Our new FGX Balisong is not a toy but it’s awfully hard to make yourself stop flipping it. Made entirely of Griv-Ex™ and other strategic non-metal materials, it’s a marvel of injection molding at a ridiculously low price. The double-edged blade features a sharp, reinforced point and sports twin “grip and rip” serrated edges that will cut to the bone!
Cold Steel: Be healthy, why buy junkfood when you can buy a knife? "My new diet strategy"
UPDATE after 1 month: I've lost 15 pounds.
Hayden Leiker and 300 dollars
And no extravagant hamburger sandwiches?
If you said update why does it not say Edited?

Congrats
Lynn your kind of psycho. It’s very entertaining.
I'm thinking you're saying this casually. Many people are most fortunate not to learn how brutal and mean danger can be.
I hear you brother. All true. That said, Twenty people agree with me ... so far. Lynn, Your kind of psycho. It’s very entertaining...
Lynn is my kind of crazy!
Texas knife laws no longer prohibit balisongs, FYI 🙂👍
We could carry anything lol, even a sword HB1935
And brass knuckles...lol
I don't know if Lynn sees these comments or not, but if he does I just wanted to tell him how much I respect him and his company.
We'll make sure Lynn see's this one, thank you Florida Man.
@@csknives
Thank you.
@@csknives I made the comment on another video that this isn't my kind of knife. But you gotta ask...which one do you want to loose in a SD situation. Will this object do what it is obviously intended to do?? Yes. If you use it only in a SD situation, and not as a beater..it'll work. If it gets confiscated, or you loose it, just like the FGX delta darts...which I love btw...were good...get two more. CS has mzde FRN blades before.
I've been a CS customer since 1987. Thank you Cold Steel...thank you LCT and company. You are family to us here.
@@tikkidaddy excellent reasoning. In my experience $300+ knives being taken into evidence sucks ASS!
@@ssunfish - Agreed but if you don't cause trouble you don't get into trouble. My EDC for 25 years has been the 6" serrated Vaquero Grande. I had 4 and I'm down to 2. Not one has been taken but I have had to ditch 2. Being friendly with cops also helps. And I don't show my junk to anyone.
You guys officially make a plastic knife deadlier than some of other companies' steel knives. What a time to be alive.
My question is: when can we expect a metal version or versions? Not that I don't like the idea of a plastic knife, but I do like a traditional blade.
bro what lmao
That burger looked pretty good
Not a fan but like the idea of non metal knives. Great job pushing knife technology.
Why? Easier to dispose of?😅😂
I understand your thinking behind making it, but most states dont allow balisongs outside of the home. So most people buying them will just be flipping them and using it for small cutting tasks....I definitley dig this knife but I think alot of people wanna see what cold steel can do with their design and production smarts towards a flippers balisong...Single edge metal knife, that flips like butter..Take care
Come to the South, you are free here to carry a balisong, and we like cooking for friends! Southern Hospitality ain't just a flippant turn of phrase!
You seem to be asking for a premium knife at a gas station knife price. You already know you can get what you're asking Lynn C. Thompson to make, you just don't want to pay much.
@@ssunfish well sir you're wrong. I own plenty of 1,000$ balisongs...I also appreciate value and design smarts too. I actually went to high school with Demko and his brother that runs a Jui Jitsu school in my home town. So that's one of the main reasons I wanna see what they can do...Take care.
@@reignick1133 Lucky guy man, I wouldn't mind having a beer and a flip with you anyday good sir, take care
@@50StichesSteel heard your point. My bad. Mistook you for another.
Great defense knife, would like to see a bigger version in the future. Like a 6 or 7 in blade FGX balisong 👍. This is going to change the polymer knife business! Very cool.
Stop fingering the meat Lynn!!!!!
I made a sheath for this for my ankle, just from some nylon belts I had lying around, and this is a great backup "knife" it's large enough to intimidate, and the serrations actually make for a great cutter, but best of all, it's so damn light you won't even feel it, but you'll always know it's there.
Perfect to bypass metal detectors
Genius product.
I'm amazed the plastic pins can withstand such abuse.
With how inexpensive it is I’ll buy the knife and a big fat burger, large coke and fries and still have money left for the bus.
That's my take!! I'd buy 4 and an Extravagant meal to celebrate the coup!
This thing is plastic, and it's stronger, sharper and cheaper than the majority of metal chinese butterflys. IT'S FREAKING PLASTIC!!!!!!
Great job as always: my kudos to Lynn!
