My all time favorite musician is Peter Gabriel. His self-titled second album "scratch" was a great disappointment at the time and never grew on me. There's nothing but mediocrity. Most of my least favorite songs throughout his career are on this album. Campy is not his strength...
Guys! Come On! Calling All Stations may not be The Lamb…. or Selling England…. but it is not sh1t either. I have every album by Genesis (and then some!) since I first heard of and discovered them in 1974. In my opinion CAS is a good album. A very good album. It does take some time to get into and to understand it, but when you invest some time and you listen to it, over and over, you begin to hear some real interesting stuff in there. Stuff that will call you back again and again.
The "worst" Beatles album (or the least essential, anyway) is probably Yellow Submarine. Beatles For Sale isn't bad; it's just a little too heavy on covers.
The Beatles are a mediocre band who had good songwriting skills but as far as guitar work and Ringo's drumming skills, they do not stand out as great musicians.Ringo is a sub par drummer with limited skills,he reminds me of Peter Criss of KISS,another substandard drummer with no imagination or craft to his work. Now Neil Peart from Rush was a magnificent drummer.
Seriously? Do you think the Beatles would have been better with N.P on the drums? How about McCartney playing like Jaco? I do agree Harrison was a mediocre guitar player. But he did enough to serve the music, and that's what's important.
Speaking of Starcastle and Renaissance...a bit of trivia...Annie Haslam painted the cover of the Starcastle album Song of Times. My candidate for "One Bad Album" bands, The Alan Parsons Project's "The Sicilian Defense."
Good stuff Scott...... BUT :) - If you think Genesis (one of my favourite bands ever) finally had a bad album with Calling All Stations, I refer you to its predecessor - the unlistenable, sappy, syrupy, god-awful 'We Can't Dance'. CAS is a significant step up. For your penance, please have someone strap you in a chair and listen to 'We Can't Dance' from start to finish :) Keep up the great work.
Calling All Stations could have been much better if Genesis had replaced about 3/4 of the album with some of the B-sides. Those were some of the best songs they'd written in years. Then they might have successfully reinvented themselves and continued on into the 21st century instead of bringing their recording career to a screeching halt.
Hmm…wracking my brain on this one. I’ve come up with Electric Light Orchestra and their last album from their classic period which was Balance of Power. Not so good when you consider great albums like Eldorado and Face the Music. I’m sure there are more bands that have one bad record but ELO is the only one I can think of. It’s a good topic Scot.
I think John Elefante was a good fit when Steve left but the writing wasn't typical Kansas. That was the problem. John had his brother as a co-writer (more so on 'Vinyl Confessions') also and, of course, their music tended to lean towards Christian themes being that both were Christians as was Kerry at that time. Basically the only song I liked from this album was 'Fight Fire with Fire' and even 'Vinyl Confessions' I have never really liked that. Now, if Kansas had written material that John has done from his last 3 solo albums then they might have had something. But, they didn't and this album as well as 'Vinyl Confessions' sound like the 80's and sound so dated compared to their previous albums when you listen to them today. As far as the album cover, yes, horrible, but I think 'Freaks of Nature' beats it for worst album cover from the band. For ELP, I agree with 'In the Hot Seat' as their worst album. Only track here even worth mentioning is the cover 'Man in the Long Black Coat'.
I've always loved Beatles for Sale. "I'm a Loser," "No Reply," great stuff. I also like Drastic Measures. Admittedly, if I like a band, I'm not hard to please when it comes to their catalog. 😂
Scot, you seem like a really cool guy! I love your channel. Now, having said that I totally disagree with Holidays In Eden. I LOVE Marillion; they are my favorite band. I have everything they ever released. Being 65 years old; I have been there since the very beginning. My opinion is this: the last 3 albums are the worst! Sorry, but my favorite has seen better days. Now there are people who say everything they do is great; you know, the people that if they recorded an album of just all the members flatulating , they would call it a masterpiece 😂. I think that the problem that Steve Hogarth has made it ‘too’ personal as witnessed in the song “Montreal”. I would love to see another Afraid of Sunlight or Brave but I do not think that will happen, sadly. Just my opinion. Keep on Progging, my friend.
