APPENDIX: Jagex has made an update AGAIN so handling in multiple potions gives you bonus points. I've tested a bunch of different methods and have made a NEW guide, you can find it here or in the description: ua-cam.com/video/cVSurgArPS4/v-deo.html
Wizzy Hat G made a video about making a full inv of pots and it’s insanely good even without 81 herb. Please include this in your testing. I have a feeling it’d blow your mind
Thats included in this vid but I dont see a new vid on it based on the 20%/40% point bonuses. If anything, id expect it to be nerfed or other methods may have surpassed or equaled it.
Not certain if it is the best one, but I figured out a potentially good 'make select' method. If we assume that we want to make an additional potion only if doing so would increase our points received by an amount higher than the average best potion in a random set of three, then a strategy that respects this assumption would be: 1. Make the best potion 2. Also make the second best if it is 'ALA' or better (according to the chart in the video) 3. If you've made the second, also make the third if it is 'MMM' or better 4. Unless there's a Mixalot, then always make three
Thank you. I try to include both because most players are mains but I'm a big time Ironman player. Its still interesting to me that both have different paths and strategies as well... like the herbs used differences are HUGE.
Thank u for continue of my favourite guide. I know that a lot of viewers struggle with 1 problem: a lot of points on one ingredient (mox, aga or lye), so this is my solution of this problem. 1) step : Prepare "skipping" potions 😮. When u f.e. have a lot of lye points combine potions without lye (mma or maa or another depends on level) 2) focus the most on pots which have colours u lack. U need the most mox after lye so u search for mml or mma. Do mal of course for digweed. 3) When prepared potions focus on 2 ways: crystalised -> concentraded -> agitator or concentraded -> crystalised -> agitator. When u return from trip if 2 or 3 orders with majority of no needed colour ( like in my example lll or all, mll) u can skip. If u have low interesting orders like 3 ala potions (aga is not necessary for rewards a lot) u can skip too by preparing wrong order potion and add it to conveyor too. Last for me: don't be too greedy, the other points will balance after few hours, dont choose only the best choices for orders. Remember that this method is only for balance points and is not the best exp/point method
I do a sort of hybrid method between single and multiple potion turn-in. I try to ignore triple ingredient potions (MMM/LLL/AAA) and also AAM to help with point balance, and then try to do as many of the remaining ones as possible. If there's multiple potions on a single station (with a potion that I want to make), I make those potions anyway even if suboptimal. My theory is that while single potions are better, the main issue with making multiple potions is the additional running time between stations. If you bulk make potions at the same station, I think you'll end up saving time overall. I'd be curious to see more data on these two hybrid methods: - Make multiple potions with a blocklist (no MMM/LLL/AAA/AAM) - Target a single best potion, but do any other potions that are at the same station (possibly with the blocklist above) Awesome guide!
I was thinking about this as well and def did it a few times with the agitator since you can double click it to speed it up. Great idea, its probably pretty close, maybe save you another 30 min or so in the 15 hour grind
Just a tip. When the agitator shoots sparks, you can quickly click it twice to immediately finish the potion instead of once. If you are not fast enough, you will reduce the progress.
Oh wow nice tip! Guess when they added the extra tick of leeway, it game you the possibility to click twice in the two ticks of leeway. Def a new bug but nice discovery!
Is a bug with this thing too. If u click twice and forgot to wait for finishing potion, means u go away when almost 100%, when u click on agitator u must do again the same potion wihout chance to boost progress (the agitator returns unprepared potion and when u use agitator again u must wait normal time for preparing any potion for 1 cycle)
Awesome video man, very concise and easy to understand. First video I've seen of yours and the first video that's not a day one guide that gives a lot of updated and helpful information. I was wondering which method was best between the two and happy you did the calcs for us lol
Thank you for watching, happy it was helpful. I also made a day 1 guide but once the changes went through, it was very easy to realize how inaccurate those guides have become. I might even de-list my old one tbh.
@@TravagGames Day one guides serve their purpose in the early hours or days for fresh updates, not meant to be taken as a full fledge guide. Haven't watched your other video but I feel as long as videos as labeled correctly or updated later, thats probably suffice enough
As an Iron, i would go with Lantadyme as Aga, because u wont need that much Anti fire pots or magic pots. Its decent xp but not really needed, could safe those irit or dwarfs. In my opinion :) But all in all, very good guide thank you very much, helped a lot!
