This brings back a memory from my first experience with FF7 the original. You escape down the motorway. You fight the boss. You defeat it. You step outside Midgar, then and only then do you realise that Midgar was just the beginning. There's much more to come.
it's summer 1997... The world is bigger than i thought, stories can be played with the new playstation that my brother bought me for my birthday. Thing is, i'm Italian, i'm 6 years old and games are made in English. Even more, FF has slang in it. But that music, that visual, i really wanted to understand it, i really felt the sadness throught the music. But again, Italian 6yo kid, all i had was a dictionary, and with that i started learning english just to be able to play the game. It's been such a boost for my culture... I own that game the person i've become today. Still love games, 23 years later, i'm still super curious about the world, the stories, different languages... i've learnt a lot, achieved a lot too, still learning because once you start, you'll never stop. Those times are gone, but i remember them strongly when i listen to this piano collection...
@Antonio Gallo esatto ahhaha io lo giocati quando avevo. Solo 8 anni, le lacrime finito il primo CD... 😭, ora 25 e rigiocarlo così mi si scioglie il cuore molto bello il remake
I was born in 84 and I got Final Fantasy IV for Christmas from "Santa". Little did I know it would be one of my favorite RPG games to play and years later getting FF VII. Most of the Final Fantasy soundtracks have been awesome! The music is haunting in a good way... whenever I hear these tunes it takes me back. I play the piano so I've been going back to the Final Fantasy Piano Collections trying to learn the songs! Thanks for sharing!

it reminds me of the cloud. a little bit of hope at first, but despair in the middle, and the harmony of it all. and a song that reminds me of the cluod
I’ve played this game by pure chance. I bought a second hand ps4, and the game came with it. I decided to give it a chance, and it completely won my heart over. I loved it. It’s one of the best games I ever played. I can’t wait to play part 2. I absolutely fell madly in love with the story, the characters, the music, everything about it. Videogames ARE the eight art, and this game is proof. Absolute masterpiece.
Back in the 90’s I was still a young boy and was not able to afford the PlayStation or the game so my friend lend it to me for a few weeks. It was a game that arguably changed my life and my outlook in life and introduced me to the work of Nobuo Uematsu. The music and the pre-rendered background brought me into the game, as if I was there with the characters. So when I hear these songs the emotions of the old days come surging back, like…you feel so happy you could die.
Once the song started, I can't help but tear up. God, I may not remember much of my childhood, but I will always be grateful for the influences I had as a kid.
Been a fan since the early 1990s beautiful, ground breaking, a propper introduction into RPGs that has style and is accompanied with this beautiful accomplished soundtrack....timeless
I had this whole soundtrack on a couple of MiniDiscs. I was world building this entire game in my mind before I even got it, and it was my first RPG(1997 Playstation). Not very far into the remake, I like it a lot, I wish I could return to midgar once undiscovered by a school going me.
I learned this song ~10 years ago and I’m just now seeing some hand positions that could totally help with the worst parts I deal with when I play! Thank you for this! Great job
I’m actually a younger fan who just fell I love with fandom the game even though I haven’t played the game but I grew up watching my older brother play and watched the movie when I was younger. Anyways, lemme get to the real part of what I’m saying, I really love this. Brought me to tears, dang it.... Same thing goes for Tifa and Aerith’s theme.