I'm a CS customer since more than 20 years, and I'm looking forward to being surprised and delighted even more in the next 20 ;-)
Will it come out in steel?
They already have a steel balisong.
@JAC Yes :( never realized that. Also it seems to be discontinued (although still available in some shops).
@JAC They also had a real one, Arc Angel, but it's also must be discontinued. Didn't know about it because it is illegal here (blade is longer than 9cm).
Man this is so cool. Thank goodness this is legal in CO, only open carry though. Not a balli guy but man this is just so innovative as a weapon. The serrations patents and piercing power sold me.
That is me too. I was sold by this video and really glad Cold Steel is on my UA-cam feed so I caught it. On my radar to buy now.
I'll take two orders of XL
Bali song please
And three Large Espadas
Combo edge Bowie blade would be sick!!
Great for sneaking through metal detectors
*TSA WOULD LIKE TO KBOW YOUR LOCATION*
Bruh XD
I would love to meet lynn and get to have a conversation with him. Such an inspiring company.
The truth is that many of the products that Lynn and Cold Steel produce are UNIQUE in that no other company on this planet is producing anything like them-most especially the ultra-cool plastic stuff they make.
It’s a strange thing to observe, because we think of the world as being a big place with lots of variety. When it comes to knives, that’s sort of true; but try finding anyone else making the assortment of plastic knives, bats, even swords, that Cold Steel makes.
In the mid 1990s I used to think of Cold Steel as being gimmicky and cheap and intended for mall ninjas. My feelings about the company have changed drastically as I have come to understand how incredibly useful and versatile their products are.
IDK Lynn that burger looks mighty good man
Mine is on it's way to my door right now I'm sure I'll love it
We hope you love it.
@@csknives flipping it right now and I do like be it and I don't care what anyone thinks this think will do some damage.
And it flips nice.
I’m 100% getting one but ima dull one side. And might get another one cause why not. Looks awesome and I’m looking forward to future cold steel products.
I’m a huge cold steel fan. Lynn put his heart into these products. I hate that he is selling his company. I know he’s probably tired and ready to retire. I have respect for him. I just hope whoever takes the reins keeps things high quality.
Really awesome knife video😊👍!!!
Awesome pony.
@@12345678927164 thanks
the slow motion stabbing is hilarious
"Cold steel"
"Cold STEEL"
WHY IS IT PLASTIC!!!!
Try to keep up buddy.
@@DEATH_TO_TYRANTS I'm sorry if I don't think a knife made of plastic is worthwhile. Honestly these guys could market a rock and people would be falling head over heels for it.
@@milliepearl967 Got news for ya buddy, CS ain't the only people making nonmetallic knives and defense tools.. Sometimes you need something light, easy to carry corrosion resistant, weatherproof, non-conductive and MEAN.
The main appeal is that it's light weight and won't set off bells and whistles when going through a metal detector scanners will pick it up though
@@reignick1133 If I was living in a threatening neighbourhood I would personally choose to carry a gun. When you've got a gun it won't matter how well made or light your enemy's knife is, a bullet is a bullet.
CS videos are just getting better
It hurt to see those serrations get ground down.
Good to see that meat not go to waste.
Take care Lynn.
Awesome! Love cold steel! You guys should make a katar Indian push dagger someday!
These are great. Don't get it twisted the de is sharp and will cut you. But the tanto for general flipping so you'll have a safe handle. Great product!
Can’t wait for the XL version. 😆
My good god this video is a JonTron goldmine
You guys need to make an fgx version of all your folders. In particular, the XL Espada would be pretty interesting in fgx! I would buy one or more of each!
i got two fgx balis also i wish you would but secretions on the rest of the fgx knives
Lol I didn’t catch that! I meant serrations .
Can i sharpen the tanto one with a knife sharpener
@ Lynn: Awesome!....But will it come out in "COLD" Steel!?
We NEEED the arc angel balisong back! Sincerepy- the amerucan balisong market.
Thanks Lynn. Please bring the arc angel back! And keep it in stock!!
While I would also like to see a full Aus 10A version at a decent price, I'm looking forward to receiving my FGX Balisong. Should be here this week. :D
1:53 Rather than stabbing Johnny multiple times from the front, you could’ve stabbed him once from behind, because stabbing from behind is always a one-hit KO.
i got mine today, i got the serrated edge and the tanto tip version. they seem like a nice addition to my collection
I love mine. It's a great answer to the no sheath fgx knife. I did remove the serrations because to be honest if I use it in a defensive situation I am just gonna sewing machine stab their ass lol
Nice work
İlk
The balisong are legal in Texas like all knives. Hell you can open carry a claymore if you choose too.
