    Brilliant, very useful. I agree that if you have musicians grooving with each other making them lose the groove with a click is a bad idea. And going on your channel name I can't imagine a proper freak out done to a metronome!

    Nice talk Billy! The conductor at an orchestra is like the ghost, but every musician can see that ghost!

      Thanks! And you're right about the conductor. But also consider that the conductor is connected to the orchestra in that moment emotionally. The conductor can speed up and slow down when it's appropriate.

      Yes, that was my thought when you say you were pre-timing a click. Some bands could also benefit from a conductor or a leader in the band. I'm thinking James Brown here...
