Another awesome Sharing Here ! (BANJO DRIVE LESSON .)
5 thumbs up !
When you slide to fret 5 string 1, try then going further to fret 6 string 2, and fret 8 string 1. It gives a really nice quick minor sound.
Very good teacher and very good method ! Thank you very much !
I've seen them and thought the same thing.."can't be that much difference in a thumb pick"...I was thinking of purchasing one of the Sammy Shelor's but just skeptical about it...
thanks for the info...
The best discussion of banjo "drive" I've ever heard, and it applies to Bluegrass music generally as well. I've heard guitar leads and vocalists in Bluegrass bands using "drive" techniques like these in Ben's video.
more drive maestro!
Nice
excellent
Thanks, Bob!
Great playing. Pretty banjo, what make & model?
Ben, I've spent most of this week with Fireball Mail, using your tab, a small hand-held recorder and a metronome. I've built this piece up from ground zero and have all measures under my fingers except for unlucky measure #13. I've recorded your playing, slowed it down, then recorded my version, speeded up ... I still can't get all 4 beats in measure #13 so it sounds like music. Can you suggest anything I might be missing when I count 4 beats in measure #13 - and get 5?
Wow!!! that banjer really sings!!!!
question..
what kind of thumb pick do u use???
Thanks, Mickey! That's a Blue Chip JD Crowe thumb pick...love 'em!
so they r worth spending the extra cash
I used to not think so and balked for about 5 years, then I got one for Christmas and I'll never go back.
Know of any dealer offering layaway for Recording King RK 35?
Yessir, I will. Give me a call at 833-226-5623 and I'll get you going.
