Any tips on making a CBS? Now than Rpg Maker 2003 is back on Steam I'm thinking of downloading it again to make a game, but I hate the default look of battles.
I randomly found this Video and it looks great. Is the game completed by now? Nice Mapping, Edited Charsets, extra Stuff in Battle and Tales of Battlers👍 Where can i get it?
That is actually Colette's battle sprite, I really do wish I could draw my own, but it would seem impossible for me, or having to pay a pretty good amount for an art commission. But it is fine, as long as the game is not for commercial use which it's not :)
Copying a famouse character is still being a duch bag. It´s not that sprite I see more and more stuff which you´ve copied. -.- (like Alfard) Is that a Baten Kaitos-Tales of Symphonia Mech-Up thing? When are Squall and Link are coming? Or Hyrule City?
For the battle sprites, I understand that some people will not like it. It was a heavy design choice, plus being limited to what I can do, custom battle sprites was simply out of question for me. Sorry if that hurts you, but, it's not like I'm trying to market and sell this game. I like your sarcasm though, made me chuckle.
how to make work correctly?, i downloaded and the letters is so wierd and the game is slow too!, in the read me you say: at least 1ghz and i have 1.48ghz...PLEASE ANSWER ME, YOUR GAME IS AWESOME
If I remember correctly, you have to reinstall the RTP package of the RPG-Maker 2k3 for Windows to recognise the font type. I had the same problem when I started making a game years ago. Had to reinstall my win and then just copied the whole maker folder on my new system and the writing in the game was weird when I tested the build. Then I reinstalled the maker and RTP and only copied the game folder with my old work into the new folder and the letters were clear and readable again. Newer versions of the maker don't have that problem, but they also can't use all the cool user created resources(some recreated from(or straight up ripped out of) old NES and SNES games).
@@TriangleSmooth thanks a lot, I appreciate it! Yeah it's true, I don't knock any game using other assets unless they're trying to make money off of it. This game is just a huge love letter to JRPGS
@@amirabdullah3160 Yea, as long as you're not trying to make money off of your game, does it really matter what resources you use? I think it's a common consensus that all's fair when it comes to non-commercial RPG Maker usage. The only thing we're really trying to do is tell a story while simultaneously making it entertaining for the player. Great game btw.
Holy crap, this is epic. I swear, most RPG Maker 2003 games look way better than later RPG Makers.
he just stole the character animations out of Tales games. nothing epic at all.
Hey what about the music
how did you put a life bar???
Man this blows me away. The thing that impresses me most is the animated feel of the monster; how did you manage something like that?
I just love what I see and really hope Lakria Legends gets ported to Playstation.

this game looks really good
TALES OF SERIES' SPRITES!!
Damn! Is cool! I have RPG maker 2003 but I don’t know how to make cutscenes still
Thank you, once you get the hang of using pictures and and some effects, you can definitely pull things like this off!
@@amirabdullah3160 I have a Burning question though, How do you make custom UI for RM2k3?

Yes It's complete
This looks pretty great! The battle sprite of the lady looks a lot like Colette Brunel though. Even her choice of weapon is similar~

I usually sprite tons of characters, I'm nto sure if you'll be willing to check me out though. If your interested let me know :D
I would definitely love to see any work you'd have to show me :) I'm always open for that idea as well!

The main character looks like Reid Hershel from Tales of Eternia.
It is the same graphic as that character
@@amirabdullah3160 I knew I could recognize him. I played Tales of Eternia forward and backward like it's crack.
This has right written all over it.
Right as in good? Or do you mean copyright? Lol
@@amirabdullah3160 lol Right as in good. We all used ripped off graphics back in the day. But this programing was top tier.

this Lava BGS... i guess its from Zelda OoT? :P
It actually does sound very similar to the lava, it could be but I'm not sure, I got the sound effect from a free sound website
