The name makes sense too if you know some music theory basics! It's the same note, same pitch and if you're talking intervals a unison is the root note of a scale
Great lessons my brother. I received my very first guitar on my 10th birthday April 25th, 1977 and pretty much taught myself, difficult for me in the pre-tab days. After 40 years of on & off playing, you have opened up a door for me, helping me make sense of things that were already in my head & fingers in addition to new things. Thank you!
You should round it off to 50 that would include 48) finger picking (finger style), 49) bending or pushing the neck away from the guitar (not always recommended) and 50) bending the strings above the nut. Still a good job!
Great video. :) Thank you for listing those techniques. I could learn some of those. Also, I noticed at the "Triads" part, you were playing "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
I just gotta smile when I see all this. These gee-tars go on and on yielding up new sounds from clever clogs like you. Do you not realise just how much less I have to be satisfied with? Six trings is too many for me. I don't need all those frets either as I cannot play in all keys and it would make it easier for the (one) I do play in! You could have different guitars for different keys - after the capo and altered tunings ran out. Have you seen these harmonizer pitch shifting devices that can handle polyphonic? Look that was fantastic. Anyone would surely agree. Yep you made me smile. ATB Berry
Nice! Some things you left out: Hybrid Picking, Pick Raking, Travis Picking, Behind the nut bends, that thing where you push the neck of your guitar to alter the pitch.
2:19 Buck!!! Hehe Man, I loved this video, it's a good video that you can't find on UA-cam It's difficult to find a good video to tell us what the names of these techniques and effects are. This one deserves my
Thats kinda just a double stop bend with a variation. I think what makes it the country bend is the motion of dragging your pick upwards. Not just an up or downstroke, but an up drag stroke. Sounds super cool and enunciates each string descending
You are a accomplished guitarist and you make a great teacher. I am nowhere near your level and you're a help to me too. I had put my guitar down for awhile and you are helping drive my interest to pick it up again.
Start slow and repeat endlessly until you can do it accurately, speed it up just a little and practise that endlessly until you can play it accurately at that rate, rinse and repeat until your fingers approach light speed and disappear down a Black Hole.
Everyone of your subscribers should watch this if they did not see it. You sir, are amazingly talented in SO MANY STYLES!!! We don't see you chicken pick very often!!! PS: 1:25 Joe Satriani calls it the Lizard down the Throat!
This is dude is the most balanced skill set on the internet, he’s no Marcus but he a got the necessary skills to make cool music and sound with the axe. It leaves the question...”why would you want more than what this guy has?” He’s got it all in a sense
Unison Bend : Stairway to Heaven Palm Muting : For Whom the Bell Tolls Hammer-On : ??? Pull-Off : Thunderstruck Dive Bomb, Tapping : Eruption Double Tapping : Crazy Train DJ Effect : Mr. Brownstone Toggle : Know Your Enemy Pinch Harmonic : ZZ Top
i dont know if there is a lesson but what you do is you dice bomb a little bit hit a string then gradually pull it back to pitch the mute it do the some thing on another string
One way to do it that I can think of is putting the volume on one of the pickups at zero, so when you toggle rapidly back and forth there's no output in that brief instance and it effectively "kills" the sound. I believe that's what he's doing here, but I'm no expert.
that was actually pretty fun to watch. Now I know about even more things I can't do. All in 3 minutes
Yep, me too
I felt the same😞 shouldn’t have watched this before my daily practice duh!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂me too
You can't play single notes?
Same here
I love how jazz chords are just an entire entity of their own
This video is me when I’m supposed to practice
which song is the hammerons thing
What?
You're a god if you can do stuff like that and you call it escaping from practice :0
Underrated comment
Oh God yes! I couldn't concentrate on anything. It's all I can do, to tune , then play a song. The main chords are A.D.D.
2:24 never in my life seen 'harmonic slide' before that's sick dude.
You gots to listen Van Halen play live
Check out Van Halen’s “Somebody Get Me a Doctor” (1979) Right after the solo.
Eddie does those a lot
Even Jun Senoue (composer and sound director to Sonic The Hedgehog) does this too in many other songs.
you can even hear it in the Initial D song Gas Gas Gas
1:28 Kickstart My Heart. 😂
Also Bad Motor Scooter by Montrose
Dude I know it’s epic
My thoughts exatcly!
Unison bends!
I was trying to find out what that damn technique was called for years, finally!

