Have y'all watched The Last Kingdom? The creepy guy playing Aemond now is in that show also. That is a great show!
Osferth, baby monk
Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra but I'm betting someone told you on Patreon lol.
Give it a day or two you dropping these faster than i can keep up lmao. Let ep 7 marinate a little.
When is "Predators" movie reaction? I hope yall watch "The Outsiders" staring and directed by Jason Bateman and The "Spartacus" series 💡
The actor who plays Viserys, Paddy Considine, said this about Viserys after the episode:
"From the moment she [Aemma] dies, so does Viserys. It was a love story. That's the secret I carried with me. As sick as he gets, he never, himself, demands any cure. He quietly accepts his suffering, never forgiving himself for putting his beloved wife through such torture in her final moments."
Wow. Hadn't heard that. Love it. Never thought about that regarding the cure.
Visery for me is right up there with Ned as the most beloved character of GOT hands down.
@@dsfddsgh i loved all characters tbh. Allicent family love to hate and rhaenyra and damon and the king love to love
@@dsfddsgh And they both died in the 8th episode
He wasn't sick, the throne kept cutting him and it kept getting infected bc they didn't have germ theory
Paddy Considine deserves an award for his performance as King Viserys.
Man's an absolute legend. And the rest of the cast aren't too shabby either. Tried _really_ hard to look for a so-so performance from everyone. Found none.
@@alcor4670 HBO has consistently stellar casting. It's impressive.
Sadly he wasn’t even nominated. It’s such bs
@@kristymcdowell6185 LMFAO becuase the man didn’t do shit compared to the other actors in the tight category. You gonna be transphobic about Emma D’arcy now too? Because they EARNED their nomination ten times over.
@@justbeyondmythoughts wtf are you talking about? Eat a snickers
Lucerys laughed at the roast pig because of the joke they made to Aemond when they were kids giving him the "Pink Dread". Hence Aemond took a dig at the "Strong" boys haha
Man I wish in an alternate universe these kids could’ve just been like regular relatives who grow up together lol because the pranks and jokes are something we all did as kids and all of their jokes were hilarious lol.
@@marleymarsss right and its crazy seeing delusional greens fans really try to justify Aemond's actions because his brother and nephews made a joke about his dragon being a pig when they were all CHILDREN. that's what all kids do when they're joking with each other...
@@iris-xo right like bro that’s not bullying, it was a prank that Aegon clearly put together lol my siblings did the same thing, shit we still do as adults occasionally.
@@iris-xo The showrunner literally confirmed that he was regularly bullied by them
@@iris-xo Looks like we found a show-only. The books it's mentioned that they repeatedly bullied Aemond for not having a dragon.
At the end, King Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra but it was Alicent that received that message from him.
Viserys thought he was describing the dream of Aegon the Conqueror to Rhaenyra. But Alicent heard it and thought it was about Viserys's own dream, the one he told her some episodes ago about putting a baby boy on the throne.
And wearing the Conqueror's Crown.
@@abstractnonsense3253 I didn’t even think about Viserys’ dream before. Great catch!
@@ayeshabjordan Unfortunately it wasn't me who first caught it. But once we get it, it elevates the writing even more.
@@ayeshabjordan it was pretty obvious lol
Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra the night of his death, she asked if he thought the song of ice and fire was real, he wasn’t very lucid, Alicent doesn’t know about the song of ice and fire, she is obviously going to interpret his last words as if he was referring to her son because damn Targaryens can’t help but repeat names haha
No matter what, even if Rheanyra's kids looked like ser Leanors. The Hightowers would usurper the throne from Rheanyra, Otto was always plotting to put his grandson on the throne.
@@yusufraage8554it didn't help that the clan was also putting pressure on him to do so as well. Especially after Alicent became queen.
Aemond is a second son, just like Daemon. Daemon gets him and shares that look with him that is the subtle stuff that makes this show great.
This was no doubt the best episode of the entire series so far. RIP Viserys Targaryen.
Viserys will be greatly missed. (especially by his distant cousins Frieza and Cooler, who admired him for surviving so long while continuously losing body parts)
@@darthken815 agreed
Indeed. But competition is tough between ep 7 and 10
@@Noone91875 10 is one step ahead for me just because of Vermithor
16:16 I think the showrunners confirmed after the season was done that Viserys was suffering from a form of Leprosy. The cuts from the Throne didn't help, but yea it explains why he was looking like a zombie by the end
Yes, even Paddy said that's what it was.