A small addition: the potion priority here is correct if you're only going for the useful items, but if you're going for greenlog the priority changes, because the alchemist clothing costs more Aga than Mox, altering the proportion between the total points. For the greenlog case the priority is: MAL > MLL > ALL > MML > ALA > MMA > AAM > LLL > MMM > AAA Again this is only for the complete greenlog, if you're going for everything except the labcoat, pants, and gloves then the list in the video applies.
Good Point! Luckily they are so few points for all 3 pieces that it's not going to make a big impact either way. I think you'll have enough points regardless but yes you can re-prioritize for Aga, especially as you get close to green log and notice any discrepancies
@@TravagGames Yeah It's a small optimization but It should be the fastest way to greenlog if you know a priori you're going for it. The idea for me is also to minimize the changes to your priority so you can rely more on muscle memory and worry the least about maintaining point ratios. I should also point out that the list in my comment is only optimal if you plan on greenlogging and never touching the game again. If you're planning to also buy a lot of Aldarium, then it's best to stick with the list in the video.
Hey Travag, great guide, what level do you recommend starting Mastering Mixology for an ironman? I'm currently 76 Herb and have a couple months worth of herbs stacked up and was wondering if I should do traditional herblore training until 81 to make the MixALot (MAL) combination or just start now
Up to you but you might want to nab the goggles and amulet so that you can make more pots with your current stack, then go back to the minigame at 81 for the other stuff. They just updated the game to give bonus points for multiple potions so jusy always make 3 potions at a time.
I thought it seemed overwhelming but once I tried it (just getting screen markers) it's actually pretty chill. You don't have to pay attention to the orders or anything. And a third of the prep you can keep your eyes off the screen while you spam click the last station.
Not a criticism of your video, but I was holding out for a Tithe-farm equivalent for herblore and thought this was as close as we were going to get. This seems expensive, complex and with plenty of room to screw up. Back to de-grime for me.
Thats understandable. I think the barrier to entry is a bit high but it quickly becomes more chill then tithe imo. Just focus on making 1 potion at a time and you really cant go to wrong. Revisit the vid once you are more comfortable
Hard to say because you get anywhere from 20-60 per potion, plus 120 for digweed and 10 for failed.. lets say you get an average of 40 points per potion, it would take around 45k Mox, 40k Aga, 53k Lye for all rewards. Single-potion method will cost you less than multi-potion method because your average turn in is higher. Guess thats another point towards single-potion making, you'll spend less time refining herbs.
@@TravagGames refinimg is very fast though. not sure why you said you have to use the herb or unf potion on the machine. you can actually just spam click the machine
What I meant to convey is that you can use either an herb or unf pot to refine, not "left-click use", just use as in those are your options for refining. Lots of iron have unf pots so that was more of a call out for them. Think I mention spam clicking for speed in the video.
Hey man I got a question. I'm currently aiming on getting reagent pouch, the goggles and amulet. On the mixology plug-in, what should I set the strategy for? Currently, I have it set to favor lye. Any advice would be sweet.
The plugin favouring system isnt updated yet, it will favour LLL for example if you have it set to Lye. None of the other settings seem to do much but maybe you have to leave the area ans come back for them to work. Just focus on making potions with at least two Elements used, while favouring those with L first and M second. You should have a good distrubtion just from doing that. And ofc use the mixalots every time.
Almost closed the vid because I thought it was just going to be a basic tutorial. Maybe at the start say we are covering the fundamentals then doing a deep dive
Thanks for the feedback. This is one of those minigames where the line between basic tutorial and doing it very well is fairly small once you know the details. Good luck, worst case, just make 1 potion at a time, focus on mixalot as best potion followed by any non-single element pot..
@@TravagGames Or does it make sense to train up first before continuing with this minigame? do the single ingredient mixes go away completely when I get to a higher lever, or is it just more options thrown in?

If you do the last method, its UNDER 6 hours for all 3 and the goggles are like 2 hours and 5-10 min.
@@TravagGames 3 minutes. Also allows you to leave the area to go to the bank whilst keeping your digweed. You can also double click the station closest to the potion hand-in when it flashes green from the plugin to insta-skip the processing.
