I like how that intro felt like I was about to watch a show. You somehow made taking notes exciting. I hope to finally not take as many notes in the future. Thank you for the advice.
I totally agree with separating mind and hand! Sometimes I feel like I'm focusing too much on organization than just actually getting the content down! And when I notice that happening it's usually me trying to figure out what to call a section so I just skip a line and start taking notes! You can always go back and find a title! I also love colors but sometimes it's overwhelming in lecture so I like to have a set system and then during class breaks or when the lecture slows down I'll go back and highlight!
Kiara, I don't know how you do things so flawlessly. You are ssooooo pretty and I LOVE how organized you are. Ps, I LOVE your dorm room. Hope your channel reaches 10 million subs next year. Also, you are the first and only person I am subscribed to. I only watch your videos, everyday. I LOVE YOU! : )
Hey I just started watching your videos recently and I love how you incorporate a lot of college tips and advise because it is SO HELPFUL. I am going to be graduating high school soon and your videos make me feel less scared going into college😂 Loved this video and definitely will be trying to use these tips to help me!
I remember feeling the exact same way! There is something so calming about watching college videos and knowing what to expect! Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)
One thing I like to do is print my teacher slides out! I’m the slowest writer in the world so it’s nice to have the info printed and then I add my own notes on the side, and when I get home I rewrite my notes and organize them to make sure that I have the information it’s really helps when teacher post slides ahead of time.
actually rewriting notes does help you memorize and interpret the information more because whenever you write it in your own handwriting it creates a muscle memory of it
I just want to say you're truly one of the best UA-camrs out there rn and your channel has been super helpful for me to navigate my college selection journey! I'm about to commit to UO as an art history major for next year and showing us your life at UO has really helped me figure out that it's the school I'm meant to go to! Could you consider doing more "day in the life" vlogs on days that you have class or any sorority events? :)
Allison Lumsden ahh thanks so much Allison!! I love readying comments like this! Congrats on your commitment to UO and yes more vlogs will be coming soon 💚💛
I've always had problems taking notes, especially when I am writing it. So, I've always used my laptop, however, this proved a problem when it came to my finals because I have become so used to typing and I've always been a slow writer. And the fact that I am a Law student does not help since our exams consist of four written essay or legal opinion per legal course. You TOTALLY saved my ass with this killer video!
Me too! Haha I wast sitting in class one day and I just have so many ideas pop into my head so I wrote them down and this video was finally born haha. Thanks so much for watching!
Great question! I use the paper-mate highlighters and pencils! I love the way they write and that fact that they don't go through the page! I think I show them in my school supplies you need for college video :)
how do you organize lecture notes and your own notes? i always feel like topics end up all over the place because i’ll write about one thing from a book but by the time the teacher gets to it, it’s pages later. do you leave pages open for adding class notes so they stay with your own notes on the same subject?
i know you said you often wrote professors notes in advance but that’s not always an option, and i sometimes find that i want to add comments from lectures to my own notes but don’t have room to do so
Your note skills are so much better then mine lol. I'm kicking myself in the butt for it too. This week at U of O I have two exams, a japanese oral performance, and a japanese exam friday. Midterms are officially here lol Also still can't believe I haven't found you on campus yet! LOL
Oh man you are a busy girl rn!! I have a midterm today and a big on on Friday! Hang in there we are half way to spring break!! Hope I can run into you on campus soon!
I like rewriting my notes too but what you said was true. It's time wasting but it's affective. You look so pretty kiara. Thanx for the tips.. love you!! 😍😘
I always try to re-write them in a new way to force me to actually think about what I am re-writing! Doing it that way is definitely not a waste of time! Thanks so much for watching :)
I go to a school where they don't believe in test, so I'm super scared for college and actually didn't do the SAT/ACT cause I was so scared. Can you help?
Getting used to tests will be something very different to get used to. Don't be discouraged; put the effort in and you will see results eventually. The biggest thing I would recommend is to get a test taking book at the library or bookstore or even take a testing strategy class that can teach you not to overthink and read the questions effectively. Do a TON of practice tests and problems too! Kahn Academy is so helpful and after every unit they have mini quizzes and tests so I recommend doing those this summer to get you used to reading and responding to questions! Best of luck and thanks for watching :)
Do you read chapters in one day or break them apart to multiple days? I'm sure yours are just as thick as my science chapters so what do u find is best when reading the chapters to not get overwhelmed. Do you read it more then once?
I wish I could say I ready a chapter a day but it's not realistic, I just break it into two big chunks of reading :) And I read it once but take notes on what I read!
Caja for most people, you process the information better when you're writing it instead of typing it on your computer. And you can also organize it in whatever way you want, you can add some color which is more fun..
Studies show that people who hand write their notes are able to recall them and absorb information faster & it's just something I have always done bc I'm a slow typer :)
Don't give up and talk to your teacher about ways to improve and find out exactly what you're doing wrong in terms of writing style/studying. If your class is mostly paper based I would get an honest friend or your parent to proofread and give you critiques! Hang in there! I'm always surprised at the amazing comebacks people make in their classes :)
I like rewriting notes because they actually help with memorization, my teacher said it’s called meta cognition 🧐
Samantha Ramirez yeah I love to re-organize and rewrite my notes too! Helps so much!! ☺️
Kiara Madisen you said don’t rewrite notes tho
@@jenluvxx5492 in the video she said that she reorganizes her notes. .. that's basically re writing them
I like how that intro felt like I was about to watch a show. You somehow made taking notes exciting. I hope to finally not take as many notes in the future. Thank you for the advice.
Thanks so much for watching and leaving me this awesome comment! Glad you found this video helpful :)

That sounds like such an awesome system!! Thanks so much for sharing what works for you!

I do that for certain classes too! So helpful! Thanks so much for sharing and watching
actually rewriting notes does help you memorize and interpret the information more because whenever you write it in your own handwriting it creates a muscle memory of it
I agree but if you reorganize the info instead of just copying it word for word it works way better :)
thank you for this video! I love the idea of re-organizating vs. re-writing I've never thought of that and I think it would help me!!
It helps so much!! Thanks so much for watching Emily! Hope your school year is going well :)

More study videos please
You got it
Night routine please!!!!
Yes! That's coming soon so stay tuned!
Can you (or someone else) further explain number 1? That's kind of confusing
Basically just learning to multitask and listen to the lecture while simultaneously writing down what's on the slide.
I couldn´t stop watching your chocker moving
Aylu now that’s all I can see 🤦🏽♀️
Ooh
sarahmations way to be the first comment! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks! Your video was really great, and I can't wait for the next one!!
🤗💕
Stephanie 😘❤️
not me watching this attempting to pass Bio 212
I believe in you girl! Do as many practice questions as you can find!
Do you read chapters in one day or break them apart to multiple days? I'm sure yours are just as thick as my science chapters so what do u find is best when reading the chapters to not get overwhelmed. Do you read it more then once?
I wish I could say I ready a chapter a day but it's not realistic, I just break it into two big chunks of reading :) And I read it once but take notes on what I read!
my phone is broken (I broke it) and every thing is SOLOW. Luckily I am getting a new one
Your advice are very usefull but toi speak too fast for me 😂
Opps sorry! I'll try to slow down next time :) Or you can play the youtube video in a slower speed lol just an idea ;)
Why don’t you just take notes on your computer? It’a a lot faster 😊
Caja I choose to use my computer to take notes,And I am more willing to read it again,so just choose the way that makes yourself feel comfortable 😁
Marry me !?!?
lol
hello hello, do you know what to do if you have a 65 in reading? giVE mE sOmE adViCe!!