@@lizmagu3189 ok! That’s great to know! It all makes sense now! Thanks for that info! 😊
It was the throne cutting him bc he wasn't worthy, and the cuts got infected. Leprosy doesn't look like that lol
@@pnut3844ableshut up and get educated.
Fun fact about the scene where Daemon picked up Vicerys’ crown: apparently, while the actors where rehearsing, the crown prop really fell off of Paddy Considine’s head and Matt Smith improvised getting it for him. Brilliant.
Matt improvised a few scenes in Doctor Who too. He's so amazing. The crew were such a big fan of him. HoTD crew have also admitted on being huge admirers of Matt's work.
Sort of. He was just going to pick it up just to pick it up but when he actually reached down and grabbed it, the director and several others were like "OHHHHH SHI.... " so they reworked the scene to include that bit and shot it again.
but it also shows what Daemon wanted in all this world - to place the crown onto his brother's head and help him as a cane.
As much as I would love for this to be true, I highly doubt it is. The way the scene was directed and the nice shot of daemon crowning him was all most definitely planned out deliberately.
This is the episode that solidified the idea that Paddy Considine deserved an Emmy. From the walk to the throne to the subtle smile of happiness in the dinner table, he surely deserves it!
Yeah but they didn't nominate Paddy they nominated Emma D Arcy.
@@DragonDreamt HBO submitted both Paddy and Emma for Emmy consideration.
@@batbrick3949 Matt was also nominated as well. Either for an Emmy or Golden Globe
@@DragonDreamt that was about an award voted by fans. It's not Emmys.
At the end it seemed to me that when speaking with Alicent the King truly wasn’t lucid and actually thought he was speaking to Rhaenyra. He was continuing their conversation from before and didn’t realize who he was speaking to.
Nothing to be seemed here, it has been confirmed that this was the case.
32:25 Daemon be like: oh ffs here we go again... "say it"
Aemond: Gotta go!
😂😂
I don't think there could be a better Daemon than Matt Smith! I can't wait to see what next season brings.
Even tho I get where Vaemond was coming from too, Rhaenyra LITERALLY proposed the best peaceful solution that would resolve his concerns. Luke would marry Rhaena who IS of Velaryon blood as the daughter of Laena. So their children would still be of Velaryeon blood and the Velaryeon blood would rule over Driftmark for centuries to come. But it still wasn't enough for him cause "the lineage has to come from male heir" blah blah blah. He was already salty over the fact Rhaenyra was named the heir for the throne, he mentioned it himself in the throne room right to the King's face.
This. He clearly didn't actually give a shit about blood, he wanted the throne
The night and day acting of the actor that plays Aemond and his role as Osferth in Last Kingdom is crazy to me, dudes the nicest guy in Last Kingdom and then 3 years later is playing this psychopath!
Yes!! I keep telling people they need to react to that series cos it's so damn good..
Just a point because I think you misunderstood it, Viserys' dying words were meant to be for Rhaenyra, because earlier she asked him if he thought it was true about Aegon the conquerors dream.
Yeah I wanted to say the same thing. I thought it was pretty obvious
Daemon and Aemond both have the same chaotic energy. They are both so very much alike, only Aemond has much more anger in him from losing his eye, which makes him more impulsive. But even he knew at that moment, trying to fight Daemon would be foolish. He saw Dark Sister in action. He's impulsive, not stupid.
Also, Aemond is an anagram of Daemon. Aemond is what Daemon would become if the darkness overflowed.
@@nikdik154 You're absolutely correct.
@@nikdik154 Aemond is like an alternate path for a choose your adventure book of Daemon. Every time Daemon went left in his life Aemond goes right.
Daemon rebels against his marriage while Aemond arranges his own political marriage.
Daemon breaks things off with his mistress Mysaria while Aemond falls for his.
Daemon abandons his brother while Aemond seems to stick by his brothers side and protect him.
I honestly can't wait for the Battle Above The Gods Eye
@@nikdik154you're highly reaching
The scene when daemon help viserys to the throne is really moved me. And when all the family is happy at the dinner is so warm. We will miss you viserys
Corlys wanted Lucerys to be heir to Driftmark. If you look into Corlys history. You will see that it was ALL Corlys Velaryon that built his house the richest in land. It was Corlys that went out on all those sea voyages, returning with priceless treasures. Vaemond attributed very little to making House Velaryon the success it was. With that regard, his got some balls on him. I say again, Vaemond gave nothing to the success of House Velaryon and it showed. Naming Rhaenyra's kids bastards and calling her a whore all in front of the king. That is a desperate move.
