I’ve owned mine for almost a year now, and ridden it on everything from poorly maintained flat land country roads, to city roads, and twisty mountain roads, interstates, gravel roads to do a bit of moto camping in the woods, and plenty of out of town weekend destinations, and it handles it all surprisingly well. It doesn’t set the world on fire mind you in “hair on fire” performance, but there really is a definite charm to this bike that becomes ever clearer to you the longer you own and ride the bike, and that causes you to really fall in love with it as it becomes your faithful companion. The handling is outstanding, especially in traversing city traffic and twisties in the mountains. The maintenance is super simple to DIY, and it has nice accessory options available to make it your own. More than anything however are the looks of the bike that causes almost everyone I encounter to appreciate and comment on it which mirrors my own sentiments on it’s handsome lines. It really does end up capturing your heart. Just one owners opinion I suppose, but it hasn’t disappointed me, but rather surprised me on the value for money especially.
@@hectorshouse7348 Red for me too. The Hunter IMO is perfect proportions and 1 of the most beautiful bikes ever built. I was torn last week between Silver Scram and a red Hunter. I chose the Scram as they will be discontinued soon and it suites my location.
Enjoyable video as always. You did start to kinda touch on a sore point for me , no video blogger says....The price is MSRP. Maybe you can do a video just on what to expect to be tagged on to the MSRP and how to judge the fair value. I was faced with an "Admin" cost of $1150....I sure they make money on the "set up" charge...etc. Three years ago, I went in to purchase with cash a Metor 350. The only model RE was selling at the time. I looked over the company and the bike and binged out on RE video. I was shocked that the "Out the door" price was almost double from the $4599, to $7899. Needless to say I wasn't ready to pay that much in cash. Then RE started coming out with new bikes almost monthly it seemed. Happy to say after three years I finally purchases with cash a USED Rebel Blue Hunter 350. As a beginner and a "Senior" rider, is all the bike I need. Thanks again for the video.
I've been riding motorcycles for over 50 years now had all makes and sizes, I currently own a Royal Enfield Interceptor from new back in 2021, Last September I bought a brand new Rebel Red Royal Enfield Hunter 350 for a second bike, It's absolutely superb, I've done my own first service, Fitted a DNA Air Filter, a Powerage Silencer, (which looks like the standard one), fitted a 16 tooth cog conversion, And a fuel X lite system, It runs smooth as a babies botty 👍 Brilliant, In Answer to your question ❓ I like the Guerilla 450 But, It's more money, it'll be more insurance, And it's got Shim's, Which neither of the Hunter or Interceptor have, Making them more user Serviceable 👍 Cheers Paul 👍
I bought mine just over 3 months ago with just 600 miles on the clock. It's now done nearly 4,400 miles and I'm absolutely loving it. The fueling is spot on. The gear box is slick, no false neutrals. It rides and handles much better than i thought it would. The build quality looks good. I'm getting between 92mpg and 105mpg depending on how and where i ride it. It's great fun to ride. And this is coming from someone who's previous bike was a Triumph Street Triple 675 for which i done 45,000 on it before selling it. And you can pick up a 1 year old, low mileage one for as little as £2,500 😊
You sir are a man after my own heart. I came off a Daytona 650 onto a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. 100hp drop in performance and never looked back! Happy days and also a lot safer at 20hp with idiot drivers and potholes etc...
I bought a Hunter secondhand as a test to see if I still loved biking 5 years after I sold my Suzuki Bandit 1200. I did and was then irresistably tempted by the Interceptor. I did intend to sell the Hunter but despite loving everything about the Interceptor, I still enjoy taking the Hunter for a country lane trip. My thinking is now to SORN the Interceptor from November to February and give centre stage to the 350. There is an undeniable charm about the bike well described by Bingley Wheeler about his Classic. Well done Royal Enfield for giving so many options for each engine.
i bought it almost 2 yrs back , ridden some 22000 kms, rides 80kms everyday , hauls 10 kgs of luggage with 2 up , just stiffen the rear 2 points and you will find a very decent, fast and fun motorcycle that is also easy on pocket and great to customize❤❤❤ also that you get 23 nm of torque at the start so even though it is 20 bhp but it can still pickup very fast❤❤
I test rode the guerrilla 450 because I was wanting the hunter and thought the guerrilla would be better. I liked the guerrilla, but not the engine. It was too aggressive, didn't like to plod and made me want to ride too quickly. You might as well buy a Japanese 700/800 twin if you're into that game. It made me want a hunter 350 even more. So I went and bought one. And I'm not disappointed!
Been riding since 13 and I'm now 46. Always a dirt bike rider,, had my go on 100 + hp bikes but never liked that much performance on public tarmac. Now my sights are on the Hunter and the Classic. Rode them both and boy oh boy did I have a blast 😁 I'm keeping my 2008 Tenere though
I love mine. Though new tires, shocks, fork springs, DNA filter and inlet, crash bars and flyscreen have improved it. Great little commuter, easy to maintain yourself. The service interval is actually 6000 miles for oil change, the interim one is basically "Inspect" the tires, oil, chain etc. Though I have my eye on the new Himi 450 . Hitchcocks UK sell a bracket to mount the clock in the middle. Just FYI.
I have a new Bullet 350 and when I took it in for its first service I had the Hunter as a loaner. The handling and performance compared to the Bullet is night and day. So much more peppier and nimble. It would make a belter of a town commuter bike.
Good to see you taking one of these out on test Sean and hearing what you thoughts on it were. I was quite keen when these came out and took one out for a test ride from my local dealer about a year ago but came away feeling rather underwhelmed. The one I tried had less than 100 miles so maybe the engine was still a bit tight but certainly the lack of performance was quite noticeable ( my current bikes are a 1979 Moto Guzzi 1000 Spada and a 2018 Triumph Street Scrambler). I also felt the Huntr was overly "twitchy" handling wise and that I sat very much "on" it. The 17" front wheel exaggerates this I think. Also the suspension seemed under damped and "bouncy". I didn't like the speedo offset to the left, it would be much better in the centre. Otherwise a decent effort but not for me. I can imagine it would make a great city 'bike for commuting etc, but really not what I was expecting. PS your presentation is 100%, another easy to watch no hassle, quality video 👍

