Happy new year Temi! Coming from an artist, I appreciate your work a lot! I’m having a hard time balancing school and art and I hardly upload any of my art anymore BUT you inspire me so so much. Thanks a lot :)
Hi Temi I don't reply to your art vibs but am 10 years old and I what to be an artist. Your vibs help me slot and I thank you for the help thanks 💗💗💗💗💗😊😊😊😊😊😊
Same! I’m basically 14 as well and ever since this summer I’ve started to have art more as an actual hobby, and you can tell my improvement just by my grade in art going up from a c- to a b+ hahah!
This isn't roasting, it's actual, real, constructive criticism. The kind we should all be aiming for when we try to help other artists!! I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to critique but honestly I wouldn't mind being roasted by Temi lol~ I've been an artist my whole life but honestly I kind of suck at realism ;; So this channel is super inspiring. Honestly I relate so hard to the digital thing, though ... I have so much trouble critiquing non-traditional art cause I do not understand the digital techniques whatsoever ;; Like, I can say what loooooks weird, but I have no idea how to fix it :') I stink at using a tablet so I'd be automatically a hypocrite XD
9:47 for digital art the best way that 'd recommend for colored shading is when making your shading layer set the layer mode to multiply, turn down the opacity of the layer and choose your colors. might be different for other people but thats how i usually go about it.
10:41 This part inspired me a lot. I'm sometimes afraid to draw poc because I'm worried I'll mess up or make the skin look wrong but seeing this encouraged me to be more diverse with my art
I’m poc and shit, my white WHITE corny phrases friend could do a better job drawing my skin tone than I can at the moment. I’m not the darkest but my skin is confusing as at some points you have to go in with deep browns but my main points are light. I’m kind of used to picking out my colors for my skintone as I’m sure you know which ones fo pick for yours, but a way to get accuracy on poc skintones is by studying portraits of a specific race and choosing your pallet then experimenting. Also studying other artists’ works on different poc will help if you aren’t sure where to start with your pallet. Dark skintones with color pencil are still a bit confusing to me but it’s not impossible for me to be satisfied in the end. Keep trying! I don’t think any poc will take personal offense if the skintone ends up being a bit different but if the shade is 10x darker it may come off as intentional to some 😭 but at least you’ll know and learn from your mistakes and keep improving from the last.
Temi i love your nails and earrings, im so excited to finish watching this video hope you have an amazing new year. God bless :)) also i would love to see a digital art video

But then I remembered you said not to be afraid to use other colours other than beiges and browns and pinks as shadow colours, but to add purples and blues too. Oh my god I can't believe you actually featured my video!!! I'm in shock I can't put it into words really..thank you so much 🥺 ❤ and yes it was watercolour with some coloring pencils I definitely ruined the hair at some point 😂 and the background was already greenish. Also yes I normally sketch on lined paper it's easier and also cheaper 😅 😂
I want to thank you for making me feel better about my art work! I know I’m only 12 but sometimes it’s hard to like the piece you have drawn! Thank you for being such an inspiration to me and others in the art community. Cannot wait to see what content comes out in 2022 💕
I'm a digital artist, the Ariana piece I feel like the lack of detail is due to an over reliance on the airbrush and not from using one layer, in fact I believe they probably use layers, a lot of beginner artists fall into that trap because it's really easy to control the airbrush(It's the brush that produces this natural soft smoky/misty kind of shading) and make a nice and smooth effect compared to blending other harder brushes if you are starting with a drawing tablet and aren't familiar with how much pressure, how to configure it properly, etc AND especially if you're drawing with a mouse which is what I did back when I started, which requires you to manually change the opacity and flow for your brush, it's not that difficult once you get the workflow and have the shortcuts down so this is not a flex xD. It also comes from the fact using harder brushes and making more daring and defined details feels a little upsetting when you're not used to it(even when you are, honestly) it usually means going into that ugly phase until you manage to polish the details you're going for properly. The airbrush can make you feel like you're adding a lot more detail than you actually are and feels satisfying enough when you're looking at a piece for hours on end, which also in some cases, I know it happened to me for a brief period, can be used to trick yourself into ignoring the parts of anatomy and your weak points, and enabling you to not challenge yourself into learning how to do the things you may not know how to tackle properly and ultimately fall into this comfort zone of the airbrush. Plus a lot of nice art can be achieved by using one layer in digital, I myself used to paint a lot using only one layer and I even go back to it from time to time. While it does make for a lot of work and planning ahead, sometimes if you can do it properly it can achieve a really nice, natural and organic look. I'm not saying the airbrush can't be used, it certainly has it's place, but using it too much can end up being a crutch, and if you actually try to go for the more defined details, darker shadows, brighter highlights and all the jazz while using it on a whole piece, ultimately makes it look out of focus. I know because I actually did this once I was more experienced, and it looked nice while I was doing it but when I went back to look at it, I felt like I needed new glasses xD

Hello, I was nine years old when I told my mother that I wanted to learn how to draw an eye. My mum was supportive and helped me. After that, 5 years later I can draw anime really well. I would like to thank you, you inspired me along with some other artists, thank you!
temi i have just found you and so thankful! your art is absolutely stunning and you are so underrated, do you think youd be able to do a drawing with posca markers?
Hey Temi! First of all, congratulations for the huge success of your channel and thank you so much for your nice and helpful videos. I didn't want to end 2021 without making a suggestion with love and respect to your next videos: I would like to see a video recommending books to learn to draw and paint black people. I would like to feel confidence doing it and not feeling bad when I fail. You are the best artist who can teach us. It's necessary to avoid mistakes with the skin colour like in the thumbnail. Unfortunately, many books are just focused on facial structure of white people (even thought they don't mention that) and I feel they are useless to me when it comes to draw the majority of inhabitants of our planet. Or even better, why don't you publish a book about it? Considering all your experience at black people portraits, I am sure it will be amazing and many artists will follow your tips. I hope my words didn't sound inappropriate or incorrect because that couldn't even further from my good aims, most of all being conscious about that day it's today. Happy New Year and best wishes!
I find drawing black people to be intimidating. I don't want to mess up all of those beautiful chocolatey skin tones, therefore I gravitate toward the vanilla skin tones of white people. I even hesitate to draw the in-between caramel tones. Should I just take the plunge and draw people of all colors? I want to, but I still fear failure.

Hi temi i am a big fan and I want you to do another part because i saw this video late tysm!
The whitewashed one just got me crying 😭
Hey Temi!
First of all, congratulations for the huge success of your channel and thank you so much for your nice and helpful videos. I didn't want to end 2021 without making a suggestion with love and respect to your next videos:
I would like to see a video recommending books to learn to draw and paint black people.
R u from the uk?
I was waiting for this video for a long time!
happy holidays! 😀
lots of great art to give some nice advice on
