- Waylon live in Johnson City, TN 1990
This is a rare early live version of him doing the great song "Where Corn Don't Grow", later a hit by Travis Tritt.
When I'm taking my last breath I hope it's a waylon tune.. rip,
💯 ❤
There will never be another Waylon...
Watching this video takes me back to 1986 in Sask. I privileged to open for Waylon and a few others. Years later we met again , I was still in awe even though Waylon was quite ill, He finished his even though he was having shortness of breath due to the high altitude of the Canadian north, we were supposed to meet and reminisce on old times ,he was a mentor and almost like a dad to a 20 yr. old kid from CA. Trying to become a Star. This song has lots meaning to me. He died way to soon.
Thats a great story. He was one of a kind. I still listen in admiration to him and the other highwaymen.
My favorite Waylon song
Only sad part of this song, is its to damn short. Waylon is a legend
Right? I didn’t want the video to end! I’m still in shock I’ve never seen this until now. What a treat. Thank you 🙏 Bless You if you’re reading this
How does this video not have a million views
Warpoet good question
Yesss
If there has ever been a country music legand ........this man was it
And to think I saw him in Hays Kansas TEN years before this. What a night at Lewis Field. Whoa.
Oh if I could only turn back the years, they don't make em like Waylon any more.
The best❤️
Back again. I just love this song. Waylon and Travis Tritt do a great duet too. Just a great song and Waylon nails it.
Great video. Would have been fun to see it live.
Waylons voice sounds better here than on the record.
Love it!! Waylon was in fine form that night!
What a lovely man! Waylon Jennings. Legend. Brilliant song too. Thanks so much for posting.
What a funny guy 😁 Sleep well Waylon, you're absolutely legendary
A True to life song from the hearts of Waylon ! No one writes like this anymore ⭐️
One of my life time regrets is that I never saw Waylon live... Awesome person
I got to see him play at the Golden Nugget lounge in 1971.
Mine too
I saw him live in 1992. It was one of the top five days of my life. I was so nervous because I wondered if he sounded as good live as he did on film and on record. He sounded better! Precious memories of the best country singer ever to have drawn breath.
Snowstn, I am really as jealous as I can be! So
wonderful for you! I do wish I had seen Waylon singing n that all
awesome guitar strumming!
Man this guy was and is great, a real player, no pop BS cause the agents want it...he is a players player, real country music......R.I.P. my friend
This is very nice. I think I saw him back in 94 and this reminds me of that concert.
I just had to come back to hear one of my favorities Waylon songs. He sure was chatty that night. That song just says so much and he does it so well.
loved hearing him joke around! :)
I love that tune and I love Waylon Him and my Grandfather are the same age and Waylon reminds me a lot of my grandfather he died two years after Waylon did
This is great! Thanks
That's pretty cool him saying he been to poor valley...would have love to seen him in person.
Good sense of humor. I love him.
Seems like every song of Waylons' that I hear is my favorite, but we shared a very similar upbringing, and this one is either number one or two depending on what day it is. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Awesome Footage !! Great Band....R.I.P Waylon.
I lived in West Texas for 12 years and what he said about it is absolutely true. It is almost completely flat.
same for middle IL. the land is so flat that you can see a tornado coming from far enough away a cellar could be dug before it reached you.
I absolutely love Waylon, I used to listen to my dad's outlaw album all the time. He was gone to fast 😢
Midland and Odessa! The Permian Basin. No water for 200 miles!!!!!!
That voice.
West Texas. Where you can watch your dog run away for two weeks.
I LIV IN ABILENE...UMMM..WAT YER DOG LOOK LIKE..
?LONE☆
now thats funny
Oh geez, I've watched this three times in a row! I can't stand it...what a gem. I have the biggest smile on my face; I sure miss him as I watch this with complete mixed emotions and only a few short days from the 10th anniversary of his passing.
An absolute gem of a video and such good sound for a 'fan's' footage. Thank you, Luther and 'fan' for sharing, much appreciated!
Harrisonburg Virginia he put on a hell of a show it was more like a private concert I did not attend but I heard he put on one hell of a show
AWESOME
love this song, travis tritt did a great cover of it
Fantastic! Video clips like this one are true gems. Thanks for posting this.
This is great!.Thanks for the post. Notice how Waylon, forgets the words. Then he drops the time, but the band follows him,and it never happened.A wonderful performance,of a Billy Joe Shaver song.Check out Billy Joe Shaver, live at Billy Bobs!.You won't be sorry ,you did!

Absolutely terrific. This is one of my favorite songs. If you do a search for "Where Corn Don't Grow," a couple other Waylon versions will come up. His duet with Travis Tritt is really great. Thanks so much for the post.

FOR WIFE HEATHER SHE LOVE WAYON JENNING
Sure wish it was still either the 70s 80s or 90s :/ i hate shit thousand 16
You ain't lyin' my friend. I feel the same way...
People have always disliked the present and pined for the past. I remember people saying this sort of thing 20 years ago. I get what your saying though.
Try 2022
Those were definitely better days. Much better music for sure.
Do you have anymore clips from this show?
Alvin, this is my second UA-cam page just for Waylon, Cash and other outlaw music. I haven't really posted much. I do have about half of the afternoon show and almost all of the nighttime show. I only posted this because he tells such a great story and there is not much video footage of him singing this song. I'm amazed at how good this show sounds on a VHS Camcorder.
What year did Waylon die?
Michael Wurz thank you!
Michael Wurz I was nearly 14 but unfortunately I was not as aware of his work as I am now.
I was walking in to work to clock in when I heard the news. Definitely ruined my day.
@@gregmican I was turning into my driveway. Really shook me up. Had to take more than a moment.
He died February 13,2002.
better than bieber
How the hell did his face turn into this? 1967 Waylon was a handsome dude and life seems to have laid a heavy hand on the man we see in 1990. Love him dearly since the beginning but lord, that boy paid a price.
FishWhiskey He had a very hard life of drinking and drugs much like Johnny Cash. He probably would not have survived if Jessi hadn't gotten to him when she did.
I always thought he was handsome til the day he died.😍
@@ashleymarie7695he did plenty of drugs but did not drink.
waymore is the baddest country dude of all time....but he is a bit wired on this video for sure....miss ya brother
Pound va,,
anyway.... lol
This ain't no fun!