Good job! But I always thought Gentle Giant fits the mold with "Giant for a Day". "Missing Piece" and "Civilian" are mediocre, but not bad. "Gentle Giant" has one or two bad cuts but along with "Acquiring the Taste" are great albums.
Cheap Trick The Doctor, all of their other albums are good or better. Hot Space from Queen is pretty bad. I think the only Bad Beatles is album is actually Let it be, never liked most of the songs. Id also include the Kinks, I think Preservation Act 2 is their only really bad album. Rush Vapor Trails, sorry could never get into this one at all
Difficult theme. Some of the "worst" albums from a band I do like, and some I don't but then this band has more 'bad ones'. Of course it's personal taste but I came up with a top 5: 1. U2 - Pop (never really liked that one). 2. Jethro Tull - Under Wraps (I don't mind Catfish rising, but Under Wraps, with that synthy drumming just doesn't do it for me) 3. Deep Purple - Turning to Crime (I like some songs but most are no-no's) 4. Godley & Creme - Freeze Frame (although I like the big single on it) 5. Utopia - Swing to the right (also never connected with that one).
The Cars: _Panorama_ ("Touch and Go" is the only really good song on it.) Bauhaus: _Go Away White_ (It's rather dull and anticlimactic. Very disappointing.) Van Halen: _Diver Down_ (I don't consider any VH without David Lee Roth to be valid VH albums, so none of them are listed here.)
Yep. No violin, no Kansas. And Drastic Measures is more of a mediocre John Elefante solo album than a Kansas album. Even two of the three Kerry Livgren songs are just average(Mainstream is excellent). It sounded like a mediocre Foreigner album Genesis: No, We Can't Dance was crap too, along with Calling All Stations.
@@TheProgCornerIf they got all the crappy hits on singles only with the short fillers as B sides only, they could have had a 40 minute album titled Fading Lights that would have the good stuff only. Then after a year or so, release a EP with all the crap on the singles.
@@TheProgCorner Totally agree. It makes a nice pair with Anderson's Walk Into Light. Great songwriting in this era. I love the synths. The vision is focussed. A great era. 80's prog needs more love!
First Band that came into my mind was Toto. Their Album Tambu was really boring for me. Another two bands that came to my mind, both from my home country Germany, are Grobschnitt with Merry-Go-Round and Triumvirat with Russian Roulette. Interesting topic, I love it.
Jethro Tull... Lap of Luxury... Absolutely horrid Kansas Absence of Presence Queen.. Hot Space Genesis: We Can't Dance Marrilion, most albums with Hogarth ELP: agree Beatles: Yellow Submarine
In my opinion, there’s no bad Beatles album. The worst (With The Beatles, again IMO) is still greater than many band’s greatest. Beatles for Sale has a really soft spot for me, actually.
Can't dispute any of these, even Beatles For Sale, but if I was to pick a single Genesis album that I really don't rate (Genesis to Revelation is fine) then it's got to be Abacab. Just can't get into that one, I like Duke, love the self titled from 83 and Invisible Touch, so it's not a Phil v Peter thing. Just can't get into it. Even Calling All Stations has its moments.
Good picks! Not prog but I think: The Devil Wears Prada - all at least good except The Act. Green Day - all at least good except Father of All Motherf*ckers. Bent Knee - all at least good except Frosting. Megadeth - all at least good except Super Colliders. Letlive - all at least good except Speak Like You Talk. For prog: Porcupine Tree - all at least good except On the Sunday of Life... The Alan Parsons Project - all at least good except The Sicilian Defence Mike Oldfield - all at least good except Voyager (am I odd for picking that one as the worst? maybe too Celtic for me?) Enslaved - all at least good except Vikingligr Veldi (maybe just cause it's a really raw production debut and that isn't to my taste). If it counts then The Dear Hunter's "The Fox and the Hunt" is their only bad album but it's more of an orchestral thing rather than a proper album. This might be my hottest take here but I think Yes's albums are all at least good except Talk (I think most people have a different least favourite; Open Your Eyes, Union and Heaven & Earth aren't up to normal Yes quality standards either but if a band that wasn't named Yes made those I think people would say they're decent to good rather than straight up bad). Maybe I'll borrow this idea from you and make a video on this topic explaining my picks above.
