This is the simplified version I was looking for. I've played for 25 years but have never been taught how to play backup other than just play my breaks quieter. Now son #2 has turned into a heck of a picker but he has the same problems I do. Son #1 (guitar) has been after #2 to learn backup. We'll give this a shot.
You have been very helpful to me as I teach myself banjo. I'm a jazz guitar player and teacher. I've always loved the banjo and I'm ready to buy a decent one. I've been looking at that Gold Tone that you are playing. Is that the BG 150-F? How do you like it? I'm thinking of getting it from Sweetwater, unless YOU are able to sell banjos. Thanks.

I want it be constructive here…While I appreciate your teaching, it seems every video only includes a partial/intro teaching, then you direct folks to your paid lessons to get more. Frustrating. I don’t begrudge you making money, but you don’t give a complete enough lesson to fully learn a concept, leaving me unsure whether your teaching style makes it worth buying into your teaching program. It’d be better to do a complete lesson or two, allowing the viewer to really get something out of it. Then they’d know if your teaching approach works for them. If yes, then buying your program/lessons or streaming lessons would make sense.
That's a great way to find the chords in any key! It's definitely something I need to work on.