Oh nostalgia. Bringing me back to 1997. For some reason a video game was the best thing that happened that year. The rest of my life was shit at the time, but I had that game. I don't even play video games anymore. I got nothing to hide from anymore. Still, I love the memories of that time. My early teens. Oh well, I turn 40 in 4 years, can't dwell on the past. Got things to do in the future.
Mendengar masterpiece ini, kadang aku pengen mencoba game ini di zamannya... belum pernah main aja perasaan "nostalgia" nya udah dapet, apalagi kalo seandainya dulu pernah merasakan bermain game ini, beh nostalgianya dapet banget pasti sampe nangis terharu 🥲
This is from the Final Fantasy VII piano collections, which has been out for over 10 years. There's a full album for each of the main games, and VII's includes Tifa's Theme and Aerith's Theme for those of you who want more of this. :)
Videos and covers like yours always made me kind of jealous. So I sat down the next moment, trying to master a song like this, really trying to become as good as you. This motivation never lasted long, so I failed over and over again. I never finished what I started. Few years later I realized, how negative the consistency of my motivation was. How bad and sad the feelings were, which conquered my willpower, blocking a constant progress... And today, 10 years later, I'm listening to your music... full of happiness, love and joy... now I can... now I can leave this wonderful work to you, be happy for you, appreciate what you've learned and mastered, and simply enjoy what I hear... As it was my own... Awesome sound dude!!! You are hitting more feelings than keys, that's for sure!!!
to this day, this song brings so many happy memories playing the original. It's like my mind was born anew. Who I was before 1997 no longer existed. From 1997-Present I am still that same person on that floor back at my original home with eyes filled of emotion caring for polygon characters. Anyways, my favorite rendition of Final Fantasy Main Theme comes from the end credits scene in FF9. Where it transitioned from Melodies of Life. It was such an amazing transition to the main theme, that I always get chills.

I’m in 6th grade on the black top and my friend keeps gushing about some game he’s been playing. I’ve never heard of it. He says something about a guy named “Sefirooth”. I can hear him but I don’t understand what he’s talking about. We continue to play handball and it fades from memory. Some months later, I’m in Barnes and Noble with my brother and grandmother and I’m less interested in the selection of books as I am the few video games they have, one of which is Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation. The cover catches my eye. I pick it up read the back. It feels familiar. I’ve heard about this game but I can’t figure out where. We ask grandma if she’ll buy it for us and of course she does because she’s grandma. I take it home and start playing and I’m instantly hooked. I still can’t out my finger on where I know this game from. At least until we get to the Shinra tower and it all comes back. Sefirooth. OOOH. SEPHIROTH. My mind was blown. I started connecting dots. Along time ago I used to love final fantasy 15 but now i think about how beautiful this final fantasy 7 piano is and i love final fantasy piano so much ❤❤❤
So beautifully played AtinPiano! I've watched this so many times and your piano cover just fills me with such emotion, happiness and nostalgia each time. This specific piano cover of yours inspired me to make my own channel and play this cover as it is so beautiful. I really hope I can help others relive their special memories like you did for me! 10/10!
Such an obscure ending, I came here to hear a relaxing classic and now I'm genuinely a little scared. I've never played this game, but this tune is still managing to make me wonder what type of story this title can have, what mysteries lie ahead..
you get it right! the story is pretty obscure. It starts with hope, but then the protagonist loose himself, his identity, everything, he lost himself. Also the loss of death and murder of his best friend and his/friend-cush/love. The story is a masterpiece
This is absolutely spectacular, it makes me want to cry! Your talent, your work, your art, is AMAZING. You play this piece with such passion, I can't help but feel warm inside. Ff7 is my favourite ❤️ thank you for uploading this!!!
They should make a piano teaching game like this just how they did with guitars with Rock Smith. I would so love to learn and play this wonderful piece.
Thanks for this video. I'm using it as refence for fingers positions. I'm busy learning this piece and it's a bit slow going. I'm busy doing grade 4 piano so this is probably a bit ahead of my skill level, but I just love this piece and want to be able to play it.
Hitting the D# & E with the same finger at 0:48.... 🤯 This is the piece that inspired me to start learning piano. And while I was making OK progress at the start, those tetrad chords stopped me in my tracks. Watching you play is INCREDIBLY helpful! Thank you SO much! Could I ask for an upload of Ahead On Our Way as well?
I’ve never played the game, don’t know much about it, but this song always makes me cry. There’s a sense of wonder, and courage to it.
you should play it..
Play the old game first.. then play remake.. then u get different story &experience... 🤗
It’s the game as a song which is why Nobuo is such a genius.
Please play it. I'd consider this a "must complete before you die" game. The story, the characters, the music... It's a straight up masterpiece. The story alone is just amazing.

"If this is all a dream, don't wake me up."