Desperate and suicidal.
He isn't even the real heir. The girls would be before him.
@@d3l3tes00n not really, the girls were daughters of the daughter - so very unlikely to inherit the throne.
True. The Sea Snake was a legend. No man, apart from Aegon the Conqueror, had done so much for his house. Vaemond didn't even believe in the Seige of Stepstones which ultimately gave House Velaryon the control of the Narrow Sea and it's trade routes.
His "I only care for the blood" rant was hollow. Given that Lucerys was to marry Rhaena, it would ultimately be Velaryon blood who would inherit the throne after them. But Vaemond didn't care cos he only wanted power.
@@scientia.veritas indeed true
Def the best episode. The scene where he shows up to save Rhaenyra and then having Daemon help him sit the throne encapsulated a big part of the s1 plot. So epic.
With all the cuts Viserys got from the blades on the iron throne, he fell part because of leprosy. Paddy Considine should win awards for his performance throughout the season.
Leprosy doesn't look like that
Yes, in that final scene Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra. It was as if he was continuing the conversation from the previous night when she came to him to ask if he really thought that the prophecy from Aegon the Conquerer was true, the Song of Ice and Fire. We didn’t see him really give any response to Rhaenyra that night. But if you go back and listen to it, what he says is directly an answer to what she was asking. And of course Alicent doesn’t know anything about that prophecy and heard him muttering something that included the name Aegon. Which she will think that he was talking about their son, not Aegon the Conqueror. When the screen went to black you heard his final words were “My Love.”Interviews with the actor confirmed that he felt that the Viserys would have been thinking about his first wife, Aemma. He said that he thought that the key to the character of Viserys was Aemma’s death in that first episode. She was the love of his life and he never forgave himself for his role in her death. It was definitely one of the reasons that he favored Rhaenyra so much, to the point of even referring to her as his only child in this episode. I really enjoyed the moment of Jace dancing with Helaena at the dinner. It makes me think about how Rhaenyra had proposed having those two get married at one point. And if Alicent would have accepted that it probably would have prevented any future conflict, as both branches of the family would have a child in the important position of king or queen. It might not have been quite as satisfying for the Hightowers. But it still would have meant that their heir would eventually sit on the throne. I appreciated your final comments about Rhaenys. I believe that she was standing vigil over Vaemond’s body. I expect that she would feel a bit of guilt over her role in his death, as it was her acceptance of Lucerys’ claim to Driftmark that totally shot down his own claim. I expect it was the fact that Viserys showed up for Rhaenyra that convinced her to make that declaration and officially accept Rhaenyra’s offers of the betrothals in that very public manner. Rhaenys is very shrewd. I look forward to your reactions to the final two episodes of the season, which are also excellent IMO.
Hi. This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. The scene with Rhaenyra pleading with Viserys for support was great ( Emma D'Arcy is it killing as the older version! ), Paddy Considinecwas epic as Viserys, older version of Aemond is maniacally good. Daemon, bada** as usual, also showed his softer side helping Viserys up the Iron thrones steps after picking up the kings fallen crown and placing it on Visery's head. The ending with Alicent mistakenly taking Visery's the prince that was promised ramblings to mean her son Aegon was also good. Nice reaction as usual.✌
P.S. Hey Anthony, I knew what your shirts saying really means as soon as I saw it, pretty funny !😁
Loved this episode, this is why she married daemon, she knew no one has balls to stand up to him and he will send a message to the greens that if they want to come after her they will have to go through him and he is literally the most dangerous man alive during the dance of the dragon.he is the only one that the greens are concerned about and afraid of. 👑👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
To bad in last episode she forgets why she even married him in the first place (to face greens) but sadly she was burdenizsed with Viserys’s prophecy and made same mistake that he did as king.
Aegon the Elder, Jace and Luke taunted Aemond with the "Pink Dread" (a pig with wings) in lieu of a real dragon back in the 6th episode. That's why Luke sniggered when the pig was set down before Aemond.
Aegon is older than him, Jace the same age but Luke is younger.
Aemond's not quite got over the indignity of being bullied by someone younger than him.
Viserys thinks he's continuing the chat with Rhaenyra about Aegon's prophecy. But Alicent thinks he was telling her that Aegon (the elder) should be King.
