That almost worked; not quite enough room to get the top clip disengaged or for the torx wrench. At that point I resigned myself to the $200 and I put everything back together... and... voila!!! The halo light came back. Moral of the story - just fiddle with the wires and the bulb case first. I'd rather be lucky than good anytime.
Thanks for this great video and demonstration. This is for cars with standard halogen lights fitted. For those that have factory fitted xenon lights you can change the angel eyes from under the hood. I have BMW X5 E70 with halogen lights and can't change angel eye bulb from under the hood.
yeah i removed the wheel and wheel well covers all from my car just to find out that the bulb isnt even there!!! Turns out its acually accessible from under the hood! jist need a flathead screwdriver to pop off the headlight covers and you have full access to the day time running lights (angel eyes). DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GOOF!
Awesome, thanks for the great video! My windshield washer pump on my '06 E90 also went out (same side as the burned out angel eye), so this was a convenient fix for both! Just to confirm it was the pax side bulb that was burned out, I turned on my parking lights only to see the driver side had also burnt out...grrrr... Both bulbs lasted 9 yrs, 10 months and burned out within one month of each another. Oh well....ordering another bulb now! Thought about replacing w/ LED upgrades, but two bulbs are $90 compared to $160 for LED...and I'm juts fixing it to sell it anyway. Thanks again for the great instructions!
Thanks for the tutorial. I needed a turn signal bulb for my E85 Z4 and was shocked that BMW wanted over $40 for the part. You mentioned that removing the wheel was a recommendation. Something from my darker side says that would be an entertaining You Tube to see the repair with wheel in place !!!
Very well done mine just went out and thought i had to take it in for sure. But now im just going to go buy the bulb thanks for saving me money and being without my car for a day or two.
Thanks a lot! Instructions were perfect. Easy job. Only it was 110 and humid in the garage and the car was still hot from driving. Other than the sweat, piece of cake. You're right. Just less than an hour, all in.
I have this issue. The weird part is the bulb seems to work. It doesn’t work when initial power on hit works when headlights are full on. Just for troubleshooting I swapped the Halogen H8 bulb from right to left. Message came up for the Left Daytime Running Lamp/Parking lamp fail. I believe Isolated the bulb and hopefully can just be replaced behind the headlamp assembly frame. When out on errands tomorrow I will get the Bulb assembly and see how it goes. If that doesn’t work then I will go to this step and pull tire.
Thanks for the video very nice. If you're the kind of person that gets frustrated though, get frustrated and save yourself 200 dollars and don't the risk of a BMW dealership garage denting your car in their workshop and listening to them deny that a fresh dent was there before they did any work. BMW dealerships have damaged my car on two occasions, so if you have to take your car to a BMW dealership I strongly advise that you get the garage manager to check car for any damage, BEFORE they do any work. Predominately this is the ideal job for an apprentice mechanic, who could not give a shit about your nice car.
Its a fact - 50% of the time you take the car in - they don't fix the problem, or overcharge or damage it - the other 50% they get it fixed - so in my opinion you risk little even if you do screw it up
That sounds about right, it's definitely taking a huge chance to trust them to actually do the job without getting screwed over in some way. Thanks again for the video it was a big advantage to avoid that.
I did notice some of the insulation on the connector is worn so I might wind up having to splice in a new piece of wire. Even if I have it pull the inner fender liner that is still way better than removing the entire headlamp assembly which I suspect will require removal of the front bumper cap. Thanks for the help hopefully the US models are similar to yours.
I’m confused. Couldn’t you have removed the headlight from the hood and replaced the bulb? That’s how some videos show at least for the 5 series BMW. Is this different?
great detailed video of how. At end or when connecting wire show that it works before putting it all back together again. Would have been nice to see the end result.
On my E92 2007 I did this on both headlights from above in the engine bay? There's a little plastic cover you can remove on the top of the headlights. Once you remove this you need either small hands or good dexterity but it's not that difficult. Much less effort than taking wheels and arch liners out...
