    The spin direction of the main rotor is depend on the left or right side of the tail rotor, they tend to moved the tail to the right side for later models.

      All Bell helicopters have main rotors than turn counter-clockwise, the move of the tail rotor from the left to the right was to make the tail rotor more effective and give the pilots more control.

    anyone know why the UH-1Y's Blades spin clockwise and the AH-1W's Spin counter-clockwise ( & tail roters on opposite sidesUH1/AH1) ?

      raxxtango justbthe way they’re manufactured, I don’t think there is any real reason for it.

      Actually it has to do with stress in the tail sections. Tail rotor was moved to left side during the upgrade. I was on the team.

      It’s just a camera effect. They both spin counter-clockwise.