The Beatles "For Sale" has some fillers. These I never really cared for much: - "Words of Love" : I get it. The love for Buddy Holly and it's not bad. Just a bit boring - "Baby's in Black" : Not a total stinker, but it doesn't smell good either - "Mr. Moonlight" : Now, this is a stinker - "Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!": I bet it could make the roof take off live in the Hamburg days, but not so much on record - "Honey Don't" : Ringo dooooont.... - "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" : It's allright, I guess. But I wouldn't play it at a party. - "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby": They really could have done more with this But then again these: - "No Reply" : In my honest opinion the best song on the album - "Rock and Roll Music": This is a kick ass version and evidence of this being a full throttle rock'n'roll band when they wanted to be - "I'll Follow the Sun": A beautiful little song with great melodic quality - "Every Little Thing": There's a reason Yes did a cover of this, because it's a very good song with some interesting twists - "Eight Days a Week": It's a huge hit for a reason Now these I had to give a couple of spins to remind myself: - "I'm a Loser": Never a favourite of mine, still isn't - "What You're Doing": Now, this is far better than I remembered. The album cover, however....it's so good because it tells the story about why this album isn't their best work. Nevertheless, that was my take on your top posting today. Still trying to land after yesterday's BIG BIG TRAIN gig in Oslo. Much love from the Oslo Weirdo
@@TheProgCorner And I had beers with the band afterwards. They just bumped into my regular water hole just down the road and settled down. Had a really nice chat with Claire, Nick and Gregory. Aaaaaand I sort of mentioned The Prog Corner, just for the record.
Black Sabbath - Never Say Die Yes - Union Genesis - We Can't Dance (I'll take Stations over it any day) Judas Priest - Ram It Down (the less successful Turbo) Iron Maiden - The X Factor
Black Sabbath had several awful albums and Never Say Die isn't one of them. Forbidden on the other hand is a dried blob of parrot droppings and Born Again is just wrong from start to finish.
@@sabbracadabra7503 I like it more than Forbidden, a lot more. They took chances on that one. Forbidden is mostly dreck with a couple of ok tunes. But I haven't heard the remix. I'll check it out.
Under Wraps has some great tracks. It's just the drum machines that spoil it. I've made my own version using Audacity, with the drums toned down and it's loads better. Who knows; maybe Steven Wilson will do a real drums remix. We can only hope.
Under Wraps may be layered with all of the cheesy 80s trappings possible, but underneath the songwriting is as good as anything Tull did in the 70s imho.
In the Hot Seat by ELP is my selection. The cover of Man in the Long Black Coat is the only song I like. Like you said Love Beach is much better other than the hideous album cover photograph.
Great show, you Groovy Ghoulie! I will state a VERY contrarian take: Styx ~ Crash of the Clown. 🤡 Reason number one is the songs are far too short. Just as you expect it to start cooking, it’s over. Number two: no lead vocals from the Godfadda of Styx on a full song?! This is the first time that’s ever happened. My theory when they made Will “WeirdAlYankovic” a full time member was that JY would retire. That has yet to happen. I was told about 25 years ago - by someone in the know - that JY’s hearing was shot. We know his voice is now a shadow of its former self. When are you going to retire, Gramps? Maybe never, because if he does, then it’s The Tommy Shaw Show and not Styx. But then again, is it really Styx now without… Number three: No Dennis the Menace. That nutty cat was the visionary of the band. Is this ragtag group of ragamuffins really Styx anymore? Hmmm… 🤔 the mind boggles. Obviously, Styx are “more Styx” than Foreigner is nowadays, but c’mon man. Everyone raves about The Mission and Crash of the Clown, 🤡 but I feel The Mission is easily the better album. In fact, both of the late period Kansas records are better than Crash Corrigan. And my Styx fandom goes all the way back to 1977. Oh well, “anyway you slice it, it comes up Kraft!” Fascinating topic, Scot… although we’ll all see this differently. Cheese and Cherry Cheers from The Big Apple. Rock Out, Prog On and Pogo! PS: Dug your GBV show from yesterDAyVE. And l concur sir, Do the Collapse is quite excellent. Ric Ocasek brought a nice sheen to the Ohio boys and “Teenage FBI” friggin’ RULES!
