I could deal with Charleston, SC or Florida....but still the housing costs...I have probably several million in properties but really can't afford much in either place.
@@dorkladytravels I'm thinking that what i usually do will work with a little time. The increase in rates will come with an increase in defaults on adjustable rate mortgages. I've gotten where I am buying really good deals or foreclosures and putting sweat equity in to make them viable. With cash onhand I might be able to get some good deals in "the cracks' of the housing market like always. I am retiring at this point at 47 with all the properties I already have.
That's a great strategy, and congratulations. I wish I'd kept our first few houses, then I'd be retired too. Alas, you know what they say about hindsight...
If money was not an issue, it has to be California, and I’d pick somewhere around Sacramento (that’s if you like the outdoors). 2-3 hrs any direction you can be skiing world class resorts, hiking the pacific coast trail, seeing amazing redwood forest, great beaches, Death Valley, Yosemite national Park, mild weather, fresh picked fruits and vegetables of every kind, and great access to health care…
I live in Sacramento which isn’t bad, but can’t wait to get out of California. It’s hard though because I am such a weather weenie. I keep coming back to just staying here because you can’t beat the weather. All this talk about Florida sounds so appealing but then when I talk to people who have lived there I’m told about the humidity in the heat and that’s a dealbreaker for me.
@@paranoidandroid6711 Unfortunately, the open borders are turning San Diego into another El Paso. Texas. Newsome wants all the illegals so he can stay in power forever. Or until he goes to meet his Maker. Then, he will find out why you need to be a morally straight person.
I presently live in southern Idaho. We had 25 days this summer when the temperature exceeded 100 degrees with the remainder of the days were in the high 90s. People are moving here in droves and have driven the price of real estate up markedly. Because of the influx of new residents, builders are going wild and building high density housing. This massive amount of construction is causing a constant haze of dust. The schools are suffering because they cannot get teachers and the new students make for large, crowded classes. I am not saying southern Idaho is a bad place to live; it is just bursting at the seams.

I've never seen the world so out of balance. Someday when excess and nonsense no longer reigns over the world I hope to visit some of these places you have showcased. :)
Yes, it's absolutely crazy out there in some ways. But we just came back from a big road trip and the people we met in real life were so nice... I think it's the people online who are a little more crazy.

Planning to move in Florida, New York is still cold now.
I love Florida. Moved here in 2017 and I plan on retiring in the next 5-6 years.

I am in the Bay Area and it is expensive here. I am in Marin County on a budget. Great climate and beautiful scenery.