And slipping right through a metal detector 😏
Awesome demonstration. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Lynn and Cold Steel hit it outta the park with the FGX balisong. Got both serrated and tonto version for about 14 bucks each. A steel for such a great product. New to flipping and the tonto is perfect for beginners. Also very well made was able to slice potatoes with ease. Cold Steel is definitely my go to brand for knives and self defense products!
Steal
Listen i am absolutely sold, not on just one but two for sure maybe three. I do have a question though, Have you tried throwing it?
Nice.
why can't you guys just remake the arch angel like EVERYONE wanted instead of this thing
The serrations aren't doing it any favors on the cloth fibers, I'd file mine smooth and reinforce it with some baking soda/CAglue along its spine.
During the summer I prefer less lethal options (as I'm trained in striking points) but as a satisfied owner of both versions of this blade its my go to for winter self-defense. When those heavy jackets come out, a Yawara is less effective.
Only one disagreement.... Hardees? No.... $13 goes a lot farther and healthier at Texas Roadhouse. But I am getting several of these Balisongs! I have several of his Nightshade series pieces and they're all excellent pieces! I buy nothing but Cold Steel! 25 plus year customer here. I'm in for life!
Love cold steel, love my counter point
Love Cold Steel too, love my XL Counterpoint 1.
Amazing... bravi, Cold Steel! :-)
Certain areas make it illegal to sell, but you can buy a tooth brush and sharpen it on concrete and it’s just as lethal and you can get it through metal detectors. So why make these illegal in the first place .
How would you resharpen the Serrations on it .. With fine grit sand paper or something
Would it be possible to make a trainer version so that it’s marketable as a cheap and quality trainer in Europe?
Will there be a steel version? Will the luzon be released in S35vn?
This is for when you don't like the sentence the judge gives you ;)
Do you guys eat the meat afterwards? That looked like a pretty tasty cut. Brisket?
What year of release of tanto version? And this version was first released and what year was it?
I’m not gonna lie, I thought that it was a bad knife because of it being plastic, but damn those tests.
Huh. That's cool, I'll get one in case purge night happens
This rules but who calls it a hamburger sandwich
Mr. Thompson you need to come to Texas and eat a Whataburger
Easily my favourite knife company.
The ol' meat shoe trick...that will stop someone in their tracks.
Lynn, you and your company are fucking awesome!
If i sand the edges on the non-serrated version, will it be a good trainer?
I wish Lynn Thompson was my dad. He’s so awesome.
I think.they should make a more expensive version or 2.0 with better pivots, Milled out plastic instead of injection molded, and a single edge or trainer blade
Edit: hes makein other models
An fgx expandable baton and an fgx point guard knife
Genius!!! Ordered two. Both serrated...
1
plastic works in prison. so I'm not skeptical
If you try to do tricks with that your gonna destroy your hand
I take the knife instead of the meal 😎🤙
I got for 15 in bladehq
NICE
But does it push cut paper?lol jk 😆
Cold steel : please build an expandable baton
Eat your burger fat old man!
How do you sharpen it?
i take the burger sorry mate :'(
I ordered one as soon as I seen it.
What happen to the hamburger?
This, in titanium and S35vn
Y’all ever gonna make a steel one?
The pins aren't metal?
It is very light. does this make it worse for flipping? and also how well will the tanto version cut?
Lol u don't wanna flip that shit
I bought this knife from the cold steel website and I am pleased with how lightweight it is and the serrations and piercing point are supperb. The FGX ballisong is now part of my edc rotation as a secondary blade when carrying as a primary blade one of my 6 inch or 4 inch cold steel knives. Thanks Lynn Thompson for another affordable tool 😎👍
I have the tanto style one
When I ordered I didn't read. I didn't realize twas plastic. I almost considered returning it til I watched this video. I think I'll hold on to it. 💜💚🇺🇸
Somehow it's hard to believe. All FGX test I so for years show quite different results mostly bad exept dart, have FGX Tai Pan home it's arrived chipped, small Chip's not on edge but I use to very high quality of CS and this was real disappointment never use it but he lose small Chip's, very small, but loose even in box on the shelf. Yes it is not expensive for metal knife but for plastic??? For same money you can get Roach belly ,even cheaper and get very nice & beauty knife