I LOVE the short fragments and schizophrenic (almost Guided by Voices like) nature of Crash Of The Crown. But we agree on the two new Kansas albums. And The Mission. (One day you will see the error of your ways, my friend!!!)
are you serious? it has many great songs, actually I like all songs. It's a classic and it's a unique later Beatles album bc it's just 4 guys playing live sounding music instead of the complex stuff they had been doing
Yes I'm serious. I do not like 'Let It Be'; you can be a Beatles fan and not like something they did. I'm very glad you like it. I'd have been fine if they'd never put it out.
Bernie Rhodes was the main reason Cut The Crap sucked as much as it did. There are demo versions which hint at what could have been and a very unofficial but amazing re-recording of these tunes that sound like classic Clash had they not been railroaded & derailed by Bernie. The shittiest drum machine sounds and awful mixes are all on him. This is England still makes this album worth having. The last great Clash song. I'd also recommend checking out Sparks version of We Are the Clash. The song is great, but the recording and mix on CTC are abysmal.
@@Prognosis__I resisted listening to it until recently. I am a Lou Reed fan, not even close to everything but generally appreciate his artistic presence. I enjoy that Metallica is the backing band here and are playing differently ( maybe more simplistic) than they would on one of their records. This is an odd record and I always applaud big artists doing projects that take risks. David Bowie said it was Lou’s best work so have those beers and crank it up.

Awesome video have a great day Scot also happy first day of October ❤😊
Yes!!! Happy October!!!
Holidays in Eden, Catfish Rising are... definitely NOT bad albums..
Okay!
Marillion indeed released one poor album. And that was Hapiness is the Road (well to my ears that is).
My all time favorite musician is Peter Gabriel. His self-titled second album "scratch" was a great disappointment at the time and never grew on me. There's nothing but mediocrity. Most of my least favorite songs throughout his career are on this album. Campy is not his strength...
I don’t like that album either. And it was produced by Robert Fripp. So…
I’ll say Supertramp for my pick. Free as a Bird is understandably looked down on despite an otherwise rather strong discography.
Excellent pick.
When you put them all together it's scary!
Mitt i Livett by my favourite artist of all time Bo Hansson, and Equator by Uriah Heep, although it has one amazing track on it: Night of the Wolf.
I haven’t heard all of that Bo Hansson album. What I’ve heard from it is bad…
The last Velvet Underground album was a real shitter.
Now THAT is an excellent call!!!!!!!
Sorry scot, but i like 'calling all stations' canno't compare to their classics of course, but i would definitely put it above 'Genesis to revelation'😊
And Ray Wilson is a great Singer. Saw him very often.
@@ofenblase3713 If I listen to Calling All Stations as a Genesis album, eh...but if I listen to it as a Ray Wilson album, I like it quite a bit.
Guys!
All fair commentary. But...The Beatles? No. No. No. Even at their worst, they're still great.
@@eddiemethot8925 Well, the only reason you're saying that is because you don't know what you're talking about.
@@eddiemethot8925 Ladies and gentlemen, this is the danger of listening to too much prog.
Seriously? Do you think the Beatles would have been better with N.P on the drums? How about McCartney playing like Jaco? I do agree Harrison was a mediocre guitar player. But he did enough to serve the music, and that's what's important.
Really hard...mist long standing bands have many clunkers
Great topic .. im.actually stumped
👍👍👍
Speaking of Starcastle and Renaissance...a bit of trivia...Annie Haslam painted the cover of the Starcastle album Song of Times. My candidate for "One Bad Album" bands, The Alan Parsons Project's "The Sicilian Defense."
There you go!!!!!!! I thought Song Of Times was Ed Unitsky!!!!