(Aegon the Elder is Alicent's kid. Aegon the Younger is Rhaenyra's kid with Daemon.)
In episode 10
Aegon the usurper = 20 years.
Aemond the kinslayer = 17 years
Halaena the dreamer = 18 years
Jacaerys Targaryen = 16 years
Lucerys Velaryon = 14 years
Joffrey Velaryon = 7 years
Aegon III = 4 years
Viserys II = 2 years
Aegon the usrper was a 14 year old, Aemond was 11, and Jace and Luke were 10 and 8.
My disgust for allicent went to new levels after this episode. She would rather have her rapist son be king than rhaenyra's son who is decent human just a bastard. Ugh!!! Despise her!!
Agreed! And it’s so funny watching team green trying to justify Alicent gaslighting, giving veiled threats to and paying off the r*ape victims of her son.
It only took 8 episodes of predicting the king's death multiple times an episode before you got it right! 😂
GRRM himself said that: "your Viserys is better than my Viserys"
I don't get it
If Viserys walking across that room didn't give you chills you weren't paying attention to the show. Great TV
Paddy really deserved an Emmy for this smh! It's my favorite TV performance of the year! The close up of Olivia's face when the servant girl is being forced to drink the Plan B tea. She is such a good actor. What a performance just via the blank dead inside expression. Alicent and Rhanerya on either side with the map of KL between them. Symbolic of the chasm that is about to swallow Westeros whole. Speaking of symbolic, the last supper. That was one of the best iterations of a "calm before the storm" scene. It deserved all the high praise it got. The supper was comparable to peak GoT moments. It's so sad because it is a glimpse of the alternative reality that could've been. It's moving and tragic.
Daemon and Aemond, chaos recognize chaos. I can't fucking wait for the God's Eye in like....4 seasons or something. DAMN IT.
Viserys was kind of a shit king for letting this situation get this bad, but he was an amazing man. Paddy Considine deserves an Emmy!
viserys has a form of leporsy
it seems that either by coincidence or design, they placed the roasted pig in front of aemon. luke started laughing remembering “the pink dread” prank they pulled on him when they were younger.
Daemon's personal motto: "Fuck around and find out..."
That crown moment made me honestly wish that Daemon was Viserys's hand... or Rhaenyra. When he walks up and looks at her my heart
Great reaction again💕 , this episode pulled some heart strings on me especially viserys 😢😭❤ , paddy did a wonderful job at playing him 👏🏾✨ i teared up when he showed out for his baby girl rhaenrya and the dinner scene ❤😢 also idk if you noticed but also really listen out for helaena alicent’s daughter who always speaks in riddles meaning supposedly some Targaryens are known for to have dreams/ visions like viserys who talked about his in the 1st & 3rd episode about having a son and he had aegon which came true another with Helaena in episode 6 she talked about her insect about it can’t see and it will “ have to close an eye” meaning she was referring to Aemond who lost his eye in episode 7 😅 then she said in this episode “ there’s a beast beneath the boards” , to make it easier alicent’s children in order : aegon , helaena , Aemond she also has a fourth son named daeron that I heard of fans say from the books but they never showed him in the show so we might see him next season , rhaenrya’s children in order : jace , Luke , Joffrey , aegon , viserys and the baby that’s in her belly now. And yes aegon is married to his sister helaena which I feel so bad for cause she’s so sweet and interesting 🥺they also have kids together 😅 rhaenys is her name who is the grandmother to rhaena and baela who will be marrying jace and Luke , also viserys thought he was talking to rhae about the prophecy of aegon the first who conquered westeros with his sisterwifes and he had a dream about the north anyways now alicent miss interpreted with thinking that viserys changed his mind and wants their son aegon to be king now lol this is what happens when everyone has almost the same names smh.🤦🏾♀️ 😂😒💀
Omg Jace and Helaena dancing with Viserys looking on is one of the saddest moments knowing what's in store for them. For all of them. It's so beautiful and sad.
loved this episode soooo much!
Viserys' entrance in the throne room and the dinner scene are amongst my favourite Game of thrones moments!!
Vaemond is very dumb, because Rhaenyra also has Velaryon blood through her great-grandfather Old King Jaehaerys Targaryen and her great-grandmother Queen Alyssane Targaryen. The mother of Jaehaerys and Alyssane was Alyssa Velaryon who married the only son of Aegon I The Conqueror Targaryen and Queen Rhaenys Targaryen who was Aenys I Targaryen. The mother of Aegon I and Visenya and Rhaenys was also a Velaryon. Vaemond should have studied the family better instead of making accusations against Rhaenyra and saying that she does not know Velaryon blood when in fact Rhaenyra has Targaryen blood as well as Velaryon blood.