Have to love BMW. One hour job to change a lightbulb. I had to replace the pump on the window washer fluid reservoir. Pretty much the same type of job, instead of going forward for the lights you back for the reservoir on the passenger side. Buried inside the fender. Not being a pro-mechanic and moving slowly as not to break anything it was a 2 hour job to replace a 5 dollar part. I think BMW designers do most of their work at Octoberfest. Still can't wrap my head around a $75 lightbulb though. Aftermarket here I come.
I did the windshield washer pump on my 2010 Audi A6... pump is at base of fender behind the drivers front wheel. If you take the tire and splash shield should take about 10-15 minutes. Actually fairly simple logic. Pump it at about the lowest point of pump below the low level sensor. Pump had crack in the housing $20 US at FCP Europarts. Don’t try to fight the wheel you will lose. Take wheel off and make it a quick job.
Dude... Although I've not changed an Angel light yet (have replaced main headlight.) I found your video to be great! Right to the point; great presentation. One comment: Next time please add the part number(s)... I can purchase these parts from many sources in the US (ECS Tuning; Bavarian Auto-Parts... to name a few) Thanks so much! I have a 2008 335i Coupe. I have done all the work myself including an elect water pump / thermostat replacement as well as expansion tank, Spark plugs and coil(s) replacement. I was also able to replace the crankshaft position sensor for USD $60 (Dealer wanted USD $1850+++) and most of my day (driveway job; did it from the bottom; all UA-cam showed was from the top... I saved 5 hours at least and never broke a plastic intake part. Anyway... thanks for the straightforward video... Aloha... PS: My wife had a momentary (5~10 seconds) cockpit / dash waring light that seems to relate to an exterior light in-op (most people lean towards the tail light. All our exterior lights work. She ran over a bump just prior. Could that jolt make a light blink on and off? Should I address it... Just asking... Thanks again... Gene
Wow very impressive. Mine is out and Shop tried to tell me whole bumper had to come off to change it and wanted to charge me over $600. For labor plus replace the whole complete light assembly. So glad I said I'll wait and sée it's on driver side sure watching this I can handle it. Sure appreciate it. Have 328xi 2008 made in Germany not US. Hopefully be same as what you just experienced. Thank you ! I'm definitely watching you 😁
Anytime Vince - glad it worked out for you - BTW could you do me a favour and check out my arthritis video and let me know what you think please - I need some feedback - cheers! ua-cam.com/video/a7np4SOn1KE/v-deo.html
On a 2008 BMW 550i with Xenon and Adaptive headlight, the daytime running light is burned but the assembly where it attached to and the interior ring came off as well. How do you replace the assembly since it is burned! Appreciate your feedback to solve the problem.
good illustration. I changed it for $10 for each light bulb. Here is the trick. ..... brake from the end as you were thinking just to replace the inner bulb, not with the housing (that is why they charge you so much ). I went to couple of auto stores and found one(NAPA) selling it (not all of them do ). I actually bought 20w instead 10W, the original. It is brighter and nicer. Once you put the bulb in, just use super glue to touch around the egde. It was like new. Then put every thing back. I relaced both for $20. Otherwise they will not be even brightness, left and right sides (one light bulb for both angel lights on each side ). In the future, if these light bulbs goes out, change them both for $50. Someone did it, nice led. Look for GENSSI Elite Halo Angel Eyes Bulbs For BMW Headlights on Amazon.
The manual for the US version (they are parking lights here) says pop off the large cover and reach in and pull the bulb out. I believe the manual is in error, the 06 is an early car, built 8/05
Cristian Tudoricu I just got my one done at a mechanics it's was $200.58 labour and $15 for the light. I had no idea it was going to be that much otherwise I would had gone through with it. And now I am coming across this video 😩😫
Does this procedure work on the 745 Li as well.. I know most have to take the bumper a loose some even all the way off this is much easier so I thought I’d ask
I did changed my E66 halo light, I just unbolt 4 bolts holding the headlight assembly and pulled it a little bit forward, then just changed the bulb. about 15min jop
The warning system could be faulty but I doubt it. What its telling you is that another bulb is burnt out - check every light on the exterior - license plate, 3rrd stop light etc very carefully
I don't think you mentioned what year of X5 you ave. I have a 2012 and it has a bad day time running light. Dealer told me I need to replace the whole assembly, they said replacing the bulb only is not an potion in these. If yours is not 2012, do you or anyone else know if its possible to replace the bulb only?
