  • Note- this video ended abruptly when I hit "off" instead of "zoom", therefore PART 2 of this is continued under the title "Using Crayola Watercolours and brushes... " video from Jan 15th.
In this video, I highlight a recently published oracle deck by artist, Kim Dills, "Souls Seeking Seed". This deck has 42 cards of Kims original art and words illustrated on each. The cards come shrink wrapped in a beautiful artist designed flip box with magnetic closure. She also created and wrote a comprehensive guidebook with corresponding card numbers. I adore this deck it and would make a wonderful gift. You can purchase the deck on Kims website www.kdills.com/.

    kim.dills@instagram.com
I also pull one card from my own "Art Poetry for Insights and Inspiration" 71 card oracle deck. Also available to purchase worldwide at www.allisondaw...
I do a quick review of my mini completed artworks that I had shared about in my most recent video. Both the 3.5 x 2.1" precut cards, and metal tins (come in bulk), I'd found on Amazon Canada.
I finish the video with a brief flip through of an art book called "Art is Art" Collaborating with neurodiverse artists at creativity explored, edited by Anne Kappes. I'd purchased it in store at Indigo/Chapter's Canada. It is available in many bookstores and online.

Oh Allison, I couldn’t wait to see you work with the Crayola paints, and you got cut off! I hope you will pick up from here in a video for tomorrow. I love watching you paint, that’s my favorite part. But I also love your conversation and how much of yourself you share. I have learned so much from you. I put the”Art is Art” Book in my Amazon cart, and I’m trying to find the cards and metal boxes like you got with the windows in them. Almost like looking for a needle in a haystack. Bless you for sharing so much. Could you post the brands of the cards and boxes for us?❤

Thanks so much Deborah. Did you end up finding the tins or precut cards ? I will post more info here shortly! And I'll follow up with my Crayola's soon! thanks for such encouragement.

I love the art journal featured here. The cover and the tiered pages are so interesting. I was aware you could gesso pages to use with acrylic paint but wasn't sure how one would prep pages to use watercolour on them, so thank you for talking about the watercolour ground. The paintings you created on them are so beautiful. 💗

I really appreciate your natural honesty, keep being yourself -it’s lovely and refreshing. I love your little art cards - very inspiring and colourful. I’m enjoying my Art Poetry cards from you. They sit on my desk and I pull one every day. Sometimes I just look at them for inspiration.

I am from Minnesota. I am very familiar with the Polar Vortex and the temperatures that go with that. I live in Pennsylvania, USA and I still wear my long underwear. Stay warm. Do what you can to fight the cabin fever. I love your art work and your process.Beautiful card deck you shared. I love toads, insects and the animals on these cards. The animal cards remind me of indian animal totems.I love how she pairs up plants with animals. Stay safe and warm.

    No regrets. 😊
I love that you introduced me to Kim Dills. Another artist working with paintings and wood. I can see why you connected so well.
I also suffer from chronic illness for a little over 2 years following a head injury, post concussive syndrome, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.
Dignity is a very important subject to most of us suffering ill health, such an accurate pairing with the healing properties of echinacea. It was nice to hear your thoughts on the little improvements we can make. 💚💛🩷
Small steps has been a go to word for me over the past few months. Too much of one thing is never good but with small steps we're able to manage balanced incrimental adjustments and improvements.
I wish my finances were in better order, i would love to purchase your art deck and now seeing Kims as well. They are such inspirational pieces of artwork. Hopefully 2024 will prove to be a better year of personal abundance for myself and I will rectify this for myself. At the moment I'm just focusing on gathering art materials to explore creatively, the reason I watch both you and Denise Love.
Without realising, you are a mentor. Thank you 🌟

Love your videos. Like your comment from when you were working and asking the patient, what is just one thing you could do to improve your health? I thought about that and I think I’m going to make a conscious effort to try that in my life. It is a boost for oneself to just start with small steps. A persons work influences their art and their art can reflect their work experiences etc. Its all part of being a whole person. So I loved that you shared your work. Your oracle deck words show feelings along with your creativity. Keep doing what you do. 💕

I often visit your pages to relax. Thank you for sharing to everyone. I am just a beginner and I know most people can look at your watercolor cubes and know who makes them. I hope to get to that point, LOL. What watercolors did you use on your very first card with all the golds. Im so in love.

    • @allisondawrant
      @allisondawrant  7 місяців тому

oh dear! It was a mix and not sure I recall all of the golds. Many are marks from my gold acrylic paint pens - one is definitely by Sakura , “pen touch” gold, Japanese ? oil based paint pen… I used a gold watercolour from Stoneground paint co… and maybe Kuretake gansi gold. hope that helps!