He did think it was Rhaenyra not Alicent. The dagger was shown as it held the prophecy on it.
in my opinion this episode 8 of House of the Dragon is one of the best episodes in TV show history, it's actually a masterpiece
Helaena, Aegon's sister-wife, is a sweet thing and also might be a dragon dreamer. Essentially she's somewhat clairvoyant and possibly prescient (she sees the future or at least glimpses it)
It was such a small moment but I loved when rhaeynes announced the marriage that both girls were happy about it.
The prophecy miscommunication didn't drive the coup. The dinner was a heartfelt gesture where both got carried away in the moment. But it wasn't gonna change the divide over primogeniture. As the show made it clear, plans for the coup were already prepared. The prophecy was simply used by Otto as a propaganda pretext & by Alicent as a self-deluding tool of moral justification. Which goes well with her show character of "hiding behind the cloak of righteousness". It was her trying to convince herself (not others), what she was doing was moral & right. Everyone already knew what was up. It's not that Queen didn't want her son on the throne, she told Rhaenys in no uncertain terms that's what was gonna happen. But she & Otto have two different visions of ruling & to quote what Renly told Ned, "he who holds the king, holds the kingdom".
21:41 The look on his face here absolutely kills me 😂
31:14 he over there sitting like a Sim 😂😂😂😂
I love watching your reactions!!! Thank you for them!
This episode was amazing , Paddy Consadine really knocked it out of the park this one if he does not win the emmy there is no justice at all , the scene where Daemon picks up Viserys crown actually had me tearing up such a moving and powerful scene , All the other actors were fantastic too even the ones who have small roles are truly great in fact I don't think there is a bad performance in this show at all , special mention to Ewan Mitchell as Aemond who is truly scary and intimidating with just giving a look ( the eye patch , hair etc makes him look really bad ass ) really love Eve Best as Raenys too She has some great dialogue and her character is so cool .
The last two episodes really ramp things up and events escalate , can't wait for your reactions as always.
What with this and Andor those two shows were the real highlights of 2022 for me .
You haven't even seen who Paddy is going against. The billed him in the lead roll. That means he is going against Bob Odenkirk in BCS's last season, plus freaking Succession. Bob Odenkirk will be a heavy favorite, and deserves to win
When the king mentioned Aegon he was talking about Aegon the conquerer and the dream he had, not his son Aegon
Aemond said "3 Strong Boys" as in referring to the actual parentage of Rhanerya 3 eldest kids aka they are Harwin Strong's sons. Don't know if that dig registered.
I loved seeing Vaemond getting his head sliced off. Not going to lie I didn't like the scene of Alicent misunderstanding Viserys's last words, like she's smart enough to not listen to the ramblings of a man who was high off milk of the poppy. To me it just gives her a way out as to why she does what she does in episode 9.
The Targaryen grandmother’s name is Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon and the mother of his children: Lady Laena Velaryon and Ser Laenor Velaryon. She is also the grandmother of Prince Daemon and Laena’s daughters Baela and Rhaena Targaryen.
Like condal said in the BTS they did a great job of showing how much the Red Keep and by extension King's Landing has changed under Hightower tutelage. When we started, it was such a lively place bustling with life and color filled with Targaryen erotica, dragon erotica. Now it has the feeling of a stern, austere monastery reflecting the temperament of the queen. It's heartbreaking watching the two trying to futilely make amends with an insurmountable gulf between them. In the show universe they did have a real love and friendship with each other at one time. But the were driven by the men around them. They tried to move away from the precipice. But as fate would have it, it's too late. The poison had already spread. The kids who do not appreciate the history that's gone into this and what's at stake, kicks it off. "To the health of my nephews, each of them handsome, wise and Strong!"
At the beginning, Viserys thought he was talking to Alicent when it was Rhaenyra. Then at the end of the episode, that swapped. He was answering Rhaenyra’s question from earlier about Aegon the Conqueror.