I have x5 2009. The halo bulb is yellow i need to change it to white one. Is i have to change it from top or from down ( same in the video) .. what is the type of that bulb?
I have a 2008 BMW 528i, and dash warning says park light which by looking at light is the inside Halo on the passenger side. Would this be the same process?
The inside reflector on my 330 acts as the DRLs, halo rings don't light up unless I turn on the parking lights. Do you happen to know the bulb size for the inside reflector? Like if you looked at the car head on it would be the light towards the center.
+bmwmsport11 Your '' highbeam '' acts as DRL? Buy a Bluetooth obd2 (mine is called ELM327) and get the Carista app ( full version is needed, costs 25$) and then you can change what lights acts as DRL. My xenons were always on before but now ONLY halo rings acts as drl, no rear lights or plate lights =)
I am surprised it's so difficult, older MY. The Euro code has mandated that lamps must be easy to replace I don't know what MY that started BUT my VW GTI 2019 has easy access from engine compartment with rubber covers that just pop off from back of headlights assys, about 3 of em for easy access. Same for 2013 Tiguan VW. Of course reaching into the headlight assy isn't all the spacious, but it sure beats this method!. The VW also has the access door, for the fogs....no tire removal.
I have a 2011 328 canadian model, the drl on the passenger side are not as bright as the driver's side, but no warning light came on. Can it be a fuse or is it the bulb?
I have a 2006 bmw 330i and I too myself have the same problem as far as both the halo lights went out on my drivers side..I have all the tools to do the job and I'm about to order the bulbs but I just need to know if there's one light bulb that illuminates both angel eyes (halo's) or 2 separate bulbs? Please help
This has been driving me crazy for weeks. BMW gave me this replacement like based on my VIN but that housing is not down there when I go to look(only H8 and regular LED). I don't know if my car is different or of BMW has the wrong part listed in their system.
@@carquestions I really think they screwed up, there is no room for that light anywhere down there. But considering I'm they did it on my Vin on a out of warranty video I'm not sure if they'll let me return the part
Well the first thing to do is inspect the wiring near it and the connector - if they are damaged get yourself to the nearest auto recycler and get them to cut off the connector and some extra wiring and then splice it into your car by soldering it together
Great video! Thank you! By the way, at 4:50 you mention a "push pin" an wonder why they used that. The reason is very simple: you don't need to remove that one!
+Sebastian Ravinet After checking this again it appears this is to speed installation at the factory - you can clearly see a mating hole for the push pin so durring assembly at the factory this pin goes in first to hold it up while they install screws possibly at the next station down the line
***** That seems like a very reasonably explanation. Nonetheless, you don't need to remove it. I'm not sure, but I don't think you need to the screws on either side of it either.
Might not be - check your manual - if it says how to change it then follow that - if it doesn't mention it or says go to the dealer then this procedure might work
Mark, your tutorial is great. You're clear, concise, and know your stuff. Thanks for making videos that the novice can follow!
Thank you very much for making this video. It was VERY educational, informative and easy to follow. I also really like how you let the viewer know that it is a bit frustrating and if you can't handle it, get it done.

That comment about "less bolts because an improper previous repair" ! 100% correct for me Sir ! half of them were missing.
Very common - sloppy mechanics figure you'll never know they damaged your car
exactly. thanks
Thanks for the comment and info Miguel - much appreciated
Hi, can I ask where you got the bulbs from? what website or what link?
Thank you for posting this video. Those of us who aren't necessarily mechanically inclined find that necessity demands we attempt the "relatively" simple repair jobs should be at least considered done by us before bowing down to the paymasters at the dealerships and unsavory repair shops.
anytime

YES...it has a little lent in front the bulb...You need retire the lend and put the new one..
