How to lift your 2003-2008 Honda Pilot 3 inches with the HRG Offroad Ultimate lift kit!

In this video, we perform the installation of an HRG 3 inch ultimate lift kit on a 2007 Honda Pilot. I honestly did not expect to get a full 3 inches out of it because the car has so many miles, but it did end up a bit over 3. It is always a good idea to inspect your suspension bushings, shock absorbers, bump stops, and sway bar links before doing the install, as it is easier to replace those while it is apart.

I so damn stoked to have found this. I have an 07 PIlot EXL 4wd 138,000 miles on her and I have been scouring the interwebs for a decent lift kit and was coming up empty every time until today. I am about to redo the ENTIRE suspension with Moog and Gabriel parts and will now be purchasing this lift kit to complete the job.

@bradleythompson3115 Hey Brad, the tires I use are called General Grabber APT, I get them from tire rack. They are a good all-terrain tire. The size I got is 245/75R16. They are just slightly wider and taller than stock

I really wanted the 3 inch but because of my budget I ordered the 2 inch leveling kit and I love it ! Now I just need some all terrain tires
What size tires are you going to use with the 2 inch leveling kit?
Did you have to get shock extension with it? How is the ride after the lift?

Have you bought it yet? I want to lift my 07 pilot 2" front, 1.5" rear but my concern is milage. Also have you gotten the bigger tires?
Those size tires may rub, do the lift or get a 28mm spacer. Both will help and both together look great!

very good! but I have doubts about this decision - along with an increase in the overall height, the subframes and the exhaust actually let go too ... plus the ABS wires and the brake hose were stretched? Also, were the front spacers offset? thanks!
Since the rear shock is eye to eye can you skip the spacer and put a diffrent longer shock like a bilstien or a kyb monomax?
Ok so where can I get this ultimate 3” lift and subframe kit along with the motor mount setup and how much would the entire kit generally cost.
Really interesting. Wish my old pilot was 4WD, hard to justify on a 2WD IMO.
Just wondering is it necessary to add the spacers to the front sub frame to lift it or is it just that kind of lift kit?

I'm conflicted by the differences offered by an HRG kit VS longer and stiffer springs.
Springs cost 2X more, at least.

Hi how much you guys typically charge for installation
I have an '03 EX-L . Put the 2.5" lift in, 5mm oversized sidewall Defenders, removed the exhaust at the CAT for 304 2.5" stainless into a SS Ultra Quiet Resonator, into a 3" 304 SS NPBoosted fart-can that dumps 1 foot before the rear sub-frame at a 45 degree angle. Not only will I protect my exhaust from being torn off during off-roading, but it sounds like a mix between an Infiniti 35 and a Supra at 3000-4500RPM

Hello, I am installing your kit 3 inch right now on a 2003 MDX and the rear subframe does have brackets like the front sub frame did on this pilot should I have more spacers to accommodate that or remove the brackets?
I was going to order this product but I was told this lift damages cv axles? But in the video it looks like no stress is being added

You get about 3 inches of additional clearance with no other changes

I just bought a 2008 Acura MDX. Going to order this soon. Thinking about 255/70R18 (32.06") tires. Anyone with experience with this combination? I see the HRG recommended tire size is 255/65R18 (31.1") with 3" lift.

Interesting thing is - if you lift Honda CRV RD1 3 inches (OME springs) - you do not need extended shocks.
I was not aware that OME advertised a 3 inch lift for 1st Gen. can you post a link to it? Also, 1st Gen as well as 2nd and 3rd Gen CRVs do not have separate shocks like the Pilot.

Depends around 300 to 500 . some shops won’t even do this and tell you it’s bad for your car but who cares 🤷♂️
