I am a polymer clay crafter. I’ve recently started playing with UV resin. I discovered that you can do a cut out in a piece of PC (think cookie cutter shape with a smaller cookie cutter shape inset), cure it flat (PC sticks well to a smooth tile, or sandwich the PC between 2 tiles), and use the open back bezel technique to fill in the smaller cut out once the PC has cured and cooled. I’m having a lot of fun with this, and so far, no failures❣️ (I’m making “pocket hugs”)
I’m so happy your close to getting that pot! I’ve started moving more into jewelry than bigger resin and I’m kinda afraid to use real resin. But I’m gonna try, I have so many open bezels sitting around!
Great vid hun. I can't wait to see the one about making bezels. I used to make jewelry and haven't made any in so long. I am relocating and once that is done, I am really gonna get into all this full time. I can't wait.
Such a simple way to work with open back bezels. Looking forward to learning how to make my own open back bezels. As always thank you for sharing. Your humor is delightful!
I’m so thankful you did a video on this, I tried the expensive tape and didn’t have great results which could be bc I was using cookie cutters, so I ended up using glue gun and went around the outside of the cookie cutter and it didn’t leak and they were the right size I wanted for a mold/mould and they were very cheap. But you must use a mold release I used a baking spray, and used a clear resin that cures over night.
Thanks for this video because I am looking for some information on open Bazels as I want to make my first but I don't understand how to fill them without spilling them because I'll make bazels with simple epoxy resin and not with UV resin. Your video helped me find a smart, practical and cheapest solution. I hope you're safe, "grazie". From Naples, Italy. Ciao🤗
So very informative!! Thanks for sharing another wonderful way to work with resin. The tip about having the bezals set in advance is excellent. I'm always looking at using all of the resin that I've mixed up.
Your advice always becomes a total game changer for my resin work! The micro brushes, posca pens, pipettes, color shifting acrylics, art markers and clear acrylic sheets have upped my game so much!!!! THANKS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, STEVE!!!! You are truly my resin guru, ive learned soooo much (one could say everything! ) from you!!
Awesome tutorial 👍👏. I have some open bezels that I haven’t used yet as I couldn’t decide how to fill them. Once again you have come to my rescue.....have bought those micro brushes, they are a game changer. 🥰💕. Many thanks xx
I had seen another video which recommended just regular tape. It leaked like a sieve! I’m definitely gonna look into the double-sided tape and I like the rolling pin idea for making sure that it’s well connected to the tape. Thanks for the tips. Take care and stay safe!
I've found the same translucent blue tape that is sold for resin crafts, but MUCH cheaper- electronics supplies. It doesn't leave any residue at all. Same tape, maybe a quarter the price. Look for 'PET' tape. I find that UV resin is particularly good for small bezels- you can cure each colour to avoid running, and the resin will keep for ages out of the light- so there's less waste.
I just got a bunch of bezels and I can’t wait to fill them. I almost bought that same set! Instead I got some Christmas ones (for later) and a Cinderella set from Sophie and Toffee. I just need some tape! Thanks for sharing!! 🤗
I just got these same open back bezels. They are so nice. I use my silicone mat and it works great for me. I will be trying the double sided tape as well. 😊
Thanks for the video, I am planning to make some charms and this video is straight to the point. Will nail polish remover help get rid of the sticky residue?
i had thought about these before and i bought some from aliexpress. the glitter shapes, what if you did them upside down so the glitter sinks to the 'top'? since glitter doesnt float. it was just a thought if you wanted to try that one time to see if it works that way
I've learned so much from you and will be a member soon. (Income changing in Spring) You've also inspired me to do my own experiments . I don't know how video suggestions work.... but can you create your own "bezel" using Puffy Paint, Tulip fabric paint or the like? They hold a great form after dried and should release from acetate easy. I'm currently waiting on a shipment from The Epoxy Resin Store & am super excited to get started in larger scale resin to accompany my clay sculptures. Thank you for your content, sir. 🖤 Adell
Hi Steve thanks for the video, I like to watch your videos as they cheer me up and make me smile.. Only thing is your links never seem to take me to the actual products you use 🙄💖
I’ve got these bezels! They are really good but tiny. Sometimes even with the proper bezel tape I notice it gets stuck to the back leaving a slight green tinge
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thanks. That was fast! I have just seen reviews that people say they tarnish within a couple days. I definitely don't want that.
Hi Steve, I love watching your videos they are very informative and fun. Just wanted to let you know that some of your links are linking to different products , so not the ones you use. I have purchased a few items from Amazon via your links and was happy with all except the charm bracelet itself, the ones they are sending via your link are very poor quality. Could you maybe find the actual bracelet and link it please as the ones you use are exactly what I am looking for. Many thanks and keep up the great work :)
What kind of magical baby wipes are you using? They take off glue on the backs of your charms, and I’ve heard you talk about cleaning up resin with them. Seems like any baby wipe strong enough to do that might not be recommended for use on a baby’s bottom!!!!😂😂😂 Love watching your videos.....wonderful tips and tricks! Thanks

Amazing vid and great links as usual to the materials used.......you've just cost me a fortune but it's totally worth it.