Alicent misunderstands, thinks he’s talking about _their son_ Aegon, and runs with it. 😫
And like someone else said- Aemond got in his feels about Luke laughing about the pig being placed in front of him; a reference to the Pink Dread they “gave” him as a kid. 🐷
One last thing- yalls reaction to Aemond was everything - I swear I said the exact same things 💀 (as well as most people)
He did some ACTING with that one eyeball! 😂😂😂👁️🏴☠️👏🏼
I don’t see anyone in the comments bringing this up so I will.
Listen to what Helaena says! (Sister/Wife of Aegon) She seems to not make sense a lot of the time but everything she says has meaning. At 29:11 you hear her say ‘beware the beast beneath the boards’ which foreshadows future events.
She has also foreshadowed more events, some of which have already happened. For example: when Alicent told Aemond that he will have a dragon one day, she says ‘he’ll have to lose an eye’. Another one that I rarely see mentioned is that she describes one of her bugs as having eyes yet not seeing, when Alicent asks her how that works she simply says ‘it is beyond our understanding’. She is possibly referring to Viserys refusing to see Rhaenyra’s children as illegitimate.
Can't believe that entrance had alot of us chanting emmy oscar something. This whole episode was haunting, beautiful and sad. Loved it
Aemond is Osferth from The Last Kingdom. Baby monk
My favorite episode of the whole season. Paddy did such an amazing job acting. Absolutely ridiculous that he got skipped over for any award nominations for this episode. The guy playing Aemond was in the series The Last Kingdom. He played a monk. If y'all haven't watched that series it would be great to react to. It is AMAZING! Has such great acting and cinematography. I love it more than GOT.
Season 1 sort of serves as a prequel to The Dance of Dragons. The reason for the time jumps is that there Isn't much story to tell until the characters have reached the age they are in this episode.
Aegon married his sister, yes.
Viserys & Damon's mother and father were brother and sister.
Viserys & Damon's grandfather King Jaeharys married his great love his sister, Queen Alysanne. They even eloped before anyone could stop them.
I hope we get to see the rest of Westeros and how the noble houses will deal with this civil war in the next season. I have to give the writers credit, everything from here on out will have more gravity to it because of the world building they did in this season.
The ending is Viserys completing the conversation with Ryhaenrya from earlier where she asks him to defend her & her kids. He thinks he’s taking with her not Allicent.
Viserys thought he was speaking to Rhaenyra
Yes. Aegon is married to his sister Helaena and they have twins, a boy and a girl. Names are Jaehaereys and Jaehaera. They do end up having another son, but I don't know if Maelor is born already by this time. If you remember in the last episode when Aegon is bitching to Aemond about having to marry her.
Remember the flying pig they said was Aemond’s dragon.
Lucery’s laughing set Aemond off. That laugh is disastrous
Funnily enough this is the only episode they open up with the time jump so no spoilers there.
they didn't understand what the pig meant or him calling them strong boys. that was like the best part lol
"is that the wife?" yes.... and his sister lol
Daemon is a prince. Anyone who is closely related to to monarch like a sibling or child is called prince or princess.
Luv yur HOTD reactions!! Gonna be a long wait till next seasons reactions 🥲🥲🥲😁
That improvised moment where Daemon puts the crown on his head had a grown man tearing up.
"I don't like Alicent, she's like Cersei"
"I love Daemon so much, he murdered his first wife to be able to marry his niece"
WOW THAT ENDING!
I don't know if he's nominated or not but Paddy def deserved an emmy for this. It's the strongest small screen performance at least I've seen this year.
I JUST realized... Daemon -> Aemond is the same name with the D moved to the end... And they're both very similar.
Omg you have the coolest haunter beanie.. viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra
Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra, that rainy night rhaenyra went to speak to him and said "if you wish me to bear it then defend me." viserys was out of it and couldn't really respond but then later, after the dinner, he thought he was speaking to Rhaenyra. Both, Rhaenyra and Alicent have sons named Aegon so that's why Alicent thought it was her son but Voiserys meant Rhaenyra's son, Aegon.
Absolutely loved this episode!
That awkward because we all know what happened in the final of the second season of House of the Dragons because Joffrey in Game of Thrones put a spoil of what happened to Rhaenyra in the final season of House of the Dragons she died eat by a Dragon 😅
I cannot WAIT for y’all to watch final episode
is it only who don't find aemond menacingly or scary? he's too trying hard to be a badass lmao
People on their deathbed can get so confused. They can mistake one person for another, and some talk to people who aren't even present (physically). Plus if you add a narcotic on top, such people can become delirious. It's tragic.
