One of my friends is a drag queen in Cardiff (Wales). He worked with Divine in the 1980s and said that he was a warm, caring man who was down to earth.
I remember dancing to his songs in a club in London many years ago. I worked in retail which seems to attract gay men. O the laughs we had and you were always safe with them. Thank you for reminding me of some happy times ❤❤❤
So lovely to see you my friend 🥰 Yes Divine was the best! Absolutely loved his music ❤ So sad he passed before he got to make his debut on TV 😓 He would've been a hit for sure 💯🥰👍
I loved Divine. He was great. I am also a huge John Waters fan. Waters did it his way. I never knew about his musical career. Polyester and Hairspray are great. Divine co-starred in a 1985 noir film called Trouble in Mind with Kris Kristofferson and Keith Carradine if you ever get to see it.
Will have to check it out 🥰 Have a listen to Divines song 'You Think Youre A Man' it was a hit song here! 🤩Divine was the bomb and so sad his life was cut short when he was about to start his new tv career. Great to see you Chris! ❤
Divine will always be in my top ten favourite actors of all time. I have been a huge John Waters fan since the late 70s, and his films are, quite simply, masterpieces. Divine, like Dolly Parton, was an angel that walked for a brief time upon this Earth. Now, please do one on the incomparable Edith Massey!!!
I loved Divine, Lust In The Dust was hilarious, so was Polyester, he was great as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, John Travolta was good but not as good as Divine. Divine was supposed to play Peg Bundy's mom on Married with Children, but he died right before taping began.
I can remember watching pink flamingos at my neighbours house on beta video I was 8 or 9 so I went home and told my dad I watched a movie were people had sex with a chicken and did a big poo and... WELL that did not go well with the neighbours in the end the boy next door and I ended up playing around for years cool memories and have loved divine ever since and love j waters serial mom a masterpiece love paulie❤
Haha 😂 I can imagine how that went down! As kids we also liked the shock value of telling our parents things like that too 🤣👍 Great memories Paul thanks for sharing my friend 🤗💕

Awe that's awesome Jayne 🥳❤ Yes the 80's were fun times especially the discos and clubs back then 🎶🎵🎶 So happy to bring back some fun memories 🎉🥰
Divine was one of the true greats, so sad he passed away so young. A magnificent talent and pioneer for all drag queens. ❤

I thought Divine and Ricki Lake were great in Hairspray. I also enjoyed Lust in the Dust. I haven't seen that one in years.
