So I've been gone for a while and while I was away comic book content just kept getting pumped out from DC and Marvel. I stopped following it because it just got worse and worse. But here I am now venting and rambling about the MCU and DCEU. As well as talking about what I've been up to (mainly watching anime). I also have a section where I talk about what Manga is doing better than comics because why not? So enjoy that. This is long overdue and not sure when I'll upload again. - Розваги

As someone who grew up reading comic books and as someone who used to get really excited about comic book media ... I'm GLAD the genre is dying. To say it's been beaten to the ground is an understatement.
I feel like Spider-Man is literally the only character who is holding the line at this point.

He made his point though: he's "finally" back because CBMs are dead. They've sucked for years now, and the only rhing pushing the envelope has been Snyder and Reeves. MCU has been trash for years, and the last one worth a darn was IW. And that movie was 3/5. These movies are supremely overrated.

And I 1 million percent agree. The whole comic book movie genre is dead. It has no soul just same formula nothing new or creative. And anime is definitely better. But take care bro. There’s still great content it’s just rare now
GOTG3, Spider-verse 2, The Boys, The Batman and Gen V. But the problem is there’s way too much bad to mid content like Ant man 3, Secret Invasion, the flash. I still have hope that James Gunns DCU will be good and as for marvel Eco looks great, and I’m excited for Deadpool three and blade
I hate that all that excitement will be smashed by disdain. Dude, gunn is a pedo-freak and doesn't understand DC characters (ie. Suicide Skwad). He should host some more p3d0 parties and leave comics alone. He can have lil boys dress up as racoons and trees and have a blast.

First time viewer, and on an unrelated note, I appreciate what you said at the end. I've felt bad for not posting anything on my reaction channel for a while, but I honestly haven't enjoyed making those videos for some time now. It's nice to know that even UA-camrs with a lot more subscribers feel that way sometimes, and your mentality reminded me that I can still come back to my channel every once in a while if I have a genuine desire to do so.

Genuinely don’t know if we saw the same movie. Think I creamed myself a few times watching it. When I heard mid I genuinely thought I zoned out and missed something. I know my standards are pretty simple but I’m not that stupid and basic right? Cuz I enjoyed it way more than most movies, shows, anime, and literally anything recently. one technique that the animes utilise really well is the shift/change in aspect ratio between the stories.... I've seen a lot of animes that change the aspect ratio in between episodes but it doesn't feel jarring they often do it for a reason and meshes really well with the story unlike Hollywood which just use the technique for no rhyme or reason (yes I'm looking at you Nolan)

The rest of us understand that one of the best directors of our time knows what tf he's doing and has every reason to do exactly what he does. He's not "randomly doing things." That's what someone who lacks understanding claims and then yells, "Well then, prove it to me!"

Once the Snyderverse was not allowed a proper closure, i knew then the comic book genre got saturated for both movies and television. Not even a multiverse storyline could save it now becaus erhey wasted its potential so far.
Ffs WB, what Snyder attempted to do with DC is what Mortal Kombat has done for you twice now. And you could have used the multiverse to allow multiple continiuties from respective universe to run as they please while occasionally doing cross overs. Certain audiences get their version of ghe character they like while the others get their version. Actors and actresses can also portray multiple characters from each supposed universe story too.

I feel like we’ve hit a plateau regarding comic book movies. There was a time were, if it wasn’t Reeves Superman or Keatons Batman it was garbage, then at the turn of the century things started looking good, Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman Begins, Iron Man, then before we knew it comic book movies were dominating cinema. The mid 2000’s-mid 2010’s were definitely the peak for cbm, every studio was creating their own cinematic universe to try bank off Marvel’s success (with little success), but the the time came that would prove the formula couldn’t last forever, Endgame capped off the story the MCU we’re building too for the last decade, the story had supposedly come to an end, but studios still need to make money, so basically everything after that just became content, and we started to hit a plateau. Of course, we still have some gems, but like the pre 2000’s era, they are rare.

Nah not really. Best thing to do is to look at some anime that interests you then pick up volume one to see how you like it. From there you just look around to see what interests you. I'll recommend Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaison as some good starters but from there just look and see what grabs your attention. Berserk, Vinland Saga and Vagabond are also good if you want something more mature.
Some sites I use are MangaDex and MangaKamalot. Cause not everything is on Shonen Jump. But Shonen Jump has a lot of options, you can get the app for free.

When Star Wars died, I found Gundam (read/watch Gundam Thunderbolt!). When Game of Thrones died, I found Berserk. When MCU died, I have One Punch man.
Also, you should play Signalis. I remember you used to love Silent Hill/Resident Evil a while ago. It's like the perfect successor to those games.

Gen V definitely sounds like one of those Disney+ tier filler shows, but man, it's something else entirely. really recommended. also, if you have to choose between Shazam 2 and Blue Beetle, I'd say choose the latter. glad to have you back Tex!

I'm still holding out for Spider-Man and Batman related projects but in term's of actral comic books, I'm only wanting to buy some of the older stuff and even getting a good price for the oldest stuff is still a rip-off compared to some of the manga I've purchased and is much easier to get in to.....I'm actually also gotten back into Anime, I've been discovering a whole heap a new ones and I've got to say the anime genre and mangas are pretty based compared to the comic book and movie industry right now
I have also moved away from these western Superheroes. I can't stand what they are doing now and the new DCU under James Gunn makes me feel sick just thinking about it.
It's true: Manga and Anime is where it's at. And when it comes to film? I watched some films I haven't caugh up with in a long time. Just watched Hereditary and The Witch, horror movies I hadn't seen yet and they were amazing. I also watch a lot of old stuff. Old Italian horror for example. I found the subgenre of Giallo months ago. It was like finding a goldmine. Dozens and dozens of crazy crime thriller/horror movies with style and crazy twists. So much fun.
Screw Marvel and DC. Restore The SnyderVerse or bust.

