    Many relationships have been damaged by my severe PMDD along with depression, anxiety, PTSD and OCD. It's too heavy for people. So, like most heavy souls, I'm a writer. My childhood is too much for others to bear and they always leave without a thought how heavy it must be for me. So I release myself onto paper ❤

      Use progesterone (Progestelle) from this site clearwoman.com and eliminate using products with xenoestrogens. Use personaldevelopmentschool.com for therapy . I healed all of it using these.

    Thank you So Much for this video. I suffer from depression, ptsd and anxiety and got all these diagnosises some years after I quit the birth control pill. I was so much into this 'birth control pill is worst' that I lost my focus. My symptoms get worse the last 2 weeks in the cycle and the menstrual pain is not to handle without medication . Natural progresterone made me wanna die. Ssri's alone didn't help. I needed to quit my job because of my mental health . Now I started Nextstellis and already feel more stable but if it will make me depressed or more aggressive , I will try zoely. This hole topic is so important and interesting for psychiatry. I am glad I found this video. The professor is really mind blowing in her way to see all these connections. Thanks a lot. :)

    I don’t agree with this unfortunately. Lifestyle changes have been the ONLY thing that have helped with the RIGHT good quality supplements. I was diagnosed in 2010 and have tried everything. My pmdd is now manageable and I can function in my life again.
    The other point I disagree with is the speaker calling it a depression. Anyone with true PMDD will know that it’s not depression, it’s a feeling of being overwhelmed by everything then bouncing back to normal, like flicking a switch.

    why does the progesterone only pill make PMDD worse?

    • @PsychiatrySimplified
      @PsychiatrySimplified  Місяць тому

      Its likely that the effect of progesterone exacerbates the prexexisting vulnerability that is associated with PMDD - the pathogenesis of PMDD - is proposed to me more to do with the response to the hormone rather than the levels. Progesterone also has a different response ( e.g only increases DA ) when there is pre exposure to Estrogen. I have been exploring this for 22 years now in myself and was unaware earlier. I found this talk to be quite inaccurate from the number of years I have been talking with women.
    I feel that there are quite significantly consistent signs for PMDD and that it is not a variable as what this Dr made out.
    I think that if there is variability then it is more that there is something else happening like BPD, which anyone who is a high functioning Borderline will have the sudden fluctuations in coping and then not and coping again out side of the 7 to 10 days before the onset of menses with the settling into a clear mind and energy again by day two of bleeding.
    Any upset outside of that seems to either be inline with the average person stressing over something or if it is extreme, then it is usually more about an inability to manage stress and will have the aspect of BPD or PTSD. After the childhood trauma is dealt with, you will either notice there is not pattern in line with PMDD or that the pattern becomes really apparent in line with the pre onset to the 2 days after onset.
    And dIet and exercise does actually help when done right as it helps with brain function. As PMDD is more like an allergic reaction to the female hormones and not an imbalance, and poor diet is usually a part of the emotional eating or not eating, it is a contributing factor and I have observed it in myself and others.
    But hey, I am just a random person who loves to research and find out more about this and I am not a Dr looking at all the variables like complications with crossovers between things like ADHD, dyslexia, PTSD, BPD, etc...
    If not for the diagnosis from an amazing endocrinologist, psychiatrist who listened and psych nurse, I would not be the thriving person I am today. Even though a private Psych past year tried to diagnose something else within 1 session 15 years after the first diagnosis. It is challenging when mental health symptoms cross over, which is what I feel alot of the conclusions in this presentation showed.
    I look forward to the psych industry understanding the causes and finding solutions through the body without mucking around with hormones to do it.
    I am exploring nootropic stacking, which seems to be having some good results over the last few months. I am still exploring it though.

    • @jaaywalkaa
      @jaaywalkaa 3 роки тому

      very insightful comment - I wish the pharmaceutical prozac drugs were not the go to solution - I also am not a doctor but have isolated the blocked detox pathway beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme that deconjugates estrogens into their active forms- which when blocked makes estrogen be recycled and not eliminated and could be the cause of the crazy OOC (out of control) brain feeling hence I have told all the docs and psychs I feel like I am being poisoned by my hormones every month before one bright spark suggested I may have blocked detox pathways- so further on I researched and found calcium d-glucarate and DIM seem to lessen the severity - Im yet to try compounding chemist melatonin for the insomnia- all the SSRIs and Antipsyc meds made me a shell non person - would rather suffer the depression and I do. Also look into dr Lipovs Stellate Ganglion Block injection for PTSD - it resets the nerve fibres that have grown into the amygdala which is inflamed from the trauma and stuck on high alert - I dont know enough medical info on how neurotransmitters work and monthly hormone interactions but its a gut feeling its connected to PMDD. I am finding it hard to find a specialist to agree to administer as they are mainly pain specialists that deal in nerve pain - but its proven from Dr Lipovs studies that it resets the parasympathetic nervous system in most cases. And its long term relief after just one injection - will put the pharma out of alot of $$ if more doctors knew about this amazing intervention.

This has shown benefit for mood and other physical symptoms most beneficial during perimenopause. This will need a discussion with the doctor. There are several options that the doctor will decide based on individual media history. Estrogen only hormonal Rx vs combined Rx - newer agents such as tibolone, TESC are also available. I just wonder where are the tests of varying exercise such as weight lifting on pmdd, mine almost dissipated before this pandemic, that the minute I came into lockdowns. The anxiety and symptoms all flooded back on/off in severity but certainly noticeable sudden on off. Waking up the next day fine, day before hardly functioning. Biological I have worked on changing gene expression and neuroplasticity as first port of call. I know i've limited mine in past, by increasing cardiovascular to boost serotonin when I am most vulnerable. Certain exercise increase BDNF, and helps neural pathways. Upping magnesium, b6 and serotonin naturally have worked in past.