Damn man. I have been studying a lot of Bach and Debussy recently, and I have to say, I truly believe Uematsu is the greatest living composer.
I'd put Yoko Shimomura up there with him.
not fair! Bach and Debussy both dead
Definitely up there with the likes of John Williams.
It’s between him and Hans Zimmer for me, but I think Uematsu edges it.

Probably my favorite piece of music of all time.
I know it's just nostalgia, but I wish I could experience this for the first time all over again.
i can't help get mixed feelings for this theme... beautiful, sad and equally depressing when you play the game 😭😭 absolutely a great master piece...i can't stop being hurt listening to this and yet addicted listening to these piece...
Along time ago I used to love final fantasy 15 but now i think about how beautiful this final fantasy 7 piano is and i love final fantasy piano so much ❤❤❤

Memories of past and present. Final fantasy was, is and always be a part of me.
This goes with the whole game in a short song. I go through the game in my mind when I listen to this. Wonderful
I can't be the only one who instantly cried when I heard this theme
I used to play Final Fantasy the First Solider {A battle Royal} every day after school for three years, and I would just here this, i miss it
So beautifully played AtinPiano! I've watched this so many times and your piano cover just fills me with such emotion, happiness and nostalgia each time. This specific piano cover of yours inspired me to make my own channel and play this cover as it is so beautiful. I really hope I can help others relive their special memories like you did for me! 10/10!
Beautiful song. Another victory for gaming. This game still blows my mind at how good it is
I love this music so much very much.
Those sound made me again to feel of Chilhood, teenhood, hopeful, loveful in the old days.
Such an obscure ending, I came here to hear a relaxing classic and now I'm genuinely a little scared. I've never played this game, but this tune is still managing to make me wonder what type of story this title can have, what mysteries lie ahead..
Play this at twice the speed it’s cool
you get it right! the story is pretty obscure. It starts with hope, but then the protagonist loose himself, his identity, everything, he lost himself. Also the loss of death and murder of his best friend and his/friend-cush/love. The story is a masterpiece
Careful now... Wich lies ahead does not yet exist.
Going to sleep to this after a hard day of construction. Thanks man.
This has just taken me approx 5 months to learn. Thanks for your video. It's taken a lot of rewinds and 0.25 playback to finally get there.
If you're thinking of learning to play this song, do it. It's so satisfying.
“Reunion..” FF7 remake brought me back here. Amazing upload.
This is absolutely spectacular, it makes me want to cry! Your talent, your work, your art, is AMAZING. You play this piece with such passion, I can't help but feel warm inside. Ff7 is my favourite ❤️ thank you for uploading this!!!
I love hearing this on the map on the original.
When will we see a cover of the prelude? The remake they made is beautiful too!
That was a beautiful rendition of a truly fantastic piece of art. Thank you
They should make a piano teaching game like this just how they did with guitars with Rock Smith. I would so love to learn and play this wonderful piece.
This is one of those songs where I just start crying for no reason
Watched some scenes in 2018 and finally got to play it in 2024. And im loving it
Always love watching your FF performances
Thanks Lucas!
This is one of the most relaxing things I've watched in a very long time!
1:20 starts from here, goosebumps.
True
This music is a journey Full of conflict. Trully amazing.
Final fantasy 7 is my lifetime favourite.
Thanks for this video. I'm using it as refence for fingers positions.
I'm busy learning this piece and it's a bit slow going.
I'm busy doing grade 4 piano so this is probably a bit ahead of my skill level, but I just love this piece and want to be able to play it.
I dont know how to tell my feeling. It complicated. Such a beautiful masterpiece
Omg YESS. Please do more Final Fantasy maaan!!
Thank you. This theme always reminds me of Zack and what he stood for.
I learned this piece by just watching this! Thank you!
Hitting the D# & E with the same finger at 0:48.... 🤯
This is the piece that inspired me to start learning piano. And while I was making OK progress at the start, those tetrad chords stopped me in my tracks. Watching you play is INCREDIBLY helpful! Thank you SO much!
Could I ask for an upload of Ahead On Our Way as well?
Well done. This never gets old and brings back so many good memories with this game. I beat the crap out of it lol
