The naming of these rigs reminds me of when I was a kid and we would make up fictitious monsters... ex.. "The Morgan City Flat Lake Levee Monster". Keep the video's coming. They're Great!
I’ve been using the same rig but with heavier line to drop down between lillys and other floating vegetation. Just drop it in the holes, jig a few times, and on to the next. Kinda like finesse punching. 2/0 EWG, splitshot clamped onto a screw lock and inserted into the end of a short stick bait or compact creature bait. Will cast a mile too, but I’m generally pitching into cover.
What line are you using? Heavy floruo?
Andy D 20# braid with a 14# leader. I mostly do this bank fishing but sometimes from the kayak as well.
Just need to keep it standing straight up like the chicken rig then I think it will work fantastic. Thanks again Mike for all the great tips.
My problem with the Ned rig is it catches big fish. Those tiny hooks on a spinning rod with 8lb line I tend to lose to many fish. Next week I’m experimenting with different style hooks.
I picked up some 1/16 weedless ned jigheads , can't wait to give them a try , bin using the standard jig for years , going try my neds weedless now.
Hey Ike, this past season I’ve been using a completely weedless ned rig setup that I havnt seen anyone else use, and I’ve been keeping it quiet cuz most companies dont make these heads only a couple do. But it’s a small 1/16, 1/8, or 3/16 ball head jig with a thin wire offset ewg hook like size 1 or 1/0 (not sure but small like a regular ned head hook). Then you just rig the ned bait texas style on the offset-completely weedless. Anyways just a week ago I was on tackle warehouse and I see that several hook companies are coming out with them now, all due in stock this month or next month. Last season I had to get mine from a little private tackle company cuz no one had them.
You need to switch to Loctite. Much better and stronger glue, i've tested it extensively.
All these names for these rigs when in the end they are all the same lol

Hey Mike, what do you think about putting the eye of the off-set worm hook in the middle of the worm? That way the hook point will be at the top where the bait will be slurped up. ALSO you will get a neko rig type of pop to your stickbait/worm.