@@TheProgCorner They did it together. It was both of them.
Ah!!!! Learn something new every day!!!!
Thank you, Alex!!!
Well Amy Fox ain't here, and if Amy Fox ain't here I couldn't care less🤘 so, you know, consider that I guess
👍👍🤪
OUTSTANDING
Thank you!!!
Calling All Stations could have been much better if Genesis had replaced about 3/4 of the album with some of the B-sides. Those were some of the best songs they'd written in years. Then they might have successfully reinvented themselves and continued on into the 21st century instead of bringing their recording career to a screeching halt.
A good take!!!! 👍👍👍
Thank you!!!
This was a great vídeo. No country music for me either 😀
No thanks!!!!🙂↔️
For Be Bop-Deluxe, I wouldn't say I like drastic plastic. I like red noise and even Bill's solo stuff afterward, too. Just not drastic plastic
Yeah that was their weakest.
I've always loved Beatles for Sale. "I'm a Loser," "No Reply," great stuff. I also like Drastic Measures. Admittedly, if I like a band, I'm not hard to please when it comes to their catalog. 😂
That’s a good way to be!!!
🎶 …don’t spoil the
whole crop of songs 🎵
Yeah, I have been with them since Script. And I love the two latest!!!!!
Good job!
But I always thought Gentle Giant fits the mold with "Giant for a Day". "Missing Piece" and "Civilian" are mediocre, but not bad. "Gentle Giant" has one or two bad cuts but along with "Acquiring the Taste" are great albums.
I used to like Calling All Stations. But then, 'Congo' was in the background when I crashed my car last year....
Not cool!!!!!!😎
This is very entertaining
Omg Calling All Stations what a crock of s---t
Haha those Doors albums what an even worse crock of s--t
Terrible.
Hey Scot! 👍☮️👑🐍🙏😎
❤️❤️🐍🐍
I agree on all accounts, mi amigo! "Love Beach" is actually a fantastic album. Just picked it up on vinyl and it sounds better than ever.
It was the album cover…
@@TheProgCorner Hahaha yeah it really is a terrible album cover. Almost humorous how bad it is.
Rush Vapor Trails, sorry could never get into this one at all
I included Queen because I have had a change of heart on Hot Space!!! Cheap Trick is a great call. The Doctor was terrible.
Difficult theme. Some of the "worst" albums from a band I do like, and some I don't but then this band has more 'bad ones'. Of course it's personal taste but I came up with a top 5:
1. U2 - Pop (never really liked that one).
2. Jethro Tull - Under Wraps (I don't mind Catfish rising, but Under Wraps, with that synthy drumming just doesn't do it for me)
3. Deep Purple - Turning to Crime (I like some songs but most are no-no's)
4. Godley & Creme - Freeze Frame (although I like the big single on it)
5. Utopia - Swing to the right (also never connected with that one).
👍👍Well done!!!
The Cars: _Panorama_ ("Touch and Go" is the only really good song on it.)
Bauhaus: _Go Away White_ (It's rather dull and anticlimactic. Very disappointing.)
Van Halen: _Diver Down_ (I don't consider any VH without David Lee Roth to be valid VH albums, so none of them are listed here.)
I love Panorama!!!! It was everything that came after I disliked!!!!
Yep. No violin, no Kansas. And Drastic Measures is more of a mediocre John Elefante solo album than a Kansas album. Even two of the three Kerry Livgren songs are just average(Mainstream is excellent). It sounded like a mediocre Foreigner album
Genesis: No, We Can't Dance was crap too, along with Calling All Stations.
We Can’t Dance needed to be way shorter!!!!
The last two aren't Kansas albums. No Walsh, no Livgren, no Steinhardt wtf!?
Still good albums though…
I love a lot of We Can’t Dance, but agree with Scott.
Couple songs were filler and could have been cut
@@TheProgCornerIf they got all the crappy hits on singles only with the short fillers as B sides only, they could have had a 40 minute album titled Fading Lights that would have the good stuff only. Then after a year or so, release a EP with all the crap on the singles.
