Just because this person has no scars or doesn't emotionally show it, it doesn't mean they don't have it... I believe that parents have the influence to cause a child to be a certain way, ofc Azula could have not been affected but she is just a kid or changed but she had no guidance. And ofc she still could have changed with no guidance but it's really rare, I truly believed that she thought she was doing the right thing and got praises for doing it. And remember she was a child, they don't know the differences between right or wrong. If she did she have at least made an effort to change, but she didn't know. She was taught that her actions were right and she got loved from that, it's very important for a child to feel loved and appreciated so usually a normal child she ofc did anything in her power to get it. Also, Ursa showed all her love for Zuko, because of the abuse Ozai did, and since her mother showed no love or not as much love as Zuko, Azula started to do things in front of her mother, trying to impress her. So she did the thing that made Ozai praise her, but since those things were wrong. Ursa felt like something was wrong with Azula which was true and kids can sense these things that led to Azula believing that her mother didn't love her. This also causes her to be this way and have no positive sense of identity, that's why she is craving perfection, and she enjoyed watching Zuko get hurt etc, 1 because of jealousy for having Ursa love, 2 because she wants other people to feel down so she can feel better about herself. Her memories of her as a child define who she is now. Azula has so much depth that's why she is my favorite character!
This was a very good summary, Azula is an AMAZING antagonist. But that does not change how much sympathy I felt for her, especially at the end. I didn't see an antagonist anymore, I only saw a tragic victim, no matter what a great threat she'd become. I can't even watch A:TLA anymore; I only end up getting depressed... And that's I why I disagree with your earlier statement about Zuko's "perfect" arc: to leave her to her fate like he (seemingly) does in the show DEVIATES from what he's become and what he's suppose to be: like you say at 11:11 :compassionate, uses peace and kindness... Zuko should have reached out to her and prove to her as well that love and trust is the better way, and thus TRULY break the cycle. Still a great video, though. You deserve way more likes!

In the video, you present some good points but a few times you put bold statements without proving them and some points were messed up. For am example, towards the end of the video, you talk about how azula lost because she was alone and how that was a battle in ideologies(fear vs love) but Azula didn't lose because Zuko brought a friend. She lost because she wasn't mentally stable. Also, for an example of my first statement, in the video you use a lot of adjectives such as "insane, psycho, etc." but never really prove them to why she was that way. But still good work ❤️
That's what pretty much all fans think. Azula is better because she got her hands dirty, Ozai was sitting on his throne and gave orders for most of the show. He only showed up for the fight against Aang.
Ozai is more powerful than azula. You can see in his quick lightning generation (black sun pt 2) and just his firebending in the fight vs aang (before aang in avatar state)
@@GgGg-bc4on By just looking at her from the Zuko POV. We learn about her before we really see her. So we, at least I did, start to think of her like Zuko does. And he blames her for everything that went bad in his life, instead of Ozai. So we get the spoiled and never had to learn anything for real idea, filter all her actions through the 'one dimensional villain' lense and anything else is ignored or seen as just another lie, evil scheme or trick. It doesn´t need to make real sense, if you feel right about her. That´s the power of the frame that we get, while the show did contain a lot of more about her, but you need to keep your eyes open. Again, at least I had to, maybe other people noticed it in the first view, but I certainly didn´t.
@@GgGg-bc4on she was evil and power hungry, that's it. The only villain in the show that had depth was Zuko while Ozai, Azula and Zhao had nothing. Though Azula deserves credit for being very effective and causing more trouble to Aang and his friends than any other villain.
@@FearsomeVoid Azula got a backstory for her actions and a character arc. A character arc does not have to be positive to be one, hers was a downward spiral. She had depth in relations to her mother and treatment of others. Azula is not one dimensional. She isn't as focused on as the main characters, but she isn't supposed to be. We see how and why she acts the way she does, and it has a lot of complexity in it. Theres one 55 minute video breaking down her psychology, you can't make a video that long on a one dimensional character.
@@All-ze9cl "you can't make a video that long on a one dimensional character" You can if you are a pretentious overthinker who makes anything simple look like it has depth and meaning behind it. Such people make lots of shit up, they use their headcanons to make it look like the things they're talking about are something they aren't. Most, if not all of those "reviewers" and "analysers" on UA-cam are like that. Azula isn't a deep or complex character, she is an evil narcissist. The writers tried to give her depth by her being sad that her mother didn't love her, but that shit is just surface level and a poor attempt to make the audience feel sorry for her. People liked Azula because he was cunning, charismatic and a very effective and active villain, not because she is a deep character.

I love how you love the chemical accuracy of Azula's blue fire!! 💙💙

Love how much you love her
It's only Platonic lol
4:56 FINALLY SOMEONE ADDRESSED THIS !!!!!
4:24 It's actually physics, but whatever, yes it gets the point across or at the least implies it in the viewers mind.
Azula is my fav character lol
I was worried when this was copy righted but thank goodness! Keep up the good work.
Viacom wasn't nearly as aggressive this time around. I was actually expecting it to be worse. It was a very easy dispute unlike the Zuko video.
2:54_2:56 basically me 😂

She became mentally unstable *because* her whole worldview ended up proven wrong.
Fun fact Azula in Latin means blue which is her bending.
Il be the one to say it Azula is the better villain than Ozai
I was just thinking this. Azula is most definitely a better villain that Ozai.

Perfectly explained 👏🏻 bravo, totally agree brother!
They should do an avatars series where they do Kyoshi Roku yangchen and Kuruk each season one avatar and describe each of they life in a season

Nah
She was kinda one dimensional