Personally got tired of comic book superhero movies in general as they don't really grab me much except for some select few. However, I would like to recommend you Hilda, this is a really nicely done show with adventure and wonder on the corner.

Glad you did search for something better than capeshit movies, because so did I and I am more than thankful I did, realistically the genre has never been that good (and so was the MCU), it also doesn't help that the media discussions surrounding this (and Star Wars too) is terrible and feela like trying to not step on a explosive mine.
Also if I didn't do that I would probably have never played something like Killer7, but I did, and it's the best game ever so kudos for tgat.

Yeah there's not a whole lot of modern comic releases that have me reading and keeping up with. I think I'm only reading 1 so far, and that's the current run for Moon Knight its like the 1 good modern run i would recommend lol
I'm only looking forward to Batman and Spider-Man related projects like its 2010 again😂.....And also the more niche stuff like Invincible the Boy's and I guess anything to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since their popularity goes up and down between the years depending on what project comes out
I’d say that the only comic book adaptations that I was hyped and excited to most this year were both GOTG Vol.3 and Across The Spider-Verse.
Other than that, my hype for Comic Book adaptations has been low since last year.
13:40 the alternative stories you're talking about ARE in American comics, but they are niche or not well hidden. Most of the US comic industry is run by advertising. Japan's Manga and Anime, in general, seems to get around more by word of mouth. I think this is a huge play into what gets scene and what doesn't.

I understand what you mean about comic book movies this year, there's some stuff that were good like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and Across the Spider-Verse. There's some stuff I haven't seen yet like The Flash, Loki S2, Blue Beetle, Gen V and Invincible S2. Also, it's nice to see you back.
Some stuff I hope that are good like The Marvels and Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom. Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania was mid and Shazam: Fury of the Gods was decent but the first one was better. I haven't lost faith in comic book movies yet, but I do hope we can get something good hopefully. Echo looks promising because it looks like they care about telling a story and it actually looks good, Deadpool 3 looks promising, and we finally have Wolverine in the yellow and blue suit and also the movie is rated R. Blade's director says the movie is going to be R and it has the writer of Logan apart of it. Joker 2 could be good and The Boys S4 comes out next year. I have some hope for James Gunn's DCU and hopefully he'll do good with DC.
Besides comic book movies there's other stuff that's upcoming and released this year like Rebel Moon, Five Nights at Freddys, Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 remake, Killers of the Flower Moon, Scream Vl, John Wick chapter 4, Creed lll, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Saw X, Evil Dead Rise, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, Thanksgiving, Mission Impossible: Dead Recking, Dungeon's and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Nun 2, Talk to me and Totally Killer.
Other stuff releasing next year like Rebel Moon 2, Kingdom of the planet of the apes, Joker Fole a Deux, Deadpool 3, Captain America: Brave New World, A quiet place Day one, Furiosa, Nosferatu, The Strangers Trilogy, Terrifier 3, Venom 3, Gladiator 2, Sonic 3, The Crow, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Alien: Romulus and Ballerina. (the John Wick spin off that takes place after JW 3 and before 4)
He already said in this video across multiverse is mid and in another comment he said he not watching GotG3. Even with explanation you said. I don't think hollywood fixing themselves. They already deep in "the message"

yeah comic book shit is dead. Don't get it twisted, I mostly enjoyed the new spider man game and I'm excited for both Rafael grampa batman comic and mark waids superman comic but other than that I'm not excited for anything the mcu or James Gunn's new universe has to offer. so ive done my own change in media, not manga or anime, but music. ive listen to so much music, both new and old, that has excited me for art in general, which superhero movies haven't gotten me excited in a long time. anyway thx for coming back and giving your thoughts on new superhero shit, even if this is your last video its been a good run
My current favorite manga is Sakamoto days. Can't wait for the anime to come out.
To tell the truth, I chose Manga because of how interesting the creators and the whole team create a style of their own. It became unique like visual arts, and I can't lie about that. It's a lot to say, but I am not f***ing weeb for the type sh*** of 'Oh Manga is better than Anime' or 'Anime is cooked of all time'. I do like comics, but it becomes a word from the creators then focus on what's cooking.
If you miss the classic mcu Best to read the comics the New, Dark, mighty, secret Avengers from (2006-2011) they're drawn cinematic looking and the story is solid. Crazy to think the MCU skipped it to get to all new all different marvel. Heck the mystery of the Sentry would have made for a solid phase four with the new Avengers trying to find a power player no can remember before it's too late. Instead of Kang a character you know someone at Disney noticed Rick and Morty was popular and pitched wouldn't it be cool if The Avengers fought Rick Sanchez and figured Kang was close enough.
It’s probably a good thing that this is declining. These recent projects feel just phoned in and are of mediocre quality.

Well, I didn’t watch Aquaman 2 because of Amber Heard’s situation with Johnny Depp, I didn’t watch Bluebettle because (1) No interest, (2) my co-worker’s told me there’s a Hispanic superhero of Bluebettle which is I don’t give a shit about that since I’m a Hispanic person, Shazam 2 & the Flash no interest of watching these films. The last time I watched the DCEU movie is Black Adam. That’s it…