Hahaha.....you frikken nutter! King Chucky needs some prog love man! And well done for not putting Under Wraps on there.
I’m with you - Under Wraps is actually a cool record!!!
I thought about Triumvirat but there are two albums of theirs I’m not super keen on: Russian Roulette and A La Carte…
Jethro Tull... Lap of Luxury...
Absolutely horrid
Kansas Absence of Presence
Queen.. Hot Space
Genesis: We Can't Dance
Marrilion, most albums with Hogarth
ELP: agree
Beatles: Yellow Submarine
In my opinion, there’s no bad Beatles album. The worst (With The Beatles, again IMO) is still greater than many band’s greatest. Beatles for Sale has a really soft spot for me, actually.
👍👍👍
Can't dispute any of these, even Beatles For Sale, but if I was to pick a single Genesis album that I really don't rate (Genesis to Revelation is fine) then it's got to be Abacab. Just can't get into that one, I like Duke, love the self titled from 83 and Invisible Touch, so it's not a Phil v Peter thing. Just can't get into it. Even Calling All Stations has its moments.
People really dislike Abacab!!!!
Good picks!
Not prog but I think:
The Devil Wears Prada - all at least good except The Act.
Green Day - all at least good except Father of All Motherf*ckers.
Bent Knee - all at least good except Frosting.
Megadeth - all at least good except Super Colliders.
Letlive - all at least good except Speak Like You Talk.
For prog:
Porcupine Tree - all at least good except On the Sunday of Life...
The Alan Parsons Project - all at least good except The Sicilian Defence
Mike Oldfield - all at least good except Voyager (am I odd for picking that one as the worst? maybe too Celtic for me?)
Enslaved - all at least good except Vikingligr Veldi (maybe just cause it's a really raw production debut and that isn't to my taste).
If it counts then The Dear Hunter's "The Fox and the Hunt" is their only bad album but it's more of an orchestral thing rather than a proper album.
This might be my hottest take here but I think
Yes's albums are all at least good except Talk (I think most people have a different least favourite; Open Your Eyes, Union and Heaven & Earth aren't up to normal Yes quality standards either but if a band that wasn't named Yes made those I think people would say they're decent to good rather than straight up bad).
Maybe I'll borrow this idea from you and make a video on this topic explaining my picks above.
You definitely should!!!! It’s an oddly rare topic on here…
Kansas! Yeah, DM wasn’t that good 😞 but those first 6 albums 👍🏻😊
I think Drastic Measures is a terrific listen. Top five Kansas for me. What it isn't though, is a prog album. 🙂
All six - 10/10.
The Beatles "For Sale" has some fillers.
These I never really cared for much:
- "Words of Love" : I get it. The love for Buddy Holly and it's not bad. Just a bit boring
- "Baby's in Black" : Not a total stinker, but it doesn't smell good either
- "Mr. Moonlight" : Now, this is a stinker
- "Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!": I bet it could make the roof take off live in the Hamburg days, but not so much on record
- "Honey Don't" : Ringo dooooont....
- "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" : It's allright, I guess. But I wouldn't play it at a party.
- "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby": They really could have done more with this
But then again these:
- "No Reply" : In my honest opinion the best song on the album
- "Rock and Roll Music": This is a kick ass version and evidence of this being a full throttle rock'n'roll band when they wanted to be
- "I'll Follow the Sun": A beautiful little song with great melodic quality
- "Every Little Thing": There's a reason Yes did a cover of this, because it's a very good song with some interesting twists
- "Eight Days a Week": It's a huge hit for a reason
Now these I had to give a couple of spins to remind myself:
- "I'm a Loser": Never a favourite of mine, still isn't
- "What You're Doing": Now, this is far better than I remembered.
The album cover, however....it's so good because it tells the story about why this album isn't their best work.
Nevertheless, that was my take on your top posting today. Still trying to land after yesterday's BIG BIG TRAIN gig in Oslo.
Much love from the Oslo Weirdo
BBT and Beardfish!!!! Oh my!!!!!