2:03 You're now the official guitarist of Dragonforce.
1:18 shred wars!!
Holy crap you’re right
2:40 Buckethead
Doesn’t bucket head use a kill switch
@@mr.chocolatehazelnutspread8317 If a guitar has separate pickup volumes you can turn one all the way down and it pretty much acts like a killswitch
That's awesome! finasly know all the names of those skills.

@1:51 Van Halen - Erruption
I just saw 47 things I can't do. Well, actually I just started guitar 4 months ago, so it's ok. But damn. he's good.
How’d it going ?
So you can't do single notes or power chords.
Some of those are definite staples of my playing, while others are goals (banjo rolls - damn that stuff sounds good). Great video!
Great tutorial ! in 3 minures, I've learnt a lot ! Thanks so much man.
you forgot the Fingerstyle
Nice work, my Good Man! Very valuable reference material, presented with grace and humility. Yes, I said that: You shred with grace and humility.
👍

Walter Peretiatko I second this!!!! The only ones he really missed
2:53, this mighty mighty impression that I get says you're boss-tones at triads.
-- I couldn't help myself.
Great video. :) Thank you for listing those techniques. I could learn some of those.
Also, I noticed at the "Triads" part, you were playing "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
The best video on youtube that's about guitar playing
Besides the fact that you nailed this video that guitar is beautiful.

Aren’t the “Country bends” called Oblique bends? The bends where you bend one string and play that and another non bent string.
Oblique? Not sure but that sounds cool.
The-Art-of-Guitar I looked it up, yes, they’re called Oblique Bends.
I really wanna learn how to do that.
Thats kinda just a double stop bend with a variation. I think what makes it the country bend is the motion of dragging your pick upwards. Not just an up or downstroke, but an up drag stroke. Sounds super cool and enunciates each string descending

2:15 I believe you mean the Tom morello technique
You are a accomplished guitarist and you make a great teacher. I am nowhere near your level and you're a help to me too. I had put my guitar down for awhile and you are helping drive my interest to pick it up again.
Yeah, this guy is a sick guitarist. Great advertisement by him
Thanks sir, i got new ideas for playing guitar. You're great:)
I don't think we see much of you playing like yourself, Mike. I can't be the only one that would like a bit more of that.
2:14 sounds like the intro to the Guitar Hero 3 battle with Tom Morello.
Forgot fingerpicking
I feel like 2:24 was the intro to a new level
2:53 nice bosstones there
0:48 Mario Clear
2:52 Impressions That I Get Might Mighty Bosstones XD nice
Great compilation🤟🏻
this is the exact order that metal guitarists learn these techniques
How did he play sequences of four so fast? I tried and it's so hard with alternate picking
Start slow and repeat endlessly until you can do it accurately, speed it up just a little and practise that endlessly until you can play it accurately at that rate, rinse and repeat until your fingers approach light speed and disappear down a Black Hole.
Yeah, its an absurd amount of practice required. Thousands of hours over years spent on alternate picking.
1:36 Yankee Rose
Listening to this I heard sooo many tunes in my head but I can't name them for the life of me
Nice to know I discovered a technique without hearing in any songs nor seeing people do it (tap harmonics, still can't quite get it down though)
Trills and sweep picking 😯

I really want to learn how to change gears. It's my favourite guitar technique. Is there a lesson for that as well :D

This is pretty awesome!
Born with short fingers lol, i wish i could do your barre chord technique but live on 💪
2:14 Guitar Hero 3 Tom Morello boss battle anyone?
2:39 was this done with an installed killswitch or did he achieve this with the pickup toggle switch...?
