Not one hurling brain on that galway team like the team in the 80ies dont play as a team better at losing than winning and as for joe had he been taken off in the second half they might have sneaked it
@Thomas O'loughlin I have seen many comments about Galway hurling and you couldn't have said it any better. Joe Canning would have been better off substituted, I often felt he was taking up the position of a better harder working player. They got lucky in 2017 not meeting Kilkenny in both the Leinster c'ship and All Ireland series. Then in 2018 they meet KK 3 times, 2 wins and a draw and still failed to win the All Ireland. Final insult was when Joe retired when he passed Henry Shefflin's scoring record, that to me proved he was only an attention seeker. Just this year 2022 will see Cork's Patrick Horgan pass both Henry and Joe's scoring record :)

No way, Joe Canning was a brilliant hurler, never bring him off that's like Kerry taking off David Clifford or Barcelona taking off Messi