Sorry for the late reply Kevin - no surprise BMW and most others sub parts on the fly sometime - good info for people to know - thanks and Cheers from Canada!
you don't need to take the splash guard out the bulb is accessible from the access panel. it is a bit fiddly but perfectly doable and takes less time.
what do you mean access panel?
chelseaa schmidt inthe innerfender there is a hole for purpose like this
Depends on the model
Thanks for taking the time to make such a detailed 'how to'.
Anytime
Thanks for this great video and demonstration. This is for cars with standard halogen lights fitted. For those that have factory fitted xenon lights you can change the angel eyes from under the hood. I have BMW X5 E70 with halogen lights and can't change angel eye bulb from under the hood.
BMW is NOTORIOUS for making simple things way more complicated than it should. They sure work hard to hold that kind of title
+dosquest Haha, That's for sure. Changing the battery ranks right up there too.
Definetly...I never seen other cars needing so much to change a headlight bulb...usually pop the hood pop out old pop in new
fords are way more complicated. u have to dismantle whole fornt light.
Technically, I'm supposed to pull the entire front fender to replace the parking light on my Caddy Escalade. Ridiculous!
Nah mate they make things more easier for the mechanic
Nicely done ...love the attention to details and the heads up! My angel light just went out.
Glad it helped Sean - Cheers from Canada!
I don’t understand 509 dislike must be bmw garage 😂 the guy put his time Video this to our benefit ..
I thanking you man for this .👌🏻👍🏻
dude he did Not specify what model !
509 must be bmw garage employees 😆😆😆
Ya not all BMW are like this E60 62 E90 ect ect totally different u belllend
Maybe they didn't like the lack of camera focus at times
yeah i removed the wheel and wheel well covers all from my car just to find out that the bulb isnt even there!!! The halo rings are the DRL's in Canada - they are one in the same
Thanks for the tutorial.

You mentioned that removing the wheel was a recommendation.
Something from my darker side says that would be an entertaining You Tube to see the repair with wheel in place !!!
Harder to see for sure
if you only require to do the passenger side i.e Air filter position you can remove the Air filter housing and access is easy enough
One of the best diy clips for replacing bulbs
Sorry for the very late reply TS - Cheers from Canada!
Very well done mine just went out and thought i had to take it in for sure. But now im just going to go buy the bulb thanks for saving me money and being without my car for a day or two.

No problem Gospy
Great tutorial. Just did it, worked out great. Even found plenty of messed up details by the previous mechanic. Thanks.
Glad to be of service
Your hair color, thickness, and detail is well documented now.
Thanks for noticing

I’m confused. Couldn’t you have removed the headlight from the hood and replaced the bulb? That’s how some videos show at least for the 5 series BMW. Is this different?
Some 5 series are different and can't be done from the top
In my E90 3 series too, drivers side is not accessible from the hood. Passenger side is.
great detailed video of how. At end or when connecting wire show that it works before putting it all back together again. Would have been nice to see the end result.
It worked perfectly Steve - Cheers from Canada!
Thanks a lot for this tutorial.

Is there 2 bulbds...1 for daytime running 1 for hid night lights?
This car doesn't have any hids
appreciate the video. I am replacing an adaptive headlight control module and was looking for info to gain access to the area.
Anytime John
Do you by chance know the part number for the replacement? I'm having a real hard time locating it.. Thanks

Replace the license plate lights - they can intermittently open and close because of a weak filament

Nice job Rhiannon! excellent work - Cheers from Canada and thanks for the comment!
real question is, how do you get 28mpg! Thats amazing!!
Diesel
I get 45mpg out of my 2007 325d.
I’m at 14.8 and gas is current 4.89 for 91 😭
You get it by being heavy on the throttle 😂
I get 34mpg on my 330i?
were are you located. i will bring it to you.
I don't have a retail location - home based only sorry
I have an appointment with Bayside BMW in NY on 1-24-23. Do you have an idea on how much it will cost me.
Great video. One thing I have noticed as am driving my 2006 bwm 330 at night, the left head light blinks sometimes. Do you know why this is happening?
