I’ve done a lot of traveling in my life…. I’m 65 now… and I’m happy to call Thailand my home…it’s a wonderful thing to know where you belong on this planet… many people never get the chance to find where there soul calls home….. welcome home… I’ve enjoyed watching your travels…. I got to see some places I’ve been in the past and see how they have changed……I think I’m going to hop on my touring bike and take a holiday to kanchanabury… again…. Welcome home brother….

Heading for 65 in Sept so snap. Started travelling overseas in Nov 1971 a cold blustery choppy ferry to Cherbourg France. Have had good fortune to see way more of this world than I ever expected good and bad. Fact is one’s soul can be in one place at one time then move as we age, least mine has. It’s now looking for its final resting place, we all need to find that peace and tranquility. Glad you found yours!

Last time I was in Chiang Mai, I rented 2 scooters and a big bike for a 4 day trip riding around the mountains from Chiang Rai. Excellent bikes, great customer service and they back their insurance like no other. Mr. Mechanic will get my business every time!

Thanks for your videos Wayne. Im looking to retire to Thailand next year . My wife owns her own home about two hours south of Chiangmai . I have been visiting Chiangmai regularly for about 15 yrs now and it is my favourite city in the world. We will probably pick up a condo in Chiangmai and split our time between the two.
Your real estate videos have been very helpful.
I look forward to buying you a beer some day.

Laughed when I saw the bike shop! Bought my first bike in Thailand there in 2005 (lived in CM from 2003-2012). Rode that bike through Laos and Australia! Old bloke (76) who owned the shop used to ride up to Pai in a day! Don't know if he's still kicking.

As with most countries this Thailand visa thing is a money maker and frankly from reading of a couple of lawyers the $10,000 is paid twice so $271 x2 the initial and renewal. Why are they so complicated just offer a 5 year visa for say one time fee say $600 people would bite your hand off. Love Thailand but honestly heat, pollution smoke et al. And add visas are all deterrents. Then again nowhere is perfect, that’s why we all leave our home countries. Great to have you back on CM. Stay well.

Why not have visitors or expats stay in country spending their money, instead of going outside the country to spend it elsewhere? The Digital Nomad Visa is good for 180 days for those 20+ years old. The Visa is good for 5 years and one of those years allows for an extension for another 180 days. Plus, it covers a legal spouse and children under 20 y/o for the same price. Price is 10,000 THB for the whole 5 years. You need to prove you have access to 500,000 THB. I don’t think the money must reside in a Thai bank.