@@TheProgCorner And I had beers with the band afterwards. They just bumped into my regular water hole just down the road and settled down. Had a really nice chat with Claire, Nick and Gregory.
Aaaaaand I sort of mentioned The Prog Corner, just for the record.
Gentle Giant. Oh yeah
I have come around a bit on Giant For A Day so they didn’t make the list?!!!
@@TheProgCorner a shocking development. Maybe I should relisten too.
I've been a YES fan since 77, and I can come up with 5 imo but it's a matter of taste. It's just mine l

Yes definitely have a few subpar albums!!!
One that should be on the list is Time from Fleetwood Mac, every song (expect for Christine’s songs) is pretty horrible
A great call. I never liked that one either!!!
Black Sabbath - Never Say Die
Yes - Union
Genesis - We Can't Dance (I'll take Stations over it any day)
Judas Priest - Ram It Down (the less successful Turbo)
Iron Maiden - The X Factor
I thought Tomato was bad too so maybe they had more than one bad album. Can't believe i typed that
Black Sabbath had several awful albums and Never Say Die isn't one of them. Forbidden on the other hand is a dried blob of parrot droppings and Born Again is just wrong from start to finish.
@@Darrylizer1 Never Say Die is terrible. I used to think Forbidden was their weakest, but the new remix from the box set is pretty good.
@@sabbracadabra7503 I like it more than Forbidden, a lot more. They took chances on that one. Forbidden is mostly dreck with a couple of ok tunes. But I haven't heard the remix. I'll check it out.

A great idea!!!! I haven’t done SabbAth yet!!!!
No you’re right he didn’t mention that album!!

That’s right!!!!
There are some rock prog bands...theat not only one bad album...and even 2 or 3 bad albums.
For sure!
I'm surprised you think "Under Wraps" is a better album than "Catfish Rising".
Under Wraps has some great tracks. It's just the drum machines that spoil it. I've made my own version using Audacity, with the drums toned down and it's loads better. Who knows; maybe Steven Wilson will do a real drums remix. We can only hope.
@@richard127gm So you had A Eye manipulate the sound for you? That sounds bad..

@@richard127gm You shouldn't do that
Under Wraps may be layered with all of the cheesy 80s trappings possible, but underneath the songwriting is as good as anything Tull did in the 70s imho.
Don't dislike any of these albums.... just don't spin em much...
Very entertaining Scot.
Have you noticed that In The Hot Seat and the new Sweet album, Full Circle, have virtually the same cover?
I did notice that!!!
In the Hot Seat by ELP is my selection. The cover of Man in the Long Black Coat is the only song I like. Like you said Love Beach is much better other than the hideous album cover photograph.
I can probably come up with four or five songs from Hot Seat that I enjoy to some extent.
@@micolsen9824 that's why music is so great. What one person likes , another person might not like.
Catfish rising was the last Jethro Tull album I actually enjoyed.
I never got into it for some reason!!!
But then again, is it really Styx now without…
Number three: No Dennis the Menace.
Oh well, “anyway you slice it, it comes up Kraft!”

Radiohead - The King of Limbs
I really like TKOL!!!! (There’s one in every crowd, right?)
Blackfields fourth release.
Beatles - "Let It Be" - No George Martin, no quality control.
White Album ? Remove like 6 songs and it would be decent .
What a mess!!! But some of the material was stellar. Spector redeemed himself with The Ramones ten years later.
are you serious? it has many great songs, actually I like all songs. It's a classic and it's a unique later Beatles album bc it's just 4 guys playing live sounding music instead of the complex stuff they had been doing

@@larsman9169 I think it's fine if you dislike something they did. I personally like it quite a bit
Hey Scot👍🏿. Interesting topic, and no entry for Yes? Union?
Union and Heaven & Earth. So I think they have two “bad” albums…
Okay!!!!👍
The Velvet Underground - Squeeze. If you consider it a VU album…
That is the correct answer!!!!
Boston - Life, Love & Hope
A good call.
Yes, indeed.
I think most Queen fans would nominate Hot Space for this category.
I disagree, its a good album.... just out of line with the type of music we expected from them.