My daytime running light on my 08 335xi is a H7. As far as my halos go, I'd like to possibly change to a light blue color.
Sounds good Mike if you can find a supplier online
Great video mate. Thanks for that video and I look forward to more videos
Thanks for the Video. I'm yet to change mine and because of your video it's going to be very easy for me.May God bless you for the good Job.
Glad to be of service to you
Thanks for your efforts...mine went in with little strain.
It was burned by someone incorrectly installing the bulb - whole light assembly needs replacement in most cases
Does this fix both set of drl on one side or is there a separate bulb for each one?
I'm trying to figure out the same thing
One bulb for the set drl.
Can anyone find the cap and gasket he removes at 6:15 online? Cant seem to find part number anywhere.
Trust me the dealer never charge u under $350. Thumbs up if u agree.
You know it
Jodie Pham i paid $370
I was quoted 450.00 on 2014 x5
good illustration.
The increased wattage may burn the fixture so watch out
6:44 nice hair!
Just realized my car doesn't have the little cover on the light (6:16). Does anyone know where can I buy it?? Thanks.
Dealer or wrecking yard
carquestions thank you :)
thanks my friend for showing me to stay away from this job. i am just going to pay the money
Sometimes the best decision - Cheers from Canada!
Do you have the part number?
Great video. However, it was much easier for me to remove the light assembly....four screws and out. 2009 5 series.
Yes agreed - this only applies to certain models mentioned in the video where that is not possible
The manual for the US version (they are parking lights here) says pop off the large cover and reach in and pull the bulb out. I believe the manual is in error, the 06 is an early car, built 8/05
Only way to know for sure is to check under the hood for the access panel - if it has one then you can do it from under the hood
Thanks. Hugely appreciated. Saved some time and headache for my BF. ;-)
anytime Henrietta
Thanks! This saves me hours of trying to solve the puzzle on my own. Now I just need to accept the fact the bulb is ridiculously expensive.
Next time put year and model in title for better search results.
Thanks for the advice
Thanks for video! It took me exact 2 hours to change those. Now I have great looking led angel eyes!
+Delta 4 glad to help
Would rather just do the upgrade for LED or CCFL Halo rings like the LCI 1 and 3 series cars.
Hi there..thanks for loading this videos..its just make it worthwhile to own a BMW and its quiet a cost saving..Thanks again..
Anytime Rick
Excuse me , you said $200 job for a bulb change ?? That much cost an engine swap in Uk . Lol
That's right - BMW dealers charge a few pounds over here to fix things
Cristian Tudoricu I just got my one done at a mechanics it's was $200.58 labour and $15 for the light. I had no idea it was going to be that much otherwise I would had gone through with it. And now I am coming across this video 😩😫
I'm also from New Zealand
I have a 2011 and was wondering if you can replace the yellow bulb with a white one from BMW.
Bmw is so poorly design...my w204 c300 is way easier to replace something like this...
They design it like that so people go back to the main dealer to spend their money on having BMW doing it for them.
exactly right
The car was engineered around German common sense. Which is obviously different from the rest of the world.. douchebags.
- I still love my e90 though
Does this procedure work on the 745 Li as well.. I know most have to take the bumper a loose some even all the way off this is much easier so I thought I’d ask
you didn't even show finished product goofball
yes he did.
*SPOILER ALERT* the light comes on... feel better???
lmaooo
Yes he did
I did changed my E66 halo light, I just unbolt 4 bolts holding the headlight assembly and pulled it a little bit forward, then just changed the bulb. about 15min jop
thanks for the tip
What year?i have a 2007
I changed the bulb for the DRL, but the warning light did not go away!! The light is working well though. Will appreciate any help. Thanks.
The warning system could be faulty but I doubt it. What its telling you is that another bulb is burnt out - check every light on the exterior - license plate, 3rrd stop light etc very carefully
i will do that , truly appreciate your response , thank you !!
use a 10w bulb minimum....20w are brighter
hi there friend on my bmw 128i 2008 Napa auto parts are just selling me the bulb for the daytime running light am i good to changing it ?
