Featured guest and United States Youth Poet Laureate, Amanda Gorman, left the crowd breathless with an extraordinary spoken word piece dedicated to the orphanage.
Mandy Gonzalez, who plays Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton on Broadway, and Chris Jackson, who originated the role of President George Washington, first shared the stage in the original Broadway cast of In The Heights.
For one magical night, everything in the world was perfect.

Founded in 1997, Amigos de Jesús is a home for abandoned, abused and impoverished children in rural Honduras. Located on 200 acres of rural farmland, the property consists of ten homes for children, residences for staff and volunteers, a bilingual school, a chapel and a working farm.

It's like...Benny and Nina go back to Washington Heights years later and all the memories flood back. And they remember it's still home. That's the vibe I'm getting.

Even their voices have changed so much 😭 they sound more mature and can’t hit some of the same notes. They’re still amazing though 🥺❤️

Nina and Benny nowadays, Nina graduated from college and Benny created his business and they live happily together in the barrio

Mandy Gonzalez replaced Renee Elise Goldsberry as Angelica sometime in 2016. In fact I think she’s still playing Angelica on Broadway now.