So the actor that plays Aemond the one with the eye patch is the Priest from The Last Kingdom Alfred's bastard the one that was with Uhtred
this episode just made me love viserys 100x more, paddy delivered the hell outta his role. props to him he was amazing 🔥
This was my favorite episode of the season. Vaemond claims Rhaenyra's son's have no Velaryon blood but they have it through Rhaenyra. I'll explain how, Aegon the Conqueror's mother was a Velaryon, then the Conqueror's son married a Velaryon and had kids with her which was King Jahaerys and Queen Alyssane who were half Velaryon, so that means Viserys has Velaryon blood also which passes through Rhaenyra's blood onto her son's. Rhaenyra's son's are also related to Laenor, they are 3rd cousin's to Laenor because Rhaenys and Viserys are 1st cousins, which makes Laenor and Rhaenyra 2nd cousin's so her son's are 3rd cousins to Laenor.
36:14 Viserys thought he was talking to his daughter Rhaenyra, continuing the conversation they had before when she went to visit her father in the bedroom.
Viserys thought he was talking to an Ryanaira when he was speaking to Allisent
Cant wait for the next 2 episodes :D
I know y'all are Dr. Who fans. The kid with the long blonde hair playing Aegon in the last couple episodes is David Tenant's son. I was kind of sad to see him gone.
24:00 i don't know how cannon it is that brand inventes the wheelchair.
20:40 - WHY he didn't reconfirm Rheanyra as his heir right then and there! It would be a great boon to her: called the heir hours before King's death.
The viewer always speculate how genuine those toasts were at the dinner. I always say those were the most authentic we've ever seen them because it was the only time they were NOT putting on their masks. It shows that without the line of succession and primogeniture and all the other royal madness mirroring what existed in medieval Europe, these people could've been really good friends. But the system they lived in destined them to murder each other. The dinner sequence makes for so much regret and despair cause it was a tiny window to what could've been. It’s the gossamer’s thread slipping away from their hands. They knew it was the last moments of solitude, but at the same time they probably did briefly delude themselves into thinking "maybe things will work out". They’re all unwitting participants in a tragic theater that’s about to unfold.
I guess they showed the immortal powers that Ser Criston has lol
This man’s laugh is ICONIC 😂
at the end there he thought he was talking to rhaenyra
aemond was pissed at them giggling at dinner bc the roast pig was put in front of him remindingnthem of how they gave him a pig with wings before bc he didnt have a dragon
idk if u missed it or not but when he called them strong thats bc theyre Ser Harwin Strong's bastards with rhaenyra
Viserys was sure he’s speaking with Rhaenyra about the prophecy of Aegon the conqueror during his last moments, and Alicent thought he’s talking with her about their son Aegon
Viserys: I love you all dearly!! Also Viserys: My Only child!! He kept saying let’s get along & proceeded to keep doing everything to make sure that’s impossible. Viserys is the real villain of this show. Viserys knew what Jaehaerys' council would've wanted him to do. He knew having a male son after stubbornly naming his daughter heir would create an impossible situation. He knew his favoritism towards his daughter would naturally fester resentment on the other side of his family. Viserys knew what was gonna happen and kept doing it. He won his own crown that way. People forget he and Daemon were preparing for a civil war because the other claimant Rhaenys was a female. Viserys himself was "elected" king over a female, how hypocritical is it for him to trample on that legacy. Seems like the viewership can't compartmentalize between "loving father" (to one child) from "absolutely terrible king who made one bad decision after another". Viserys was the definition of Nero playing with his Lego set while Rome was burning from the fire he started. Meanwhile, sweet tongue Rhae Rhae practically dragged a lepered corpse out just to have the rightful heir to Driftmark executed. Big "Father. Listen to me. You NEED to sign off these documents in my name RIGHT NOW" hospice bedside energy.
Very interesting. I always called him "terrible King Good Father", but never seen the 'intentional' discord-sower angle of him. I think the show went to some length to flip our perception of Viserys' with Daemon's contrary to how the book may have potrayed them.
ned loved ALL his children equally including jon. he adored that kid like he was his own. viserys married a child bride, forced her to squeeze out four children, only to never acknowledge their existence. Calling Viserys Ned is disrespecting Ned. Vaemond is more like Ned. Died for trying to tell the truth about an underserving bastard.
In the last scene the king thought he was speaking to his daughter. He was continuing the conversation for earlier when Rheynera went to his bedside to ask for help.
He did not get cut by the throne that last time
