I loved being in the SSA in college like a decade ago. The group motto at the time was "good without God" which I thought had kind of a cool double meaning.
I'm 72, and I grew up in a small town in Nebraska. I didn't know a single other person who was also an atheist all the time I grew up - all through high school, of course, but all through college, too. Well, I know there were other atheists out there. But we had no way to discover each other. So, yeah, I'm glad to see this.
@@mr.d.8121 I don't think so, it only assumes the existence of the concept of God. Real or fake we are good without it. You can say the same of anything else that doesn't exist, like we are good without unicorns or leprechauns, ect.
From Nebraska here, a very red and religious state. This organization would have been amazing to have here in the 90’s, when I was in school. I remember even back then that, if a kid or a teen expressed anything closely resembling that they didn’t believe in God or went too sharply away from “the narrative, they were very much shunned or looked down upon by both fellow students and the parents of those students. Now that politics and religion have become so intertwined and deepened in their bigotry and hatred, an organization like this that allows students to galvanize and be apart of a group of like minded individuals is needed now more than ever.
With all these websites of atheist helping atheist is there a dating site for atheist only I know there's one for Christians ps I've already found the one for me
The only thing I take issue with is the title and word 'secular' It's a word that without religion wouldn't even be necessary. It's a word that only exists because of Christianity. It's like when Christians ask me if you don't follow god you follow the devil. That's another thing created by Christians. I don't believe either is real. So I don't even use titles like atheist or secular to describe myself because it just validates religion. I'm just a person. Religion has zero value to me at all.
@@JohnLA1980 Deuteronony 13: 1-16 The bible fully endorses killing non-believers as well. Most don't do it any more. Not openly, at least. Doesn't mean it isn't considered okay by the faith though.
Non religious doesn't mean "I don't believe in God." Let's hope these non religious, god believing students don't ruin it for the atheist. I used to go to Bible club in Jr high but didn't believe I in god. I just liked being in an AC room with pizza. Lol
This organization is vastly needed.
Children who are born non believers into a believing community need a little support. Thanks.

This organization is the best. Thanks for promoting them, Seth.

'Good without God' does presume of a god's existence.

We never needed Jesus to be good people doing great things together. So glad this is growing and I wish this was an option in my day.
Thank you for posting this video.
We need the SSA now more than ever.
Wow! This is great news! Thanks Seth!
YES!!!! good news!
Magnificent show!
I wish something like this existed in my elementary school back in the '70s.

I do agree with everything they do however! I just wish it wasn't necessary.

Why is their symbol a gay rainbow? Most people are not gay. Has it been taken over?
I've never seen a "gay rainbow" 🤔
Are you not for gay rights?
Yes, and they’re probably in your neighborhood right now to turn you gay too!
