@@a2casius It makes sense because to me the closest one to Uomo Noir Absolu is that Givenchy, they're not the same but they've some similarities. The first time i sniffed the Givenchy one i automatically made the link to VUNA...
Simply love this fragrance. Very resinous, balsamic, classy, vanilla sweet and classy. Its drydown in cold weather is so complex with it's note composition layered which rotate in and out of the forefront. Lengthy drydown over the entire day. Beautiful scent experience and so relaxing. You are a great reviewer and have done an awsome job with this. I highly recommend.
It was a long time on my hit list and I've just ordered it...I agree,it's really amazing scent for the price. And I can say rather original,as I don't own any of Valentino flankers.Very deep and sexy fragrance...
Givenchy Gentleman EDP is a Room 101 fragrance for me. Three times I attempted to wear it, and three times I finished up with a nuclear headache; something to do with that balsamic black vanilla accord, I suspect. Twelve months on, and the thought of it makes me feel queasy.
Excellent review, very erudite, AC. I have a few bottles of the original Givenchy Gentleman, which I would describe as a classy patchouli fragrance. It is one of my favorites and love wearing it.
Hi AC , l have one question out of subject beside you wear that nice fragrances what are you wear as watch 😅 lm so must quriouse as a amature watch collector
Thanks, AC for such a great review. I get a bit of cough syrup vibe from this but it doesn't bother me at all. This is the only Givenchy I own and I really enjoy it. I totally agree with you on its lack of versatility.
AC my friend! How does this compare to DHI? I'm assuming sweeter, I've had this and Valentino Uomo edp on my radar as well. Which do you prefer? Going to get some decants. This sounds very well rounded.
Great review sir. I'm looking for your take on Acqua di Parma Colonia Oud Cologne Concentrée. You mentioned it in your 'Compliment Gods' series but I can't seem to find your review
Sorry, different topic, but what do you think the best way of storing fragrances are? Do you think a fridge/wine cooler is best? (Apparently a fridge might be too cold for EDPs/Parfums?)
I much prefer the original Givenchy Gentleman (1974) even in its current formulation. It's absolutely divine! But then I prefer the scents of the 70s thru the mid 90s. The honey and patchouli combining with a touch of civet and cinnamon create one helluva addictive fragrance. It easily surpasses the new Gentleman Givenchy by a country mile... Not that the new Gentleman Givenchy is bad but it's a completely different fragrance from the original Givenchy Gentleman. I do wish they'd called it something else as the current naming convention will only cause confusion.
My Winter Signature Scent :)
Superb Choice!
@@ACSmellsGood My other signature is Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu which is now discontinued. Any similar alternatives you would recommend?

That buttery/balsamic aspect makes it closer to Valentino Noir Absolu than VUI or DHI imho...

Nice! I am totally with you, this is an awesome fragrance.

Indeed, its quite an enjoyable fragrance.

A powdery dry fragrance 💗

This is more buttery because of the Tolu balsam and it starts sweeter than DHI but then that sweetness tapers off. I will review the Uomo soon.
It's a banger! I just love to wear the edp!
Indeed its a real good one.

I haven't done this yet but I intend to very soon.
Fellas👍
LOVE IT TO BITS
Hi, which line is more mass appealing, gentleman or gentleman only?
I would say the Gentleman line.
Sorry, different topic, but what do you think the best way of storing fragrances are? Do you think a fridge/wine cooler is best? (Apparently a fridge might be too cold for EDPs/Parfums?)
If you live in a cold country you dont need a fridge IMHO. Just avoid direct sunlight falling onto the bottles.
@@ACSmellsGood Ah thanks a lot. Yeah Im in England. Will put them into my wardrobe :) Thanks :)

AC sir how similar is it to Prada l'homme intense? Between the two which one will you pick?
No similarities buddy, I would go for both if I could.
@@ACSmellsGood thanks 🙏
Great review and I enjoyed it and I like this fragrance and i give it 9 out of 10 and have a blessed day
Thank you Michael :)
You welcome keep ☝ the good work
Should i get this or bvlgari man in black? Although they're very different, which would you say is a better scent overall?
Both are brilliant, get both.
@@ACSmellsGood Easily solution 😂👍Thanks

😍😍😍😍
Good review but I hate this fragrance
haha I see.