Another great video thanks Sean, Out of the RE 350 line up my favourite was always the RE Meteor (in yellow) but I have to say the RE Hunter is growing on me. The RE Hunter you reviewed looks to be a bit of a bargain with all the after market bits. My question to you is, has this bike got enough power or do you think I would be better off with one of the RE 450's?
Thanks William, appreciate the comment. I would still have a Meteor over a Hunter on looks alone and neither is fast really. For me it would be the Guerilla 450 I suppose, I've not ridden it yet so will have to have a go and get back to you. However, on paper, I would pay the extra and go for the 40hp instead of the 20hp bike...
I think the Hunter is probably the most modernised of the Royal Enfield range at the time compared to the Meteor, Classic etc. Seems like they're following that philosophy now with the likes of the new Himalayan, Guerilla, Shotgun etc.
If the Hunter had been available 2 years ago, when I bought my Scram as a daily commuter, I would have been tempted. Coming from years of cruiser riding (previous bike was a Honda Shadow 1100) the lower seat would have won me over. 2 years on, and I am very happy with the Scram and trying not to look at the Guerilla!?
Good bike. I like the offset dial. REs are always a bit heavy for the cc. This is lighter but still 20 kg heavier than my 390 Duke Mk2. It looks better, though. I wouldn't object to owning one. I'd have one over the Guerrilla for the cheaper price as a second bike. Good review. Coincided nicely with the early morning weights. Nick
Totally agree Sean re slow bike fast etc, and love the Hunter, been looking but there are only 2 for sale in my area and are both at nearly new prices, even looked at the red version of your BSA second hand €7000, love the handling of the Hunter with room for improvement and that little bit of better top end performance over my classic, cheers mate …. I suspect when the Guerilla lands in dealers secondhand prices of the Hunter will go the same way of the 411 Himalayan. Perhaps there might be a bargain to be had at some point. My BSA is actually due in for its recall which should address some of the potential issues the model has... I'll document it on here if there is any difference... thanks 👍
For me the Hunter is the one I would have if I were going for 350 and would have one as an addition a very good bike for the money .How short sighted and plane ridicules asking £2,000 for 15min vid you would have been in fact promoting their venue for nothing had they let you in for a short vid crazy and yet you still give them a good mention of course that's the measure of the man you are 😉 . I am looking forward to seeing the new Gorilla in the flesh as this looks to be another good looking bike from Royal Enfield ,one thing I have noticed is that the 350 series seems to have much more comfortable looking seating than the Interceptor .Good one Sean 👌👍