That's a coincidence, I just got my first bezels and was wondering how to fill them without spilling it everywhere. Thanks!
I love your enthusiasm it is great...I know it is something that needs to be learnt and I think you did a great job....thank you....: )
Dang ya Steve.....I have more things on my shopping list now. Stop showing me how fun and easy this stuff is 😜😜😜

I love the charm bracelets I haven't found one. The link doesn't take us to the same one you have darnit. This was so much help thank you soon much
I was bummed about that too

Great video! Thank you for your time!
Those turned out so beautiful
I now know what to do with our leftover double sided tape! ❤❤❤
Love it great way you not have a lot of wasted materials.
Great information!! I can tell that you love what you do! I love the charms and putting them on the bracelet was a great idea! Cheers, Paige C.

Love them so much!!
Just started filling open bezels, so great tutorial for me thank you.
Absolutely brilliant idea steve. Love those. The bracelet is a beaut.
Really enjoying your videos thank you very much for doing all this
Would you consider doing a question and answer about resin or crafting?
Very nice great tutorial I love the wood surface to use with the tape tyfs💯😁👍🏾❤
Really good advice yet again! Thanks!
Great ideas, thanks!

Love these, I like the necklace with just the jump ring

Thank you so much for showing me how to do this! I’m new to this, and cost is a little important. I love the tape!
I came to the comments to try to find out if he has already made the DIY bezel video yet.
They're fab Steve! I love the greek eye ones best. Everyone I do open back bezels, they are sticky on the back. Going to get that tape you use.
Great content. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing tutorial!
Clever, thank you once again.

Luverly work. 😍
Great idea!!😁.. Gotta get those bracelets
I like those Steve Ive been sick over a week now I need to catch up on videos.
Good tips

I'm new to your channel and I'm loving it. You get messy just like me, I even get it in my hair lol

Have you tried to put the wooden circles on that tape? Wondering if there would be too much residue?? Love the ideas they looked brilliant 😘
Hi there! How do you clean up resin over spill on the bezel you have after you are finished
Very cool and thanks for the easy looking lessons 👍 how do you make your resin thicker I was wondering?

Great info!! Did you make the stretchy bracelet for the charms??
Great project. Quick question, can you add oil to resin or add drops of food colouring.🙂
The stretchy charm bracelets not on Amazon🙁. I really liked how yours turned out.
Good morning Steve, can you use this tape when using mold star mold making kit?
I like to use a fabric cord because the cord that you used makes me itch.
I’ve got these bezels! They are really good but tiny. Sometimes even with the proper bezel tape I notice it gets stuck to the back leaving a slight green tinge
So, if the queen is ever looking for someone to knight for services to crafters, you've got my vote!!
I was wondering can you recommend a one to one resin for doing what you've done here pls and thank you.
Steve. That bracelet link doesn’t go to the same bracelet....can u find which one you used please. Thank you
Do your findings like the pinch bails tarnish or change color? I've been looking for some that don't have this issue. Thanks for all you do!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thanks. That was fast! I have just seen reviews that people say they tarnish within a couple days. I definitely don't want that.
Love it, where do you get this stretch bracelets?
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts wonderful, thank you
Your link to the bracelet was not like your bracelet. I liked the stretchy bracelet you used to put on the charms. Where did you purchase. I am in US.
Yeah I noticed that too, I prefer the other one also

Steve can’t seem to find the link to the bracelets buddy
The usa link for the bracelet isn't for the one he shows. Does anybody have a link for the stretchy bracelets in the video
hello Steve I am having trouble with bangles ,they come out shiny on one side but rough on the other
what is wrong?
no Canadian site for items????
How do you stop the resin from being tacky. Even after days mine still feels a bit tacky.
hi i noticed the whale had a leak but afterwards it was removed. how was it removed?
I take a picture put it behind clear tape then cut and put the wires where i need them
Which brand if resin is thick? I'm new to the community.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thank you and forget my misspelled word.🙂

I am concerned about your arm. I looks like a bad rash, hope you are taking care. Love your videos.
❤️💜❤️💜❤️
Now I want to see you WEAR this bracelet for a full week.
The worst feeling is to do all that work and have your resin stick to the tape ☹️☹️☹️☹️ painters blue tape I love
Nice video ❤️👍amazing❤️👍👍😱👍...👍..
