    I’ve used a C15 for five years + on my Brompton. Not one problem. Very comfortable on short and long rides. Mine is set at 2° nose up; that works best for me.

      Glad to hear that yours is all good too. Really happy with mine. Like you said, some small adjustments in angle is often all it takes to make a big difference! 👍

    I recently fitted a C.17 to my M3 because the supplied saddle soaks up water if it gets rained on. I already have a C17 on my Dawes Fox so I knew what to expect. From my experience, a very good saddle.

    Ref. saddle height, I've always set it using my instep, not my heel. This works for me, although I'm only 1.77m. tall, putting the extended length seat pin on my M3 at max. works perfectly for me so I don't have to concern myself about the correct height - !

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 роки тому

      Nice to know! Another way of working out the right height 👍

  • @darrencoates
    @darrencoates 3 роки тому +3

    Nice video. You really need to get a saddle height insert for your bike. They come free when you buy Bromptons from new. No need to draw on your post - set the height correct to you and then you'll just need to pull the post up to the max and your seatpost will be the correct height for you.

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 роки тому

      Thanks Darren. Shaun mentioned that as well. Mine doesn’t have one so maybe they missed it out 😂
      Or maybe the person before took it out. I had thought about getting a new one but never thought it would be that useful. Sounds like they are though! 👍

      @@CycleEveryday oh yeah, super useful, although they are a ‘set it and forget it’ component. Only £5. Brilliant Bikes do a good video about using them (same heel height technique as you do, then cut the insert accordingly). Anyway, looking forward to your next video.

    I assume you chose the C17 (vs C15 or C19) based on your type of riding (less sporty than the C15 but not as upright as the C19)?
    How long did it take to get used to?

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah the C17 was best option personally. Took a couple of rides and a few little tweaks to get it to where we needed. After that though was very good! 👍

    I just ordered yesterday a 2023 C Line here in Los Angeles which the specs say come with this saddle. We shall see. I will report back if I have anything useful to say. For myself, I use this kind of bike for short local errands, so the saddle is not that important to me. If I were commuting long distance like you I might care about it more. The lighter the better, I guess, is my basic attitude. I have a one speed Dahon and I switched out the heavily padded saddle it came with for some mountain bike saddle that is very minimalist. By the way, I commented on one of your other videos (can't find the comment now... so many videos!) wondering how you get your moving very low-angle shots just above the ground level. A bit later I saw your "making of" video where you explain you are using a selfie stick, not a drone. Anyway, very impressive! I think you have great cinematic sense! Bravo!

      @@CycleEveryday Well, to follow up, my bike arrived with the standard Brompton saddle, not the Brooks C17. I emailed Brompton and they got back to me quickly and offered to send me a Brooks. I told them I am fine with the Brompton saddle. I'm new to this so I am happy to try their own parts. I have some extra saddles around from long ago sold off bikes in case I feel I need to switch.

    I’m new to biking and I’m looking for new saddle. I just got a Brompton P line that come with Fizik Aliente R7 saddle. I really don’t like the saddle. It makes me backside sore for days. But I don’t know what kind of saddle fit me. But if the current fizik aliente R7 doesn’t fit me, what other type of saddle could possibly won’t fit me too? I like Brooks saddle, but it looks “hard” to me.
    Thanks.

      The Brooks saddles are hard but they are comfortable. The standard saddle on the C-Lines are comfortable as well I find, but it is different for everyone unfortunately. Best thing to do is to go and have a look at a few different ones to see what you think. 👍

    I personally didn’t opt for the Brook C17. The texture looks like it will wear ur jeans thin over time. I opted for the Fabric Scoop Race Shallow on my S-type. The smooth surface of the padding/ cover composite is a far cry from the Brooks sandpaper. The ‘Scoop’ is the same saddle found on the gen 2 CHPT3, except the ‘shallow’ version is more aggressive. Flexes similar to the Brooks, but dosen’t mould to your arse like the brooks. Extra care should be taken when selecting the right shape/ contours.

    How about - the Saddle letting Pants ripping after a wile ? 🤔
    Another Channel tested this Saddle and said, in 6 month this saddle killed like 3 Pants because of it’s rough surface. Specially Jeans

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  3 роки тому +2

      Well in the past two months since using it every day, I have have done 1,101 miles or 1,777km on it. Spend about 16 hours a week on the Brompton and havent had any issues personally. Not found any difference to the standard saddle in terms of trousers get worn out and so on. I wear jeans as well most of the time and no concerns there. Never really had a problem in that respect.
      But I think it would depend on how a lot of different things like whether they slide around on it when riding or not. Can only really speak out of personal findings and a lot of others who I know have had this saddle for a few years and never had the issue you describe above. Hope that helps?

    • @CycleEveryday
      @CycleEveryday  2 роки тому

      They are a fair price and although they are good, is worth thinking about whether it is beneficial for the cost. It was £119.99 so that’s why I think it’s worth thinking about. Hope that helps Ray? 👍The reason for not giving the price is that it will change over time and depending on where you get one from. The aim of this video is to show the saddle, and how we have found it rather than the cost of it.