Can't say for sure - sorry I haven't changed one of those yet - check the manual and see if they tell you how
ok thanks friend
Question please ???
Why my ring lights not coming on any more when I unlock the door ???
I have x5 m sport BMW
Masoud - you need to get into the driver custom menu settings - its explained in the owner's handbook - Cheers from Canada!
If it is replaceable it should list it in your manual somewhere - after searching for 2 hours that is
The light cover bottom is also clipped. Didn't really have to force it but the video is excellent irregardless.
did 1 a while back, u dont have to replace to complete unit as the bulb inside should pop out and can be replaced and should be no more than a pound
I already changed the bulb and it works but the message on the dash is still on. How can I reset this? Thank you.
There is another light out somewhere on the outside of the car
carquestions Thank you. I will check.
Can you change the halogen with HID for both low beam and high beam and also the angel eye with led?
Yes - but you need to get very clear instructions first
do the halos blink with the indicator or stay steady when the indicator is on?
Stay on no blinking
What is the exact name of the light you need? I have a 330i and need to replace it.
I am looking to upgrading my headlights and was wondering about what to replace on the halo lights when they go out. Thanks
I have x5 2009. The halo bulb is yellow i need to change it to white one. Is i have to change it from top or from down ( same in the video) .. what is the type of that bulb?
have to change it the same way unless your owners manual states a different way
I have a 2008 BMW 528i, and dash warning says park light which by looking at light is the inside Halo on the passenger side.
My daylights do the same thing sometimes they both work sometimes the divers side daylights only turn on the indicator light how do I fix this?
Could be the bulb or bad ground or other electrical connection - not the fuse
2012 335I BMW. Does it require programming ? A shop wants to charge me $2300. Because it needs programming as well 🤷🏻♂️
No programming is required Gama - Cheers from Canada!
GREAT DETAILED VIDEO! WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER AND OR DESCRIPTION FOR THAT BULB? THANK YOU
sorry I don't know
I have a 2006 bmw 330i and I too myself have the same problem as far as both the halo lights went out on my drivers side..I have all the tools to do the job and I'm about to order the bulbs but I just need to know if there's one light bulb that illuminates both angel eyes (halo's) or 2 separate bulbs? Please help
+Jorel Godwin in the video it shows clearly one light per side per drl
+carquestions thanks
can this bulb unit assembly be bought with an led frost bulb?
Check out the aftermarket I think so
This has been driving me crazy for weeks. BMW gave me this replacement like based on my VIN but that housing is not down there when I go to look(only H8 and regular LED). I don't know if my car is different or of BMW has the wrong part listed in their system.
Look at the part closely in the video - if it looks the same then they did give you the right part - if not they screwed up
@@carquestions I really think they screwed up, there is no room for that light anywhere down there. But considering I'm they did it on my Vin on a out of warranty video I'm not sure if they'll let me return the part
What if it's not the bulb and it's the wiring ? How do you change that or where can I buy them ? Please help !?
Well the first thing to do is inspect the wiring near it and the connector - if they are damaged get yourself to the nearest auto recycler and get them to cut off the connector and some extra wiring and then splice it into your car by soldering it together
So you only need the one bulb to change the lights on both the halos?
Good point I should have made it clear you need one bulb per side - so two in total
Is this the procedure on a 2009 bmw 3 series 328i hard top convertible?
Might not be - check your manual - if it says how to change it then follow that - if it doesn't mention it or says go to the dealer then this procedure might work
So the OEM replacement part number is BMW 63 11 7 161 444, or is this only the fitting? Thanks
That's your recommendation...I guess I wasn't specific enough. I was referring to model, type and make? Thanks..
After you look at all the model features types and makes - get the one with the best warranty - thats as specific as I'm going to get
I got the message but light appears to be working. Is there a rear DRL bulb that I might have overlooked?
Yes - there is another bulb burned out somewhere on the exterior
i'm glad I got the E92 335i, it's like 5 mins to change these lights, sooo much easier.