The new Guerilla is going to upset the apple cart, in terms of RE and Triumph's 400. I think the rumours about the 450cc engine were not long after the HNTR came out and I just thought it would be better with that engine considering it's not really a "classic" in the same sense as the other J series. I was hoping for the HNTR450 but now I've seen the Guerilla, yes, I'd opt for that. That being said, should the knock on effect mean the HNTR drops in price significantly, I'd be sorely tempted 😂 but I'm not averse to buying second hand for all the reasons you said about a new bike. The phrase "more fun in a smaller bike" I never believed whilst I was learning on a 125, but now that I'm in a 650 with 72 hp at my right hand, I understand it. I'll never fully use all the power, and as Stuart Fillingham recently said, 40-50 bhp is more than enough and I'm inclined to agree. (Speaking of whom has just revealed his new channel bike 😉) Anyway it's the law to have more than one bike isn't it 😂
Hi Lee, I found I could just about use the 72bhp on my ER6-F, I sold it and bought a Daytona with 115hp, nope definitely couldn't use all that power, even on a track it's too much bike for me 😂. Will be interested to know what you do with the Kawasaki, I think I sold mine too soon and didn't appreciate it enough. Mine was black and low mileage. I got tempted away by 4 cylinders and I guess a twin is such a usable engine in hindsight of course. Oh yes I was chuffed to see Fillinghams new purchase, especially as he said BSA is where RE was in 2019, means he sees big things for them ahead. Let's hope they stabilise and get better for them. Now you've ridden them all! The Hunter has the larger throttle body, or something, if I remember correctly. That paired with the shorter wheelbase and 17" wheels are what make it more peppy, I suppose. I see Stuart Fillingham has purchased himself a BSA. I'm curious to see if that will have an impact on sales. I think he was in the right place at the right time with the Enfield, but he certainly was a huge player in spreading the word about those bikes at the time.
One 350 to rule them all! 😂. I'm waiting patiently for BSA to make a move too, let's see what happens and Motorcycle live this year in November. Oh and I'm very happy to see Stuart Fillingham buying a BSA, he's got a big following of exactly the right type of customers for BSA, let's hope it improves things for the brand going forward. As an owner its in my interest for them not to fail. They've had a rough time to be honest, but the recent price cut to £4999 has probably helped things. It was interesting he said that he views BSA as a Royal Enfield in 2019 when they were thought of poorly and now look at them... the message was clear to me, he's betting on BSA!

I agree with that Rob, Hunter wants to plod/bimble whatever you call it you get off a RE 350 relaxed, same as a BSA 650 in my opinion...

There is a touring seat for Interceptor that really improves seat. I don't why they put such a poor seat on the Interceptor.
Engine is a stressed member on the other 350's too,footrests on those are on a bolt on section of tube. Great video!

Super. Nice review, I looked at buying the RE 350’s but nearest dealer is 3 1/2 + hrs away, add that for each service. In the end got the knock off. HondaGB350. Both good bikes and the same price here in Australia $7,900 walk out the door no more to pay. Except the GB is made in Japan and not India.

I notice you have a habit of cancelling the indicators that aren't even on. They don't switch themselves on.
And a great habit it is too! No one wants to be heading down a main road approaching a side junction on the left hand side with indicator left on by mistake 😉

I had to look in the comments to find out what all the left thumb action was. Quite distracting in a really well presented review.
I also often do this, check the indicators are off. Maybe it’s anal, but I’d rather be safe.

To cancel the indicators 😉. Watch the channel a bit more 👍
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Cancelling the indicators is only necessary after indicating, unless something is faulty with the indicator switch. You pressed it five times within 20 seconds at the start of your ride, that's why i asked. Nice review by the way 😃
Hntr reminds me of triumph 250 trailblazer/bsa starfire from 60's. They were excellent to.

Now you've ridden them all! The Hunter has the larger throttle body, or something, if I remember correctly. That paired with the shorter wheelbase and 17" wheels are what make it more peppy, I suppose. I see Stuart Fillingham has purchased himself a BSA. I'm curious to see if that will have an impact on sales. I think he was in the right place at the right time with the Enfield, but he certainly was a huge player in spreading the word about those bikes at the time.
One 350 to rule them all! 😂. I'm waiting patiently for BSA to make a move too, let's see what happens and Motorcycle live this year in November. Oh and I'm very happy to see Stuart Fillingham buying a BSA, he's got a big following of exactly the right type of customers for BSA, let's hope it improves things for the brand going forward. As an owner its in my interest for them not to fail. They've had a rough time to be honest, but the recent price cut to £4999 has probably helped things. It was interesting he said that he views BSA as a Royal Enfield in 2019 when they were thought of poorly and now look at them... the message was clear to me, he's betting on BSA!
Agree. The bsa was too expensive on release. Add to mix the new triumph 400 and RE guerilla, bsa had to get competitive. Which they have.
Nice review of the bike but what the hell are you doing with the indicators? on off on off no upcoming junctions or oncoming traffic. Took nearly all my attention rather than listening to the review. Sorry maybe it's me??
